As mentioned on Helisimmer.com DMO is working on the S64 SkyCrane for x-plane.
Smooth in VR
They confirmed they are launching a very big set of those:
E and F variants; Short and long cabin Corpo Florestale version, with a radar bulge in the nose Simplex and Erickson water tanks The team also took their time to do a few more liveries and objects to be slung.
Release date is still not determined but it seems to be very close to be entering your hangar
Should be fun to fly and work with the slingloads

Story I've just picked up on FSElite:
Only released a couple of days ago, the team at HiFi SimTech are hard at work listening to feedback from the community regarding Active Sky XP (for X-Plane 11). Today, they released a small update which was causing issues for some users. Those fixes include a wind aloft issue and the occasional hanging of the application upon exit.
Hotfix B6919B is now available via the HiFi download section. You will have to download the full version according to their downloads page, which weighs in at 233MB.
Full Change Log:

So on the cast yall spoke on what could come from a V5 of Prepar3d. The most sensible thing to me is to update the engine. Having more FPS is going to do what lets be honest. All of the things you mentioned that have been available in the other competitor sims have been available for sometime and now V4.4 has brought those things in and its great. But to go down the path of omg I need more frames isnt necessary when the bulk of users cant sustain over 40fps with good scenery/graphics settings for a solid experience.
The base engine is still limited in the way it performs and doing some "tweaks" to say oh look at me 100fps doesnt mean squat if the sliders have to come down to a significant level to do it. As it stands, anyone could feasibly get over 100fps right now but again that requires you to have a monitor with the refresh rate to sustain it which means gasp....monitor upgrades and drop the sliders. Additionally your GPU is going to have to work either harder or not at all to get to that point.
It has been said that in the sims 30fps is sufficient and to "some" extent I can agree but ideally I feel that 45-60 fps allows for a more fluid representation of what your seeing without having drastic performance issues. Now unless you are running on say a SSD the load times for scenery/graphic draw can be reduced alot but in the end the engine itself isnt all that great.
Rewrite the engine code or get something new but to say OMG we need 100fps isnt worth it at all for this sim or the competitor sims...again, excluding DCS because this type of flying doesnt require it UNLESS your one of the many people out there who want to extend their epeens and showoff. Its not say a shooter game that requires you to sustain 60fps or better to have the great gameplay experience and the flight sims dont require the century mark of FPS to have a great flight experience.
So rewrite the engine or get a new one which will allow anyone with more current hardware specs to at a minimum run the sim (Prepar3d) at mid slider to higher settings and have a fluid experience without jaggies, freezing etc as the scenery/graphics load. That to me would be the holy grail for Prepar3d and really make it shine.

We have another British airport for you: EGFF Cardiff International is the busiest airport in Wales and it's coming soon to X-Plane 11! Passenger numbers were 1.464 million in 2017 and are increasing year-on-year. Cardiff Airport is located near the village of Rhoose in the Vale of Glamorgan. This X-Plane version has been faithfully reproduced in stunning detail including the General Aviation area, BA maintenance hangars, surrounding housing and buildings, the cliff-side trailer park, power station to the south and the aquaduct railway bridge. EGFF is perfect for short and scenic Q400/A3X ops to EGHI Southampton.
Detailed 30cm ground poly Jetways and GSE Detailed static aircraft Volumetric grass GA terminal Great performance Blends into TrueEarth GB South Cars and buses in carpark Full night lighting
Please note that for the best experience, we recommend using EGFF in conjunction with TrueEarth Great Britain South. The scenery will work without it, however some users may experience the following:
Missing or misplaced forests Missing or misplaced buildings surrounding the airport Photoreal blending
EGFF Cardiff Airport will be available to purchase from OrbxDirect soon for AUD $32.95 (approx. USD $24.35 / €21 / £18.50) - Previous buyers of the FSX/P3D version of the FTX EU Wales region will get an automatic 40% discount.

X-Plane 11.30 Beta 4 and Steam
X-Plane 11.30 Beta 4 is out, both for Laminar Customers and for Steam! The fix list for beta 4 is pretty short because we intentionally cut back on what we added to it. Beta 4 had one job, and that job was to not be as broken as beta 1, beta 2, or beta 3.
X-Plane 11.30 Beta 4 does not have the performance improvements we have been working on for the last week and a half; Sidney and I found a bunch of things that are slowing 11.30 down, but we didn’t want to risk yet another broken beta. This stuff should be ready for beta 5 in a few days.
The public beta for 11.30 has been unusual in that it took us quite a few betas to get a stable non-crashing, usable beta, and during the waiting period we heard a lot of complaints from Steam users about being left out, and a lot of questions about when the beta would make it to Steam.
Here’s the problem: we don’t know the date when a beta will make it to Steam. Here’s the rough algorithm:
10 BETA = BETA + 1 20 RELEASE BETA 30 WAIT ABOUT 24 HOURS 40 IF BETA CRASHES GOTO 10 50 RELEASE STEAM BETA So in the case of X-Plane 11.30, we had to go back and recut betas due to a crash in the joystick code (beta 1), a crash when the radios were on (beta 2) and airplanes falling through airports into the abyss (beta 3).
One thing to note: if there’s a beta and it’s a few days old and it’s not on Steam, it’s because the beta has a known bug that makes it so unusable that you wouldn’t want to set your Steam install to use it. I see no reason to have a beta that crashes when you start it.
(Since we collect automatic crash reports from users, we have frequency information about how often crashes are happening, and we can identify crashes that are significantly more frequent than what we’d expect in a stable beta.)

The last we’ve heard from FlyTampa regarding Las Vegas was back in July, today, over on their Facebook page, they’re back with one landside preview of Las Vegas McCarran Intl. Terminal 3.
FlyTampa had announced in their previous post that they are doing the strip and surrounding suburban area around the airport which has taken them a lot longer than expected. We will eagerly be waiting for more previews of the rest of the airport and surrounding area.
We don’t have much more information regarding FlyTampa Las Vegas, but we will ensure to keep you updated as more news regarding the airport surfaces.
Here’s a photo of the real world Terminal 3 for comparison:

Orbx Announce Shoreham Airport for X-Plane 11
Since the release of Orbx TrueEarth Great Britain South, Orbx has started ramping up the releases of their British airports for X-Plane 11. The next in a long line of products to come is Shoreham Airport (EGKA).
Shoreham Airport in the south of the UK is of the biggest bases for flying schools and other activities along the coast. The nearby scenery, landmarks and coasts make it a scenic trip for any pilot taking off from Shoreham. The team porting it over have gone to great lengths to ensure that it meets the high standard users would expect including HD textures, animated flags, custom modelled airport and houses and matched colouring for TrueEarth Great Britain South.
