  1. Hi all! The Russians over at RFSceneryBuilding have released yet another Italian scenery. This time it’s Ancora Falconara for V4 and it looks stunning! OMGEdson, they listen to your request: no jetways! LINK TO SOURCE: http://secure.simmarket.com/rfscenerybuilding-lipy-ancona-falconara-fsx-p3d.phtml
  2. Remember the A350 team for X-Plane? They announce the A319 for X-Plane! Not too shabby, but not too impressive compared to what has been done with the new FF A320. I’ll let you guys be the judge - look at the engines! Too roundy? LINK TO SOURCE: https://fselite.net/news/toliss-announce-new-a319-xpl/
  3. Hi all! New scenery in the Caribbean region, and that one will get you signed up for an impressive approach à la St-Marteen! 20$ club scenery right here right there! From the screenshots, the scenery looks pretty simple and not too detailed - look at the surrounding terrain in 2D - but for Sangster, that will have to do! Plus, it has Scotia Bank jetways, coming from Canada, that’s a sweet welcoming sign! Cheers! 4. Hi all! Not sure if that was released today, not sure who made it either - with X-Plane products sometimes nothing is clear! However, it sure looks interesting! X-Plane keeps on attracting me more everyday... 5. orbx Introducing KSNC Chester airport and KSAN SP1

Dear ORBX, Y U NO SODE? I mean come on, just why? Doesn't it make so much more sense for such a beautiful scenery to have SODE in 2017? I don't get it. Please? Maybe? Kind regards, AlphaIndiaRomeo
  6. prepar3d / fsx How to Create FS / X-Plane Sceneries?

Hi Pete, Wow... thank you very much! I'm short of words to thank you for the detailed response. I will definitely look into each and every suggestions you made. They are all clear an concise steps. Given that I already pulled out the Google satellite imagery for the airport I'm working on, and given that quality of the imagery is somewhat decent, I will work with that for starters and go from there. I do have the desire to create taxiways, the apron, and even roads on top of the imagery and so if it's a little less detailed than what I would get by paying a lot of money, that's fine for me. I think it's also a good step to make sure I can follow through with making the scenery altogether. If I can make something up to my standards of liking, then I will definitely go ahead and purchase the better imagery, re-work the scenery, and sell it. For now, I will concentrate on making a freeware version as practice. Again, thank you so much for your help. It definitely is a strong motivator and good luck to you as well. I will go ahead and work with your tips over the weekend. Kind regards, Frederick
  7. Hi all, Very good news for African flyers! FSDG has you covered with this new release for Mayotte Intl. Go take a look at the picture via the link below, it's definitely worth it! I always admired FSDG for their talent, the pace at which they release as well as their aim at targeting African sceneries and sceneries that are needed and that nobody did before. Question remains... will there be a Madagascar scenery anytime soon? The default one is almost unusable given mountains on either side which renders ILS approaches impossible. According to some exchanges I had with the developer over at Facebook, there is a new terminal being built and it won't be finished until 2020. The developer will then, maybe, take a look at the last big island of the Indian Ocean. LINK TO SOURCE: https://fselite.net/news/fsdg-releases-mayotte-pamandzi-fsx-p3d/
  8. Hi all, Just read this on FSElite. It's called Rotate and it would be an alternative, they claim, to VATSIM. I'm not too sure if I'm a fan of the whole idea behind being also a FSPassengers/Flight Tracker but the idea to improve VATSIM is there. It must not be forgotten that, although VATSIM has its defects, it also uses highly detailed scopes that are very very close from reality. I was fortunate enough to visit Montreal apron, tower, as well as the installation where Montreal Centre is in real life and I've also seen and used the scope used in VATSIM for the Montreal FIR and it's almost identical. The visual that Rotate has seems too candy and far-fetched to be close to reality. What do you guys think? Yay or nay? 9. prepar3d / fsx 29 Palms Skiathos updated to v4!

Never heard of that scenery before! SkyFive for the European SXM! It looks amazing... It's sad I don't fly in that part of the world...
  10. prepar3d / fsx How to Create FS / X-Plane Sceneries?

Hi Pete, Thank you very much for your help! I really appreciate it. First of all, I will definitely take a peek at the Prepar3D V4 SDK, that looks quite promising. Some questions for you that I've got in my first day of working with SBuilderX and that relates to the points you've mentioned. With SBuilderX, one of the options for satellite imagery is Google Earth. Can we use Google Earth in a project and sell it afterwords? If not, what if the satellite image has been heavily modified? Is there a good alternative to SBuilderX which seems to be outdated and only work well with FSX? What are the programs scenery makers such as ORBX, FlightBeam, etc. use to make their ground textures if not SBuilderX? Solely photoshop and the satellite imagery they've purchased? Thank you! 11. Hi all! New Albuquerque scenery for X-Plane 10/11 that includes animated jetways. From the screenshots, this scenery looks stunning! Can I switch to X-Plane already? Price: 20$ LINK TO SOURCE: https://fselite.net/news/albuquerque-intl-sunport-kabq-now-available-x-plane-10-11/
  12. Hi all! I need your help... I just proved to my girlfriend how much money she could get if I were to start selling Flight Sim sceneries and she suddenly agreed for me to spend countless hours on scenery designing. I've been wanting to start creating sceneries for a while now and I want to create a list of resources that I can use to start developing. I'm interested for both P3D and X-Plane with a little preference for P3D as I've never really got into X-Plane. Your help would be greatly appreciated! Anything from 3D tools to satellite imagery websites to guides and how-to's will be greatly beneficial. Have you ever started or tried to create sceneries? What are the tips and tricks you could give? Thank you, Frederick
  13. This makes me want to switch to X-Plane 11 so badly... and then I got remembered that the clouds and weather system isn't quite there yet...
  14. Great video! Just look at the houses on the side of the runway, it's beautiful! Very different than what I'm used to see here in Canada and the U.S.
  15. Hi all! Just thought I would take some time to review - quick and dirty review - one of my most recent purchase: Pacsim Salt Lake City for P3Dv4. I was eyeing this scenery for quite a while now as it is one of Delta's hub and I fly Delta a lot on Prepar3D. The city is a nice hop from San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vegas, Denver and Phoenix yet my first flight into Salt Lake City was from Atlanta, a little over 4hrs drive. Now, the scenery installation process is really simple! Once the payment is made, you receive an email with the serial number as well as the .exe file. For the installation, you also need to have three other .bin files available from their website. The scenery is beautiful and the approach with the downtown part that has been modeled really creates a sweet ambiance. The modelling of the surrounding mountains also attracts the attention. Performance wise, I have a fairly good, average system and had 50FPS on downwind, down to 30FPS on final and in around the apron. For me, performance was slightly better than what I have in Minneapolis (FlightBeam) and Paris (Taxi2Gate) Positives: Good performance; Good modelling of the surrounding mountains; Beautiful modelling of the terminals; Downtown is very well modeled; Inside of terminal is modeled! There were, however, some downsides... Downsides: Clear demarcation of scenery textures on the outskirt of the scenery coverage (see picture below) Markings on the ground (font used for the taxi-in lines) Gates could have used more weathering! No dynamic lighting; Weird bushes around the runways; The scenery as a whole just feels like it was rushed through completion. You can see in this picture the airport and downtown on downwind for runway 16L. The clear demarcation between the snow textures and the Flight Sim default (ORBX) textures... Look near the lagoon at the top right of the windshield, it's ugly! You can see the bushes on the left side of the threshold which is very unfortunate as it isn't realistic... Also look right of the runway... it is supposed to be grass inbetween the runway and the apron but it shows as a dark dark concrete texture which we're not too sure if it's dark grass or not. From far away, it looks like the texture that is supposed to go there never loaded. The B13 signs is a little jagged, as the R of 34R and 16R markings on the runway. Look at the font used for the aircraft parking spots! It looks like a popular Times New Roman font... I'm not sure this is the real font used in real life! Overview of the airport (very empty without AI traffic!) I felt lonely! You can see the downtown in the background, the famous bushes in and around the taxiways and finally, one of the reason that lead me to believe that they rush through making the scenery: look at the taxiway near runway 14, the tarmac textures switch seems odd to me... In conclusion, for $28USD (including 20% off) I would have expected more quality. I feel like the scenery was rushed through completion and is short of what would have been an amazing scenery. $28USD is the price for an amazing ORBX/FlightBeam scenery but I just cannot seem to find that the overall quality of this scenery equates what I could have for the same price with other scenery makers. I find that it is a hefty price for what it is but I'm still happy with my purchase and would recommend. After all, this is the only scenery available for Salt Lake City. Note that after exchanging emails with Graham, they are planning to do an updated version of the scenery that will reflect all the renovations they are doing at this airport at the moment. He said that it should be coming around end of 2018 and this one would probably include dynamic lighting. In this version, however, he said that dynamic lighting would affect performance too much and that's why it's not in. LINK TO SOURCE: http://www.islandsim.com/index.html
