Following the popular initial freeware release of xOrganizer, a payware version 2, rebuilt from the ground-up, has been released. xOrganizer is a utility designed to simplify and organize scenery installation and usage within X-Plane. Users can:
Manage the load order and enable/disable scenery packages Enable/disable plugins and scripts Load X-Plane with different settings (for instance VR vs normal) View airports included in the scenery packages (also projected on a map) View the coverage of your scenery on a map Manage the versions and download locations of your scenery packages Enable/disable GroundTraffic plugins ‍Improvements compared to version 1.3 include:
Completely new code: very fast with the use of an internal database + a lot of improvements/fixes Complete manual of xOrganizer Improved overview of scenery: favorites folder added, grouped by continent, etc. Improved profile functionality (sets in the previous version of xOrganizer) Improved version functionality: store hyperlinks to download locations New: select only the modules of xOrganizer that you find useful (scenery, plugins/scripts or  X-Plane preferences) New: profiles for plugins/scripts New: easy check on recently installed scenery New: scan for broken/bad links/shortcuts in the Custom Scenery folder New: option to switch off GroundTraffic plugins (per airport package) New: clean user interface New: settings menu with several user options No internet connection needed during use (offline maps) Further new functionality is under development. New updates will of course be free for all users of the full version
Regarding making version 2 payware, the creator writes,
"The previous version was freeware, but with this new version I could no longer justify this. Improving and extending xOrganizer took me so much time I could either quit or take this step. I hope that everyone will still support me and find the price fair for what xOrganizer offers now".

He has kindly has offered a demo to allow users to test his product which can be downloaded here.
For those who wish to purchase xOrganizer, they may do so here for $9.95

After his highly successful release of Munich Airport, MisterX6 has decided to go worldwide with his next payware product, SFD Global. The package will overhaul X-Plane’s current non-airport scenery by completely changing the terrain textures, reconstructing certain autogen regions, and adding HD forest and vegetation textures.
    Terrain Textures
SFD Global will replace X-Plane’s default terrain textures with new handmade alternatives. The new textures have been crafted using elements from high resolution orthoimagery. Extreme attention to detail and the seamless blending of elements has these previews looking great so far.
    Autogen Regions
The package will also include multiple sets of regional autogen. These sets will consist of new detailed buildings with PBR materials and handcrafted autogen tiles with details like trees, cars, and furniture.
The first three regions featured are the Mediterranean, North Africa, and the Middle East. More regions are still to come and will be announced at a later date. American autogen will not be touched since Laminar's default autogen simulates it well.
    Landmarks
To complete the product, SFD has also included some famous landmarks located all over the world in SFD Global. Currently, the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur and the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy have both been completed but more will come with time.

JustFlight to port BAe-146 to X-Plane
By: Peter Tram January 31, 2019           JustFlight is ready to embark into the world of Jetliners with their announcement of porting their rendition of the BAe-146 into X-Plane. In an exclusive news entry on Tom's Cockpit, the development team expressed intention to bring the product to X-Plane shortly after the completion and release of the ESP-based version for FSX and P3D.
The BAe-146 is an influential piece to the history of British Aviation, bringing simplified design to minimise maintenance costs and silent operations to airlines. With almost 400 examples built it also is the UK's most successful airliner. Powered by four Avco Lycoming ALF 502, it is nicknamed the "Tuberlino" and the "Whisper Jet" for its ability to operate into noise-sensitive areas.
There is already a rendition of the BAe-146 available on the JF store, but it was co-branded with the developer of the product: Commercial Level Simulations. As the plane is currently early in the development process for the ESP version, there is no set target release date.
JustFlight will model all three fuselage lengths of the aircraft, -100, -200, and -300. All of which will be modelled using real-world aircraft plans and comprehensive photography of the real aircraft (G-JEAO). Accurately animated components unique to the aircraft including Trailing edge flap surfaces, Wing-mounted spoilers and tail-mounted airbrake, and the Distinctive retractable tricycle landing gear. With this project, PBR texturing will be introduced natively on the ESP platform and will be reappropriated for X-Plane use once X-Plane development comes.
Here is the rest of the feature list (redundant/standard-issue features removed):
    COCKPIT
Captain, co-pilot and jump-seat positions are modelled with hundreds of functional switches, knobs and controls A truly 3D cockpit environment right down to accurately modelled seat belts and screw heads – every instrument is constructed fully in 3D with smooth animations Extensive overhead panel with custom-coded hydraulic, electrical, fuel and pressurisation systems Functional Thrust Management System (TMS) Authentic gauges and navigational equipment, including FMS, HSI and RMIs Custom-coded autopilot with LNAV and IAS hold Cockpit textures feature wear and tear based on reference photos taken in the real aircraft to produce an authentic environment Interactive engine start checklist Interactive checklists for every stage of flight Panel state system which will automatically save the panel state whenever a flight is saved and reload the panel state whenever that flight is loaded Aircraft configuration system that will allow you to choose between ‘cold & dark’ or ‘ready for take-off’ Many features have been added to help with usabilities such as the ability to hide the control yokes for a better view of the instruments and pre-set angled views for the overhead panel, centre pedestal and jump seat Flight computer panel with useful information such as fuel burn, endurance, speed and wind speed/direction Ability to integrate third-party weather radar OTHER FEATURES
Flight dynamics model based on real-world performance and handling data, and input from real-world pilots Authentic LF-507 engine sound set Multiple interior and exterior viewpoints, including wing views Comprehensive manual with panel guide and performance data PSD PaintKit included for you to create your own repaints Thanks to testflight357 on Discord for the tip-off.

    Mega-thread: AOA Simulations Lockheed-Martin F-35A Previews
By: Sam Clark February 1, 2019           Military aircraft developers AOA Simulations are nearing completion of their latest project, the F-35A. This is their third X-Plane aircraft, after the F-35B and V-22 Osprey, the most recent of which was released in March last year.

    In a Facebook post published on January 30th, the developers show off a new livery for the jet and say;
"We are getting closer to release :)"

AOA provide near-daily coverage of their various projects via their Facebook page, though F-35A updates are by far the most popular as the American stealth figher approaches release.
The F-35A has a large arsenal of weapons to choose from, all integrated closely with the aircraft itself. AOA have provided a list of the various missiles and guns fitted to the X-Plane version:
    GAU-22/A four-barrel 25 mm gun 2 x AIM-9X Sidewinder 2 x AIM-120D AMRAAM 8 x GBU-53B Stormbreaker 4 x AGM-158 JASSM (GPS-guided)

Week Highlights: ShortFinal Design tease New Project, xAmbience Released, ASXP Update Coming
By: Sam Clark January 20, 2019           The 3rd week of 2019 got off to a good start with news of HighSkyTech releasing the long-awaited weather plugin xAmbience. HST’s 2nd payware addon was slated to release on November 28, however, due to issues in pre-release testing, it was delayed until the end of December and then to early January.

With beta testing of the E1000 by Aerobask in progress, three new previews of their E1000 with the Garmin G1000 were shared this week. The flight model has been tested by a real-world E1000 pilot, and they promise to bring a high-quality aircraft to their users.

Experimental aircraft specialists VSkyLabs have provided further information on their upcoming Revolution Mini-500 helicopter for Laminar's sim. Perhaps the most unique aspect about VSL's latest project is that the single-seater helicopter was only available as a kit-set, with the owner required to assemble the chopper before it's first use.

Orbx's final TrueEarth Great Britain region, that being the North, has moved into beta stages. This information was shared via post by John Venema on the Orbx preview forum. Check out the full article for more details.

Windsock Simulations previewed another of their conversion projects this week. In partnership with David Rosenfield FSX, they plan to convert his popular Milan Malpensa scenery to Laminar’s sim. See more here.

The dynamic duo of Frank Dainese and Fabio Bellini are working hard on their next X-Plane scenery, based around the peaks of Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy. The completely new X-Plane version traces inspiration from Frank's freeware version for FSX and Prepar3D, which is now 4 years old. New previews surfaced this week via Frank’s blog, which you can see here.

HiFi Simulation Technologies this week released further information about the first major update to their X-Plane weather engine. Active Sky XP was released back in December and has since received a few small patches to fix immediate bugs with the software, however, is yet to receive any major updates. The plan for the update is to reduce the number of cloud re-draws, one of the largest criticisms of the product.

Developers of the Aerostar 601P for X-Plane, Avia71, have released a major update to the aircraft. The update includes full X-Plane 11.30 and VR compatibility, as well as new icing and de-icing systems. To see the full changelog, see our previous article on them.

Imaginesim, a popular ESP-platform developer, announced and previewed their first X-Plane scenery last week with news of their Austin Bergstrom Airport scenery coming soon to Laminar’s sim. Their first X-Plane project is a conversion of their existing rendition for Prepar3D and FSX.

X-Plane old timers FlyJSim have shown off more progress on their recently announced Q4XP. The Q4XP is the successor the Q400 V2, however is being built from the ground up, with new modelling being one of the major benefactors of this. In a post on theFlyJSim Pilots Facebook group,FlyJSim PR Manager Dellanie Byron released a video of the Q4XP's wingflex in action. See more in our full article here.

Moving into the weekend, Orbx debuted their latest scenery conversion based aroundFairoaks Airport (EGTF). The airport is nearby the hub of Formula 1 team McLaren, who’s base is included in the scenery. See the new previews here.

Developer Andrzej Borysewicz has uploaded a pair of preview videos of Super-Critical Simulations' next aircraft, the CRJ-700 for X-Plane. The project was initially announced in 2015 and is now closing in on release. See the new preview videos here.

ShortFinal Design developer MisterX6 released new previews of their upcoming Munich (EDDM) scenery today, along with a sneak preview of their next project. Early speculation appears to point towards SFD’s new project not being based around an airport, but rather a region, perhaps like the recently released JapanPro.

    That’s all for this week!
As always, you can give us some feedback on ourFacebook page, or via the contact form here.
Happy flying - and have a wonderful day

Among all the small Pacific Northwest airports that are loaded with character, Pearson Field stands out. For one thing, it predates them all; KVUO is officially the oldest continuously operating airport in the region, and one of the two oldest operational fields in the USA. Even before the dawn of aviation the site was a hub of activity, as evidenced by the 19th-century Hudson's Bay Company fort and trading post just off the threshold of runway 8. So far, the tiny airport has hosted the first crossing of the Columbia River by airship in 1905, been a stopover on the US Army's first round-the-world flight, and made Russian aviation history as the landing spot for the Chkalov Trans-Polar Flight in 1937.
KVUO Pearson Field for X-Plane will be available to purchase from OrbxDirect for AUD $32.95 (approx. USD $24.35 / €21 / £18.60 )
