In 1998 The Machmell Fisheries was surveyed by helicopter when loggers in British Columbia, Canada looked for a suitable area for a landing strip to start their logging operations. The result was the Machmell Fisheries Camp, a 900m long narrow bush strip 21 nautical miles south of Bella Coola.
The camp was open for 6 months and rarely used again. Today you can find the old strip and some of the  abandoned facilities.
Trails to both beaches surrounding the area can be found in this scenery and a lodge with a helipad.
Enjoy this challenging set up in one of the most beautiful  and places on Earth.

    Hello pilots,
So I came across an issue were I could not taxi any GA aircraft properly in XP.  After a long bout of frustration, looking at configs and posting a question it appears that by default XP disables your nose wheel steering. This effectively turns ANY GA (not sure about heavies) normal rudder pedal input to taxi into a free castoring nose wheel even if the plane does not have free castor.
The fix is you need to set a bind to a key or stick for nose wheel steering toggle thus allowing you to reengage normal ground taxi operations.
If you have this issue, hopefully this clears it up for you!!

    Q&A
    What are volumetric clouds?
These are 3D clouds that are intended to replace the 2D clouds of xEnviro. Most weather addons rely on 2D 'billboards,' orientating to be perpendicular to the camera view, that contain either photo-textures or noise-generated textures that get drawn in as clouds. Some common problems of 2D clouds include:
Clouds directly below are difficult to orientate/texture correctly. Volumetric clouds solve this Lack of variation of textures. From 1.08 upwards, clouds are noise-generated, eliminating the need for textures and offering far more variation Lighting is difficult to get right on a 2D object that may not necessarily be facing the sun due to its shape and position. Volumetric clouds, as shown below, can capture the light and scatter it realistically due to its 3D nature, which also offers the potential for more realistic cloud shadows Flying through 2D clouds relies on temporary fog effects to give the illusion of flying through 3D clouds. Volumetric clouds, being 3D, eliminate the need for the fog effect because the clouds themselves are the fog effect, in essence! Volumetric clouds also offer the possibility of more accurate environmental effect, such as precipitation
    Will the performance be better?
You'd think changing over to 3D objects as opposed to 2D billboards would significantly decrease frame rate. Not with xEnviro 1.10. The atmosphere rendering algorithm has been split into three separate calculations, as 1.08 and 1.09's atmosphere drew ten fps alone in one single calculation. Add to the fact that volumetric clouds actually give better performance than 2D clouds, and preliminary indications show a total reduction of just five fps. This reduction will vary from system to system, and is likely to change as time progresses.

Will xEnviro 1.10 support Virtual Reality (VR)?
No. xEnviro has never supported VR. Any version that does work in VR for you was by chance, not intentionally. VR support will be added at a later date, however.

What current bugs will be fixed?
There's no guarantee these will all be fixed, but it has been addressed at least once: jagged edges on scenery; cockpit horizon issues (zoom unknown); cloud shadows above clouds; the turbulence slider; airport scenery lights.

Will night lighting reflections be added back in 1.10?
Unlikely. But they are going back in at some point.

    Any ETA?
No. It's ready when it's ready. You know what happened last time when we pestered for a release... 1.08 was the WIP result, but everyone took it to be final.
    See http://www.xenviro.net/work.php for more information.

Just came from FlightSimCon 2018 and it is DOA. Traveled from Kentucky to attend and what a waste of about 2000 dollars in travel car and hotel. According to the organizers who I talked to briefly to express my disappointment, all of the major players were stolen from her and went to Las Vegas, it was not her fault. None of the major sim engine players, LHMP3D, Laminar Research, Steam, Orbx had booths or displays. This was my first show, and what a disappointment. It took only about 15 minutes to see what vendors had booths. The one speakers I wanted to hear was not on till 4:00 PM so by 10:15AM I was out the door. Wish they would have told people that this was going to be so watered down from past years due to the new FlightSimExpo, or even just cancelled the show and save themselves the embarrassment of a total flop. I told the organizers I would be requesting a registration refund, hopefully she will comply.

    Do something different today
Make your next flight simulator purchase a donation ware purchase and change somebodies life.
    Who are we?
We are a group of scenery enthusiasts from around the the world. We do this for fun not for commercial gain. We all share a common goal to increase the accuracy of the sim environment by re-creating missing platforms, airfields, heliports and finally airports. However, we also have another common goal, supporting our local communities and this is how "The Charity Scenery Project" was born from a love of flying and supporting.

    Craig The Founder:
I am from London in the UK, married, keen diver and have kids. I have been flying in flight sim for many years. I remember the days when planes where just sticks on a green screen. I am more of a rotor pilot than a fixed wing pilot and have real life hours in both. I have been fortunate to see the hobby grow over time to crisp flight dynamics of today. The progression and journey still amazes me to this day and the future looks mind blowing with the recent introduction on VR. I will mainly be supporting the rotor world by making heliports and missing pads. But, never say never! I am always looking for talented and enthusiastic individuals to come and support the project. So if you are interested please do get in contact.
      About LAA
London's Air Ambulance is a British registered charity that operates a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), dedicated to responding to serious trauma emergencies in and around London. Using a helicopter by day and rapid response vehicles by night, the service performs advanced medical interventions at the scene of the incident in life-threatening, time-critical situations.

    About The Royal London Hospital
From its base at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, East London, a helicopter can reach any patient inside the M25 London orbital road, which acts as the service's catchment area, within 15 minutes. Missions commonly involve serious road traffic collisions, falls from height, stabbings and shootings, industrial accidents and incidents on the rail network. The team can perform advanced life-saving medical interventions, including open heart surgery, blood transfusion and anaesthesia, at the scene. The charity operates 24 hours a day, serving the 10 million people who live, work and travel within the M25. The service treats an average of 5 patients every day.
