  2. 10-31-17 To celebrate the new release of Prepar3D v4.1 we are launching our first ever screenshot contest. We encourage our entire community to participate in staging and capturing screenshots that show off Prepar3D v4’s new capabilities. The screenshots will be featured on Prepar3D.com and in other media, and the creators of the two winning screenshots will receive an extremely exclusive Prepar3D v4 Developer polo shirt! 8. The admin over at FSelite caught this screenshot (link below) from an AMA Reddit announcement from P3d. It says, "PC Pilot Magazine just published an in-depth user review and we just released v4.1, so we thought this would be a great time to answer any questions you all might have." v4.1 or not the AMA should be interesting. 10. Following the release of P3D v4 and the new Dynamic Lighting, I explored various areas of the sim that uses the new feature. One of the things that were not updated from all other versions of the ESP sim is the way aircraft are lit when there are thunderstorm around. With the new Dynamic Lighting, the old effect looks atrociously awful. Ath the end of this thread, you can download a replacement effect for that. Here's a quick comparison video of the difference between default and the replacement: DOWNLOAD the effect: Backup the fx_plane_lightning.fx file in P3Dv4/Effects Extract the effect attached to this thread in that same folder Launch the sim and enjoy! Have fun with the new effect, it looks much better! BONUS: - Tune your rain to LOOK much much better with a few lines of code here: - Tune your rain to SOUND much much better with this mod:

  13. In this thread we'd like to track all the 3rd party add-ons that are being updated, not new releases! Below are a list of add-ons we know will work in Prepar3D v4. As you find add-ons that are compatible, please don’t hesitate to post in this thread so we can update the growing list of add-ons and Developers that support P3D v4. Fun fact, in v4 your add-ons are kept OUTSIDE of the P3D directory, allowing for swift re-installs in the future and much better curation of your library!   Did you find an add-on that works? Please submit it in a post below!

  15. Hello Freeware Fans, The Junkers Ju 52/3m (nicknamed Tante Ju (("Aunt Ju") and Iron Annie) is a German trimotor transport aircraft manufactured from 1931 to 1952. Initially designed with a single engine but subsequently produced as a trimotor it saw both civilian and military service during the 1930s and 1940s. In a civilian role, it flew with over twelve air carriers including Swissair and Deutsche Lufthansa as an airliner and freight hauler. In a military role, it flew with the Luftwaffe as a troop and cargo transport and briefly as a medium bomber. The Ju 52 continued in postwar service with military and civilian air fleets well into the 1980s. You can fly a well-designed and dietailed Ju-52 on your own FSX or P3D setup. Click on the Fly Away Simulation link below for the installation files. https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/1755/fsx-junkers-ju-52/ See you in the air, RG

777 fiends, So I think i'm going to go ahead and pickup the 777 this weekend because well the one I have is bleh and no matter what I do I cannot get good on the deck frames. My guess the way it was rendered and such, i dunno i'm not coder. Having said, for those of you with without knowing your computer specs how are the frames for you going in and out of heavy aftermarket airports. Sure I could go to other sites for that but seeing as the responses I'll get from here are from those who I have seen and spoken to alot it would give me a better sense of solid information. Thanks in advance
  21. Loungers, On behalf of all of us here hosting the Lounge MANY THANKS for the support given during the 24hr stream Sparks did. Tremendous effort by him and thanks to A2A for the generosity! I'm not sure what the final amounts in donations were made for the charity donation but regardless of the amount, it is much appreciated! For the A2A aircraft winners, so as I mentioned during the stream i'd like to setup a winners flight for all. I know this will be difficult to make work for all who want to attend due to your own personal commitments but keep in mind that once I see alot of input here and a good date is set that if you cannot make it please do not be disappointed if you cannot attend. Scheduling a large get together flight for 24 people plus hosts is a major undertaking. Please give your thoughts on a good day, i'm sure a weekend would be preferable and say lets set aside around 3hrs as well. A solid list of ideas as to where we should fly around would be good as well. Think scenic and interesting almost say a bush style of flying. OR we could do 1-3 different areas in the world to due the flights. So Gents and Ladies thanks again for all of the support now and in the future and lets make this happen! Noodz
