  1. AFM M20 Collection Updated AFM (Advanced Flight Modeling) has released version 3.0.0 of their M20 Collection. With this update, the plane has officially left its early access state. The devs make clear that they will still bring updates to the aircraft, but feel confident enough to not consider it as early access anymore. The 3.0.0 update is mainly focussed on immersion, according to the developers, and comes with several changes to do so. This update requires a complete reinstall of the product. A quick guide to do so can be found in their announcement post. The M20 Collection requires X-Plane 11.20 or later, and can be bought from the AFM Store. 5. The famous addon FSPassengers is finally getting some fresh news from its lonely developer. It has been a hard work for him to rewrite the whole program to 64 bit compatibility, but he is getting there eventually, an ETA is between september and Christmas. FSPassengers have been available for FSX and 32 bit P3D since a whole lot of time, and a great companion for any passenger flight, bringing an ambiance aboard your plane with passengers sound as soon as boarding till leaving the plane (they will react to bad treatments😁), jokes from the navigating personnel, some stuff to do during long flights (you choose meal servicing/ film choices), other small things like very effective shortcuts for autopilot/ radios, a carrier mode way before any other competitor actually too, etc... My only regret is the time it took SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : http://www.fspassengers.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=18097&pid=165757#pid165757

  16. I am excited to share this little Scottish airport with you. I received an email upon it's release and decided to give it a go. I am pleased to say the airport is very nice for a freeware airport. Two asphalt runways and two grass strips. Lots of static aircraft (mostly gliders as this airport is home to the Deeside Gliding Club. I was first introduced to the ICON A5 when Microsoft introduced Microsoft Flight after having discontinuing support for Flight Simulator X. I found it a versatile little plane that is quite fun to fly. I'm sure you will feel the same way. Links to both, the scenery and the A5 are below. Both are freeware and work perfectly in P3Dv4. 22. A user on Reddit (Link 1) just posted something worrying about the FSL A320 installer which apparently contains a password dumping tool related to the users Chrome activities. How true or false this claim is something to be confirmed by FSL themselves which I am sure will be revealed in a public announcement soon. The above was then confirmed on Belynz (Matt Davies) Twitch stream & Discord where users confirmed the existence of such a file which could be used to the users disadvantage. Matt then contacted Lefteris Kalamaras (FSL) via Skype and was promptly responded to in private (phone call) explaining the situation. However, Matt denied to comment on the matter and only hinted at a possible misunderstanding of the real use of such a file. FSL will soon provide a public announcement regarding the matter and with all things considered, this could just be an anti-piracy tool from FSL to detract piracy of their product upon detection of any modification to their installer. Someone had started a thread a few days back (Link 2) requesting help for exactly this issue but it was resolved with a simple answer saying, "You should disable your anti-virus completely when installing if it’s causing issues." There is now a thread on FSL forums regarding this matter but no official response at the time of writing this post. (Link 3) In my honest opinion, while FSL may find a technicality to justify the existence of this malicious software in their installer, it still seems like a severe breach of trust, especially after seeing the response by the beta tester to a user who found this file a few days back, and no amount of justification should allow such practices to be continued. While this will definitely split the community into two, those that are okay with its nefarious purpose in the name of DRM and those that find it extremely unethical, I wholeheartedly am against such protocols being injected into products without prior consent or the user being made aware at the point of purchase. What do you think? Should such protocols be allowed at all? Is this is a viable method to stop piracy? It may be even considered illegal in some countries. UPDATE: FSL has now released a public announcement (Developer Post Link 1) regarding the matter and it is indeed correct that this file is being dumped to the user system (whether a genuine customer or not) without explicit consent of the user. Confirmed by a developer of ProjectFLY: "The malware is placed on your SYSTEM at the point of execution of the installer. Whether it does anything or not is irrelevant. Malware is being placed on the computer without explicit consent of the end user." As a customer of the FSL A320, I am disappointed in their methodology and lack of transparency regarding the matter.@OMGEDSON , I'd like to request you and others in your weekly 'On Approach' show to discuss this matter at length and provide some feedback on what your thoughts are regarding such practices (guilty until proven innocent). I'd still like to see FSL make an honest and genuine apology. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Developer of ProjectFly has posted a comprehensive statement regarding his findings and why consumers should not accept this in any shape or form. 23. Developers have reason to rejoice as SODE gets updated to v1.6.0 with a long list of improvements and new features. Version 1.6.0 General Added process watchdog to reliably determine running/shutdown/crashed state of the simulator, removed former SimConnect pipe watchdog Added monitoring of user aircraft beacon light and engines RPMs for use in future auto-docking feature Added Auto-Stand-Selection when parked at the stand with parking brake set and calling SODE menu Added ‘Reload’ event to use for external applications through the API (GSX) Changed handling of customized key-combinations (used for calling the SODE menu) to always search for objects, even if wrong key-combination is used Example: Before, at Drzewiecki Design airport TAB+S was useless as you’d need to use SHIFT+D. Now use can use either key combo at any airport! Fixed bug where user aircraft got warped to some random position when a density altitude object was in the vicinity (Big Bear Airport L35) Fixed bug where seasonal data updates were disabled when SimObjects were missing on the harddrive Fixed issue where the same customized parking was listed multiple times in the menu when parking was defined in different xml files Fixed bug where day of week Sunday was not properly recognized in FSX Completely revised the concept of injecting SimObjects! Injection only takes place when simulator has finished loading after position reset/init. This should solve floating AGL defined objects since the underlying mesh has loaded when injection takes place. Seasonal updates are now suppressed when injection of all objects is not finished, eliminating possible crash of application. Injection is now split into chunks of 10 objects to improve load on SimConnect and hence reduce stutters. Added existance check of SimObject model files on the harddrive! Before, if the model was missing, the simulator would pause noticeably. Now, if no model is found, SODE replaces it with a placeholder model (big red cross) to indicate a missing model file. This also prevents the pause/stutter. SimulationBubble now has a fixed upper limit of 18’000ft. SODE stops updating/loading object above that altitude. Overflying a SODE airport at cruising altitudes will not load all objects on the ground anymore. SimulationBubble updating improved from being time-based to event-based. Event does only fire when a certain distance is travelled. Before, the distance was checked at fixed time intervals. SimulationBubble will be now centered around areas of high density of SimObjects. This should prevent unnecessary re-loading/updating of all objects that could occur at an inappropriate place (short final). So, at large international airports with many SODE jetways, this should give you a stutter free experience during approach. Jetway Control System Aircraft exits are now sorted from front to back along the fuselage when displayed in the menu Improved custom designator handling Fixed incorrect setting of ‘docked’ status flag and double toggling of flag! Detection of upper doors improved by increasing vertical threshold Improved automatic jetway detection logic for AI and the new auto-stand-selection function XML Improved CustomDesignator handling when incomplete data is passed If custom number is not specified (only the name), the number will be set to base AFCAD/ADE parking number More error checking added and logged Checking of supplied AFCAD/ADE parking data is now very strict! If incorrect format found, the parking position is ignored. VDGS Added support for traffic-light style docking system (as seen in KSFO) Enhanced stop position assignment supporting single aircraft types and/or groups of aircraft Added B717 support Existance of a VDGS at a parking position can be queried through the SODE API Platform Manager Logs are generated for each platform separately Fixed checking order of registry entries. Checking 64-bit before 32-bit now. This helps detecting P3Dv4 even in misconfigured registries having a P3dv4 entry in the 32-bit part of the registry. Added SimConnect check on launch with result displayed in the application title bar. Added automatic removal of possible AppCompatLayer registry setting of the SimObjectAnimationModule.dll. Settings file ‘SimObjectDisplayEngine.ini’ is now generated automatically when user runs SODE the first time. For any other case, the Platform Manager leaves the file alone and only updates completely new entries or removes legacy settings. The user’s settings are now untouched when updating SODE in the future. Installer Removed SimObjectDisplayEngine.ini settings file from being part of the installer. In future, the settings file is managed by the Platform Manager (see above) Added the replacement SimObject helper model for missing models add-on.xml now properly encoded in UTF-8-BOM, before it was UTF-8 only SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : https://sode.12bpilot.ch/?document=change-log NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK :
  24. P4AO has been updated to 1.28 b03. 1. This version will now show the entries of "dll.xml" and "exe.xml" on the "other addons" tab too. Be mindful that, generally speaking, there should not be a DLL.XML or EXE.XML in "\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D V3/4\". Those files have been moved to "C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D V3/4" a long time ago. 2.
