"Airworthy Designs have been working hard throughout the Christmas break on their Princess of the Caribbean series for X-Plane. Part One of the series was released back in April to mixed fanfare, due to large performance issues which have now been patched - it has now been updated to v1.7.
Part Two will contain the airports of Saba and St. Barths, both of which are notorious amongst aviation fans for their hard approaches. AWD have been sprinkling previews of the new St. Barths scenery since late December, with further screenshots released today."

Orbx Update on TrueEarth Ireland/Northern Ireland

In response to a question on the Orbx forum, John Venema has provided an update on how TrueEarth Ireland/Northern Ireland is coming along.
John has said that a large chunk of Northern Ireland ortho imagery is on the way to Orbx which will actually be a part of the up and coming TE GB North rather than being standalone like the FTX region.
As for the Republic of Ireland, John mentions that their ortho provider is nearly finished with flying the imagery zones with their aircraft and is waiting for them to supply the imagery. It’s not known when the imagery will be supplied so work can commence on the Republic of Ireland although it is estimated to be mid-2019.
Just like the United Kingdom series of TrueEarth add-ons, Ireland will eventually be compatible with Aerofly FS2 and Prepar3D.
We don’t have much more information on TrueEarth Ireland/Northern Ireland, however, we will endeavour to keep you updated.

Threshold Exclusive: MisterX6's Latest Freeware Project Revealed
By: Sam Clark December 18, 2018             MisterX6's sceneries have long been considered the gold standard for X-Plane scenery development. Many recognize him for his high-quality freeware sceneries covering iconic American airports such as San Francisco, Portland and Boston. More recently, he has been releasing sceneries under the alias ShortFinal Designs for payware products, of which he has released three: Salt Lake City (KSLC), Albuquerque (KABQ) and Los Angeles (KLAX).
Today, Threshold has been given the privilege of exclusively debuting MisterX6's latest freeware product - an "early Christmas gift" - to the X-Plane community.

Japan Pro is MisterX6's first region-based scenery and covers all the islands of the Japanese archipelago. Its main features are completely overhauled regional autogen as well as custom objects used to enhance the cities of Tokyo and Naha.

I hope some improvements can bring new capabilities to this software and will be very helpfull to all the Flight Simulation community.
I hope this will become a greater software by making the community making it more and more powerfull.
Have a great time enjoying it !

The release of Prepar3D V4.4 has developers both excited and shared about the new PBR material technology found within the simulator. As discussed in our interview with Adam, many developers have had their hands on it for a while. One such developer is scenery creator FSDreamTeam. The guys previewed Chicago O’Hare a while back, which was poised to make use of P3DV4’s new technology. Today, the team released a short teaser trailer showcasing how PBR will be implemented at the airport.
The 2 minute video takes us on a journey though the airport and highlighting the various materials applied to parts of the airport. Whether that be glass, concrete or stone, each material now has its specific value meaning lighting will be accurately reflected.
No word on a release date at this point. Chicago O’Hare (KORD) will be available exclusively for Prepar3D V4.

From their website, ASXP will have plenty of features to enhance your experience in X-Plane 11:
Active Air Effects: Replaces internal X-Plane turbulence and air effects, providing enhanced turbulence, drafts, thermals, terrain-based wind effects, surface friction, gusts, variability, wake turbulence, microbursts and more High-Performance Weather Depiction: Uses internal X-Plane 11.2x/11.3x cloud depiction for maximum performance and smoothness, with multiple weather depiction modes including theme cell “real weather” mode and global static mode – VR compatible and optimized! Active Sky Weather Engine: An evolved version of the Active Sky platform brings the core features that made Active Sky the leading weather engine for other platforms: Advanced weather synthesis and interpolation, high-resolution global winds aloft, realistic air and atmosphere effects, a comprehensive weather data network, integrated visual mapping and planning, and much, much more Voice Weather Delivery: Active Sky ATIS and Flightwatch are available at any time by listening on 122.00, 122.02 or 122.03 for closest station, actual/current interpolated conditions and destination weather reports, respectively Surface Crosswind Attenuation: Optional, for better ground handling in crosswind conditions while preserving headwind/tailwind component for performance accuracy Mobile Companion App: Use any device/browser to connect with Active Sky over your network and view and control the weather It should be noted that cloud replacement textures will not be available just yet:
We have put our previous X-Plane visual cloud replacement efforts on hold (until next year) due to performance considerations and changing API environment/tools that are not yet finalized We expect our visual cloud replacement technology to debut in Q4 2019, subject to change based on many factors ASXP features high-performance cloud depiction with a focus on conditions accuracy, utilizing the X-Plane internal cloud rendering via a hybrid API approach, with two different modes available ASXP also features an optional high-performance photo-realistic cloud texture replacement with a simple texture installation wizard Additionally, only Windows 64-bit from Windows 7 upwards is supported:
Mac, Linux and 32-bit X-Plane/Windows versions are not supported In a networked environment, the ASXP application/client may run on Windows 32-bit (7 or later), but X-Plane must be 64-bit on Windows 64-bit (7 or later) We hope to bring additional OS/platform support in the future X-Plane version 11.26 or later (64-bit for Windows) is required And also provided, the list of requirements:

    Colsimmers Release Santa Marta (Freeware)

Colsimmers, a new developer is making a name for themselves by developing an incredible scenery for free! Santa Marta (SKSM) or Simón Bolívar Airport is now available for Prepar3d versions 3 and 4. The airport is located 18 kilometres (11 miles) from Ciénaga and serves only domestic flights in Columbia.

Colsimmers has done a good job of recreating Santa Marta (SKSM) airport within P3D. As stated above, this scenery is 100% free. It features fully updated terminal buildings, dynamic lighting for P3Dv4, and SODE jetways courtesy of FSDreamTeam’s Ground Services X Level 2. With the airport’s position, having a mountain range so close to the runway, you can expect a very interesting approach into the airport.
Colsimmers’ Santa Marta (SKSM) is available for free on FSElite’s very own DCTRY website. Colsimmers has a Facebook page where you can view future project of theirs and give suggestions for airports for them to develop.

The  Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean was carefully crafted by Matthias Seewald aka Maps2XPlane. It´s his debut payware for X-Plane and one of his most accurate and beautiful custom mesh creations. In cooperation with Stairport Sceneries, responsible for the airports and helipads, he created a stunning scenery of 61.000 Square Kilometers terrain, covered by 2 different texture sets for winter and summer season. Dedicated to this piece of art , one of the most difficult repaints was created under the direction of Walter Schoenbaechler aka Walsch which is available here. As well as this stunning video by Walsh.

It has been released as freeware and is a complete overhaul to the default trees of the simulator. Furthermore, the add-on offers a higher resolution for all standard trees worldwide. And when I asked in the chat if I could just buy this airport, I had a MASSIVE response from the chat, you included, that you needed Global first... . Don't worry, I still trust your judgement most of the time
It may have been a consumer error, but it really seems that OrbX wanted that error to be made... That's first thing
