The popular electronic flight bag addon for ESP-platforms by Aivlasoft has now been made available for X-Plane users. This follows an announcement by the developers in late February regarding compatibility with Laminar's sim.
The EFB is Aivlasoft's flagship product and combines with either Navigraph Charts or Aerosoft NavDataPro to give users the full flight navigation experience. Also featured are detailed interactive ground charts and live weather displays (when fed data by Active Sky, FSGRW etc).
To install Aivlasoft EFB for X-Plane, check out this page on their website and try the demo version, which allows for a 29 day fully-functional free trial. Beware of a few limitations the EFB has on the X-Plane platform - for example, the taxi chart feature is unavailable in the X-Plane version. See the full list of limitations here.
Alternatively, you can purchase the EFB here for CHF 59.90 (Swiss Francs), which roughly equates to $59.00 USD.

As Traffic Global for P3D and FSX nears completion, Just Flight’s X-Plane development team has begun work on a version of Traffic Global for X-Plane 11.

Our aim is to replicate the features of the P3D/FSX version as closely as possible in X-Plane 11 and we will have more details of the exact specifications as development progresses. What we can say is that Traffic Global for X-Plane 11 will include the same aircraft fleet as the P3D/FSX version, with high-quality, animated models with lighting and effects and displaying authentic airline liveries. The aircraft will use a comprehensive, real-world traffic database in the same way as the P3D/FSX version and users will be able to customise their traffic experience using the same front-end dashboard and tools.

    In summary:

Professionally designed AI models Fully animated models with lighting and effects Not limited to 20 visible aircraft Works with multiplayer Aware of the player's aircraft Custom radar window Customisable routes Single, simple installer; no other downloads or manual configuration Traffic Global for X-Plane is due for release in 2019 and pricing is likely to be similar to the P3D/FSX version.

Today, our friends at PropStrike Studio introduced us to Ken Myles, a former pilot at the Quatam River Airport, which the group had previously released a scenery for. Ken shared his stories from the logging facility in south-central B.C., which inspired the developers to create a freeware mod for the default C172 to simulate Myles' adventures in Laminar's sim.
The mod will feature a cargo variant of Cessna's most iconic plane, as well as tundra tyres, an Angle-of-Attack indicator and some fishing rods "to make things a little more fun". Also included will be a tail-dragger version, reminiscent of the Cessna 170 that proceeded it.
The team is working with the SimCoders to bring native integration with the REP package for the Laminar C172.

  24. OMGEDSON liked a post in a topic by avdheide in Aerofly FS2 getting Live Action????.?
    Greetings fellow flight simmers,
I feel that it's about time to announce a special project that I'm working on that i'm sure will please the masses.
How many of you would like to see some life in Aerofly? Well, the time has come (or just about has come)
It's important for everyone to understand that this is not an official IPACS project or feature at this time but down the road it very much can be. For this feature to be made internal it will still need more work to make it fully 'deployable' to make it easy for us to add this everywhere. But for now I will only focus on the South Florida DLC. I may add this to other DLC's following but please don't hold me to it.
So, let's get down to it, I will be releasing a demo shortly that will add road and sea traffic, plus a couple of other Easter eggs that you will have to just find yourself  A lot of detail has gone into this, including some highly detailed vehicles that match the real life counterparts. My focus right now is for proof of concept, and the proof is that it is pretty amazing and i'm sure everyone will agree.
I feel that this project is a long time coming and when you see it in action you too will agree that it brings Aerofly to the next level of realism.
Please give me a little bit more time with this as i'm still working out some minor items, and the Miami area is a bit busy so I want to try to fully capture that in this project.
For now, until I release the demo for all of you to enjoy, here are some sneak peeks (static ones but you get the idea).

    Loved the story.
Me on the other side of 50 played with the same idea as you. Getting a RPL or PPL. I wil not get this because of my bad eyes. I will not pas the required medical checkup needed by the RLD (the netherlands FAA). Love to read and hear stories of people achieving there dream of becomming a pilot.
