    i have no idea what the default splash screen should transport. But for me it was always boring, the happiness was faded away. Everytime i wanted to do a nice flight - the picture killed almost 50% of my happiness. So i tried to fix it by taking alcohol and drugs which caused another effect. I was not able to start a single plane. Even the Aircraft selection became an impossible mission for me. So instead of flying,  i started creating stupid things and painting stupid liveries, watching stupid Youtube Videos - everytime i was confused by the simulator. But one day i found a solution that braught back the hyper - feelings, the satisfaction, the glamour. I found out how to create my own "Emotionizer Splashscreen" And since the day i randomly use only these 2 Versions.

    The  Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean was carefully crafted by Matthias Seewald aka Maps2XPlane. It´s his debut payware for X-Plane and one of his most accurate and beautiful custom mesh creations. In cooperation with Stairport Sceneries, responsible for the airports and helipads, he created a stunning scenery of 61.000 Square Kilometers terrain, covered by 2 different texture sets for winter and summer season. Dedicated to this piece of art , one of the most difficult repaints was created under the direction of Walter Schoenbaechler aka Walsch which is available here.     Scenery Apprentice Wanted!   IBLUEYONDER·FREITAG, 26. OKTOBER 2018   Back in the day, many trades had a tradition of apprenticeship. Those with a desire to learn a skill were paired with experienced craftspeople. The apprentice got to learn a trade first-hand, and the person they were apprenticed to got an eager helper to speed along projects in return. For the right kind of learner, it was an ideal system. These days, apprenticeships are rare, but I got to thinking recently about how much I’d like to have a personally-trained assistant or three who would trade their work for learning the ins and outs of scenery design first-hand. Why not give it a go? How it Would Work
    Ideally, you (an inexperienced but enthusiastic scenery developer in training) would work with me (someone with over 16 years of working in the sim scenery arena) in a mutually beneficial arrangement. I would provide you with one-on-one training in all aspects of creating scenery, and in return you would work with me on projects where you get to put each skill to use as they’re learned. Eventually, the goal would be for you to become a full-fledged developer, capable of creating top-notch work, unassisted. At that point, you’d graduate to being more of a protégé than a student, and I would provide the necessary technology and connections to enable you to sell your work – hopefully for a tidy profit. Who am I?
    My name is Bill Womack. You probably know at least some of the projects I’ve worked on. Having started in 2002, I’ve built scenery for companies such as the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum, FS Addon, RealAir, Aerosoft, JustFlight, and my own iBlueYonder brand. I’m currently a senior developer with Orbx Simulation Systems. Without undue modesty, I know a thing or two about sim scenery, and I’ve got the forehead-shaped dents in my desk to prove it. Who are You?
    Ideally, you’d have at least a little knowledge of 3D design, but it doesn’t need to be anything more than cursory at the beginning. I’ll be training you in specific software anyway, so you’d probably have to toss out what you already know. What you should have in abundance is a fascination with modeling and texturing, and a desire to become a professional developer. The other thing needed is time to learn and produce. This probably means that you would need to be at one end or the other of your primary earning years; either a student or a retiree. That said, if you’ve got a job that currently pays the bills but leaves you plenty of time for other pursuits, that could work as well. Oh, and you’ll need to have at least some aptitude for learning new things, because those new things will be flying right and left at you! So, in short, you’ll need three things: desire, time, and ability. Interested? Get in Touch!

    If you already have the OpenSceneryX installer on your machine, just re-run it and it will just download the new content.  If not, grab the installer from opensceneryx.com.

    X-Plane is full of interesting projects and great ideas from the community. I think it is time to pay some respect to freeware projects that i know, are remarkable.

    One of these projects is truly outstanding and has been around for a long time. We are talking about Antarctica4XPlane. Anyone who has ever tried to fly to Antarctica in X-Plane will have noticed that there is nothing down there. That's right: Austin Meyer has done what the climatologists had long predicted - he recently let the South Pole melt.
    But a group of expedition enthusiasts and adventurers have done their best to bring the continent back from the depths of the ocean and started to build all the important research stations on it and finding the right airplanes to repaint them for science missions . The Project is leaded and initiated by Matthias Seewald alias Maps2XPlane, a specialist in geodata and Master of the XP Mesh. (You might know him from Krabi4XPlane where he helped to generate a better mesh)  Since the beginning he connected many volunteers to work on this project.
    Those who have not experienced it yet, I recommend to try a trip into the eternal ice. To destinations most of us will never be able to get to in real life

    The Simmers of the first hour will know the name Heinz Dziurowitz well. He was a pioneer in aircraft manufacturing  and one of the key figures in the early days of X-Plane. His models were state of the art at that time and the first payware models in the XP universe. Unfortunately he past away some years ago and his models have not been further updated. The rights to his work today has X-Plane-org (how waterproof and legal that thing is... I do not know and as long noone earns money with his work nobody will ask) and so helpful members of the Cummunity sometimes polished up old heinz models to turn them into freeware for the community. With the permission of ORG, org course. A helpful member named DomHenry has already done this with various models. His latest work, however, fits so well with the style of the SkyLounge that I want to present it here. We are talking about the
    Lockheed Lightning P-38
    - one of my favorite FSX planes - now for free and in excellent quality for X-Plane11 at ORG.

    i am still waiting for a client to pay his bills for my work i did months ago. Only if this happen- i will have the money to pay the flight+hostel. But i am looking forward to this event.  i still figured out a hostel in london to stay 2 nights and a flight from ffm to london  would be nice to meet you there

    10 years ago i did my first repaint for FSX  and since then,  i transformed hundrets of warplanes into fancy cookiejar* Racing Planes.  For the anniversary of my thoroughly controversial hobby, I started to tidy up my project folders - starting with the XPFR  D520 - my favourite freeware plane. i have arranged my complete Dewoitine repaint collection and presented it clearly on my website. Other Collections / Planes will follow (only my X-Plane paintjobs)
    That's not a big topic, i know - the only reason why i created this strange Topic is, because I think that Repaints & Freeware are too neglected in the Flightsim Youtuber and Reviewer scene.

    After the two GTA cartoonish places Bamboo Island and Ko Poda Island in front of Krabis coastline, I took a few weeks vacation on the mainland to find out how to deal with a huge map without autogen. How to give the rocks the right look and how to make the rainforest look like rainforest. In the course of this I have built a wild illegal airstrip that is so terrible that you can only land with STOL Planes and helicopters. Around the runway I tried to capture the typical Thai chaos and . I am determined to provide an executable version of this free of charge this year. My focus in this project is  on acting against the perfect clean sim world where there are only beautiful things - especially the dark side of the area to work out Here are current WIP impressions.

    TorqueSim has recently released five photos of their render for the upcoming Pocket Rocket on their website.
    The aircraft will be available for X-Plane 11 and feature in depth detail including a fully simulated electrical system and oxygen system. FMOD sounds for the PT6 engine, custom weather effects on the windshield and even ice on the leading edges of the wings.
    The post did state however that a full list of everything that is included with this aircraft will be on a list before it hits the store.
