  1. Aerofly Life Project - Demo 1.0 Available now ! 19 MRT OM 22:51 - DRHOTWING1 Greetings everyone, even though I am still working on this project I wanted to give you something to play with in the mean time, so here it is ! To try this out you need to simply unzip the file into your … Documents\Aerofly FS 2\scenery\places folder. This current package only has the following South Florida DLC airport locations active; Key West International, Key West NAS, Marathon, Tavernaero, and Ocean Reef Club. Please keep in mind that this is only a 'proof of concept' demo so expect some bugs like floating vehicles in some locations (due to 'autoheight' being temperamental), not all roads have traffic (as this was done mostly manually currently) , and even though I have an internal working copy with the remaining airports going into Miami they won't be included in this first release as I have to still tweak them. Also, very importantly you need to understand that this is a personal project at this time and it not an official IPACS feature release. It may turn into an official release down the road but for now it isn't. I also have to mention that this is what it is for now so I won't be changing too much in terms of volume, except for maybe a special new feature here and there. I may also move on to another DLC once I complete this one but please don't ask me to make special locations for you at this time. I will however be releasing a tutorial so that others can do this as the actual process is rather simple. Well, without further ado, here is the link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P2JIpjeb66PI_5m1YOKYbl_vedJ9HW0m/view?usp=sharing I hope you enjoy this taste of the future Regards, Jeff (IPACS Development Team Member SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator :: Aerofly Life Project - Demo 1.0 Available now ! 6. Today, our friends at PropStrike Studio introduced us to Ken Myles, a former pilot at the Quatam River Airport, which the group had previously released a scenery for. Ken shared his stories from the logging facility in south-central B.C., which inspired the developers to create a freeware mod for the default C172 to simulate Myles' adventures in Laminar's sim. The mod will feature a cargo variant of Cessna's most iconic plane, as well as tundra tyres, an Angle-of-Attack indicator and some fishing rods "to make things a little more fun". Also included will be a tail-dragger version, reminiscent of the Cessna 170 that proceeded it. The team is working with the SimCoders to bring native integration with the REP package for the Laminar C172. 8. Greetings fellow flight simmers, I feel that it's about time to announce a special project that I'm working on that i'm sure will please the masses. How many of you would like to see some life in Aerofly? Well, the time has come (or just about has come) It's important for everyone to understand that this is not an official IPACS project or feature at this time but down the road it very much can be. For this feature to be made internal it will still need more work to make it fully 'deployable' to make it easy for us to add this everywhere. But for now I will only focus on the South Florida DLC. I may add this to other DLC's following but please don't hold me to it. So, let's get down to it, I will be releasing a demo shortly that will add road and sea traffic, plus a couple of other Easter eggs that you will have to just find yourself A lot of detail has gone into this, including some highly detailed vehicles that match the real life counterparts. My focus right now is for proof of concept, and the proof is that it is pretty amazing and i'm sure everyone will agree. I feel that this project is a long time coming and when you see it in action you too will agree that it brings Aerofly to the next level of realism. Please give me a little bit more time with this as i'm still working out some minor items, and the Miami area is a bit busy so I want to try to fully capture that in this project. For now, until I release the demo for all of you to enjoy, here are some sneak peeks (static ones but you get the idea). 10. Over on the Aerosoft forum, many work-in-progress previews have been posted of the in-development Lukla – Mount Everest in AFS2. Lukla – Mount Everest was originally released for FSX back in 2006. In 2016, it was announced that the entire scenery is getting reconstructed from scratch by the LimeSim and S3DD team. The previews below show Lukla’s eye-catching details up close such as dirt on the runway and local pets and animals placed around the perimeter of the airfield. Aerosoft’s rendition of Lukla will include a huge coverage area including over 10 airports within the scenic autonomous region. Lukla – Mount Everest will soon be available with an initial release for AFS2, FSX and Prepar3D with an X-Plane 11 release to follow after. 13. 218 Dear friends, The Spring has come and in today's Dev Blog, after some delay, we're returning to our main project - Bodenplatte. This delay in the news has been caused by the fact that during the Winter all the work on this project was made at a deep level - it was hard to make a screenshot of something - but it was a hard work nevertheless. This was known beforehand and planned this way. If you were following us for some time, you may recall that such visible pauses in the development news in the middle of a development cycle happened in all our previous projects and are a result of the effective work and division of labor. But today we finally have some intermediate results to show, and there a lot of them. First, we can disclose more details about the map of the project. Previously we mentioned only its size and location, but today we can tell you more information. There will be more than 200 settlements of various sizes. Air forces of the opposing forces will take off from more than 100 airfields. The total length of all roads will exceed 20000 km. The reachable zone of the map is 129859 square kilometers (400.8 x 324 km) while the entire map is 176947 square km (460.8 x 384 km). The preliminary list of the cities we plan to have ready at the time of release follows: Antwerp The Hauge Liege Frankfurt am Main Dortmund Münster Cologne (Köln) Bonn Gent Rotterdam Charleroi Amsterdam Düsseldorf Aachen Bruxelles Arnhem Duisburg Essen Apeldoorn Maastricht Again, if you have followed our development before, you may notice that the parameters of the new map are breaking the record once again. This is also the first map to be released with all four seasons simultaneously - a hard challenge for the entire team. To be able to complete the project before the set deadline without compromising quality, our Lead Map Artist Evgeny Isaev has found new methods of development and large cities creation. Also, Evgeny has designed artistic approaches that will not simply repeat the visual quality of the previous maps but will also give players a new visual feel that is characteristic for flying over Western Europe. But enough words, it is time to show you something new - on these screenshots you can see the central areas of Bruxelles, Liege, and Köln: But these map development news are not the only ones we have. We can show you the progress we have made on the three coming planes: P-38J-25 heavy fighter, B-25 heavy bomber (AI only), and Me 262 A jet fighter. For the first one of them, P-38J-25, we have used a new approach of creating the exterior and interior 3D models in parallel, not subsequently - at the early stage the model is divided into exterior and interior parts and the coordinates of their seams are stored, then both models are being worked on simultaneously to be connected back at the final step. This aircraft, of course, is unbelievable, what can we say - it's a legend: The B-25 bomber will be AI-only in this project, but we'll try to make its exterior 3D and physical model at the same quality level as our player controllable aircraft. First, this is important for those who will be attacking or defending these planes in the Career mode, campaigns, single scenarios and Coop multiplayer. Second, who knows - perhaps a possibility to make it flyable will reveal itself in the future: The exterior 3D model of Me 262 A "Schwalbe" is completely done, including the official skins. The interior (cockpit) model is almost done (currently the artists are working on its texturing), while our engineers are working on its FM and the physical model of a jet engine. When you look at this legendary aircraft, you can't help but think that it was ahead of its time: To finish today's Dev Blog, we would like to congratulate the beautiful half of humanity on the coming holiday - International Women's Day. Dear girls, be happy! 18. A few weeks ago, AirfoilLabs quietly debuted their development of Pioneer Field (PAVD) in Alaska. Located in the city of Valdez (around 100 nautical miles to the east of Anchorage), the airport is surrounded by beautiful terrain consisting of a high mountain range that surrounds a bay. On their website they stated that the scenery will include “the detailed airport as well as the entire bay of Valdez together with the town and marine terminal”. This scenery is certainly great news for anyone interested in general aviation, bush, or float aircraft. Alongside this project, AirfoilLabs has also been developing their King Air 350i.
