  1. Flight Sim Development Group Previews Upcoming Pilots of the Caribbean Project Flight Sim Development Group (FSDG) has previewed some shots of their upcoming Pilots of the Caribbean project on their Facebook page. First up in the series appears to be the island of St. Vincent. While details are scarce, the shots show some amazing photos of both Argyle International Airport (TVSA) and the surrounding island. A post on the developers forum promises something “very soon”, and comments on the Facebook post are equally scant in details. In the meantime, enjoy some amazing shots of FSDG’s upcoming St. Vincent scenery. 10. Just over a month ago, Captain Sim released their 757 Captain III for P3Dv4. It was met with some positive views from the community, but lots of feedback to help make the aircraft even better. A few weeks after, hotfix 1 was released addressing some of the concerns, and the team committed to listening to the community for more feedback. A few minutes ago, the team released hotfix 2 which has added a whole bunch of new features and fixes to the 757 Captain III. One of the most featured requests was the addition of having fuel and payload added to the FMC instead of using the complex method of external managers and in-sim fueling pages. Furthermore, you can also use the FMC to determine the ZFW, jetway control and control the pushback. Other improvements include 40 additional cockpit control sounds, window wiper sound effects and the CDU is now a pop-out. Some of the bigger bugs has also been addressed including fuel flow, VNAV fixes, cost index calculations and an improvement on the CI/Mach number. To install, you can download the update file from here. Once done, make sure P3DV4 isn’t running and install the update. The patch will overwrite all modifications of the original product. It’s not clear if you need to have hotfix 1 installed first. Just in case you do, you can get that from here. Captain Sim has said to continue watching their forum for further updates and improvements. Full Change log: – ZFW and CG management via FMC is added. – Fuel management via FMC is added. – Payload management via FMC is added. – Pushback control via FMC is added. – Jetway control via FMC is added. – A separate tiller axis is added. – 40+ cockpit controls sounds are added. – Window wipers sound is added. – CDU pop-ups are added. – The A/P disconnect sound is added. – PAX cabin on/off selection is added. – Fuel Flow is corrected. – VNAV speed/alt restrictions are fixed. – VNAV is improved. – Cost Index calculation is improved. – CI/Mach Number calculation is improved. – Cockpit sounds are improved. – The F/D bars readability is improved. – Seat belt chime volume is increased. – The Captain’s seat view is re-mapped to F9 hotkey. – The Manual is updated. 11. by JOHN MOORE on 31ST JANUARY 2018 ADD COMMENT FSWNEWS FACEBOOK TWITTER REDDIT In a post on their website, Dovetail has outlined what dynamic weather will look like in FSW. First off, let’s get the release date out of the way. The update bringing dynamic weather to the skies of Flight Sim World will be released on February 1st, 2018. In FSW currently, you have a choice of static weather themes to choose from, with your flight being conducted in that theme for the entirety of your session. Everything remains the same, winds, cloud types cloud heights, visibility, etc. With dynamic weather, however, this is not the case. When dynamic weather is enabled, the engine reads data from thousands of weather stations all around the world and determines the conditions from the METAR strings that Dovetail have created. In an effort to ensure the conditions are not always the same, Dovetail have created multiple environments through the inclusion of seasonal strings. Over time, this will be expanded to provide “an incredibly rich and varied flight environment”. With dynamic weather enabled, the sim will read in weather strings from nearby weather stations, thus determining the conditions rendered. This ensures the conditions at your arrival airport will not be the same as the conditions from your departure airport, as it is in real life. When you’re enroute, the engine will pick up other nearby weather stations and will try to transition the visible weather to the conditions it has been fed. Dovetail has said that there is in fact a cycle which waits before reading new conditions, as to not be constantly transitioning when you fly over lots of weather stations as well as a transition time whenever a new change is initiated. By doing this, Dovetail has ensured that conditions will not jump from one to another. Dovetail has also stated that since this is v1 of dynamic weather, the conditions will develop around you rather than being visible off in the distance before you fly through them. You can see the weather developing, but it will essentially be the same in every direction you look with no weather fronts being present. But that isn’t the goal of this update. The goal of v1 is to prepare the FSW engine, and their Advanced Weather engine, for live weather. They close the article by stating the aim is to eventually be able to visualize multiple weather types in the same session so it will be possible to have weather fronts to avoid. In a quest to achieve these conditions, Dovetail are aiming to create “what is arguably the most advanced visualization of weather in a flight simulation”. And after hearing all of this, we can’t exactly say they aren’t. Any and all questions regarding dynamic weather can be answered by Dovetail themselves over on their forums. For more information on Dovetail’s next updates to FSW and the upcoming dynamic weather update, be sure to stay tuned to FSElite! https://fselite.net/news/dovetail-detail-flight-sim-worlds-upcoming-dynamic-weather-update/ LINK TO SOURCE: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/forums/flightsimworld/?_ga=2.227892573.1796043737.1517431167-1934032176.1517431167

  20. Captain Sim has posted some new pics of their next release? I have a feeling this maybe a new 757, I remember reading an article a few years back that said they where thinking of completely remaking a new 757, then we heard nothing about it for years. The reason I say this is because they don't have their 75 or 767 on their updates list as far as I know. I could be completely and utterly wrong about this but see what you guys think????? https://www.facebook.com/captainsim/?hc_ref=ARQ0kS0UE70btIqShj3JIhJj1PQKPZnNy0LZfQIFtEKgA_UuT-ggmQmxXhVM423GJlw&fref=nf
  21. Not sure what this is, but so far 767 is the favorite guess LINK TO SOURCE: https://www.facebook.com/captainsim/photos/a.168362179846248.46042.115945288421271/1936993242983124/?type=3&theater
