Bjørn Nyland is kind of celebrity in the world of Teslas.  He has been making youtube videos about his experiences in the Tesla cars since day one, along with other electric cars.
This time he is showing us a flight in Norways first electric plane, a Pipistrel Alpha Electro.

Norway has been in the front promoting electric cars, and now Avinor, a state-owned limited company that operates most of the civil airports in Norway has bought an electric plane.
"The new plane will be used for demonstration purposes, but the aim is clear: Norway shall become the first market in which electric aircraft represent a significant share."

    Hey guys,
I hope I'm not overreaching with this shameless self-promotion. But I hope that what I'm working on might be of interest to you and your viewers. I am currently developing a Lockheed Vega 5 for FSX and P3D. It will be released as an early-alpha version and I hope I get a nice flow of suggestions and critiques that will help to build an awesome product for the sim. You can find some information on my website www.wing42.com. I also just today published a first video on youtube to showcase some of the features. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-LYUddA5mk
I'm currently reaching out to various youtubers and flightsim communities to get some exposure for this project and hope that you could help getting the word out. contact me via email store@wing42.com if you have any more questions.
    Kind Regards,
    Vitus

Leonardo Software, the team behind the upcoming FlythemaddogX MD80, has not been resting on their laurels of late, with the team pushing hard to get their upcoming MD80 into the hands of simmers. Today, they have announced  some new information on the product including the price and even a tentative release timeframe, let’s get into it!
First off, their new website has gone live along with the downloads for the MD80 users manual as well as a quick guide with the new website being found here.
Second up, Trino has finished the last of the 6 included liveries for the MD80! If you recall, Trino recently underwent an operation and was sidelined from work while he recovered. It is obvious that this was just a minor setback, and judging by the looks of his American Airlines livery, we are in for a real treat! With the last livery completed, Leonardo will soon update the photo section of their Facebook page with more screenshots of the MD80!
Next, they are going to give their beta group what they expect to be the final beta build prior to the initial v1.0 release, and if all goes to plan with no major issues found, we could see the Maddog release as early as this week! They will let us know exactly when that will be in the next few days so stay tuned!
Now, onto the big question: will it be compatible with the newly released Prepar3D v4.2? That answer is a resounding yes! The Maddog will be compatible with 4.2 out of the box and runs without issues but they will still have to evaluate if there is some new feature in v4.2 that can be added to the aircraft.
Onto pricing. FlytheMaddogX will be available from Simmarket in 2 versions, with 2 separate prices. The first version will be the 64 bit edition, being compatible with P3D v4.1-v4.2. The price of the 64 bit edition will be 80€. The second version will be the 32 bit edition, with it being compatible with FSX, FSX-SE, and P3D v3.4. The price for the 32 bit edition will be 65€. It should be noted that there will be a 5€ discount for both versions during the first week of release, with news for the customers of the legacy version to come shortly.
They end their post by saying thank you to all for your patience and your warm interest in the Fly the Maddog X. When more news becomes available on the upcoming MD80, you’ll find it here!

  24. tarpoon liked a post in a topic by angeli662 in UPDATED: [EDITED INFO] PMDG Previews Further Detail Into Their 747-8 And NG3 Confirmed
UPDATE 27 Jan 2018 @ 22:55z: Slight edit for accuracy: The NG3 may not refer to the 737 Max. Can anyone confirm if the 737NG (real world) comes equipped with moving maps by default?
Yesterday, PMDG CEO, Robert, treated us to a small glimpse into the 747-8’s flight deck. The preview showed us some exciting new features including an EFB, moving maps and airport charts. Today, he went into a bit more detail and shared a few new screenshots of the upcoming aircraft and confirmed the team are working on the NG3.
The first key detail is that the product will be entering a beta period very soon. This is exciting is it means that soon we’ll see many brand new shots of the aircraft and see it in more detail. The next piece of information is that some of the features we saw yesterday are most likely to be only found P3DV4, as it’s a 64-bit platform. To quote RSR, “[the new stuff] brings forward our increasing effort to leverage the new x64bit simulator Prepar3D v4 to further increase the amount of realism we can provide.” The EFB in particular is important to note as it will be found in other PMDG aircraft in the near future. This will include the 777, the 747-400 and the upcoming NG3. That’s right, not the NGX.
The EFB itself, as we mentioned yesterday, will offer a range of performance calculations for take off and landing. If you have in-op equipment, let it know and it will make sure the calculations are accurate. Wet runway, it’ll factor that in too. The EFB will walk you through the whole process making it as easy as possible. Furthermore, it will offer limited flight planning capability.
Also discovered yesterday was the airport position map. RSR is a huge fan of this due to the added safety benefits it has. As a result, he was keen to get this into the aircraft. Luckily, for us, it comes with very little impact on the frame rate and implements a dynamic and real-time implementation. PMDG have made every effort to make it as easy as possible and will work with both default and add-on scenery you may have.
If you’re wondering if the technology will be found in other aircraft, you can expect it in the NG3 since the real-world aircraft uses the same technology. This would suggest that PMDG are working on the 737 MAX.
The next exciting new technology found is the Navigation Charts! It’s no secret users have wanted it for a while and PMDG have always been searching for ways to integrate it without passing a huge cost to the user. Work really began back in 2016, but now, excitingly, PMDG and Navigraph have worked together to now integrate it. This means you can now use your Navigraph charting subscription to import the charts into the 747-8 via the EFB. So you can view any chart at any time regardless of destination or phase of flight. Simply sign in and the charts will be yours to use!
In the long-term future, PMDG are looking to import this into any aircraft that gets the EFB. Furthermore, if you use Aerosoft’s charting solution, PMDG are planning to integrate that in the future. What they did make clear was that there won’t be a free option.
Finally, the other element that was noted was the rain drops found on the wind-screen. At first it wasn’t clear if it was TFDi Design’s True Glass, but Josh from the team made it clear it wasn’t. This meant that it was likely to be PMDG’s own technology. Today, RSR confirmed it is their own tech, which they jokingly call PMDG RainMaker. It’s been designed ‘per-airframe’ and features highly realistic aero and hydro dynamic simulation of precipitation and motion. This means speed, wipers and wind will effect how it displays.
Will it come to other PMDG products? Yes! It will start with the 747 fleet, then the 777 and finally the NG3. At this time, the team are unsure about porting it to the NGX. Furthermore, it will only be available on P3DV4 due to the increased memory count the sim has.
RSR concluded the mega post with further information regarding how the 747-8 is a very different aircraft to the -400 series. It includes a lot of the modern technology found in the 777 and later. It’s brimming with details, check lists, data and information. The forum post goes into a lot more detail about what sort of little details you can expect in the 747-8.
No date or price has been set yet. The team will soon be giving it to the beta team to test and give feedback. Once we edge closer to the release, the team will update us.
