  2. To close the gap between the existing Sim-wings Canary islands professional - El Hierro and Canary islands professional - La Palma with there airports (GCHI and GCLA) and the upcomming products Canary islands professional - Tenerife Sur (GCTS) and the Canary islands professional - Gran Canaria (GCLP), the project for Sim-wings Canary islands professional - La Gomera was started. Here some Work in Progress previews: The project includes the complete photorealistic island with a detail mesh of 5m density. Even when the Airport is not that busy with the two daily flights to Tenerife, the approach is special., more like a landing on an aircraft carrier. La Gomera is the first airport, where a full P3DV4 SDK based costum developed PAPI system is included, not BGLC Code or simple AFCAD as before. The airport is small, but has a nice Terminal in a Canarian architecture. The Terminal is not only outside detailed modeled, also the inside areas are implemented The entrance Hall will show nice light and shadow effects in P3D V4 The facilities are limited, but everything is there: Shopping, Rent-a-Car and a restaurant. The Landside with the entrance portal is also fully modeled We do not guarantee that the taxi number is still correct But you will find your way to the highlights of the island The safety of flying is taken care of All buildings within the airport fence are present During a sightseeing tour with the avatar, the entrance doors are no obstacle, they open automatically Even at night is ensured a realistic atmosphere outside... ... and inside the Terminal ... ... and on the Apron ... ... and at the landside Start the way to Gomera ... ... we see us soon. 8. Over on the Aerosoft forum, many work-in-progress previews have been posted of the in-development Lukla – Mount Everest in AFS2. Lukla – Mount Everest was originally released for FSX back in 2006. In 2016, it was announced that the entire scenery is getting reconstructed from scratch by the LimeSim and S3DD team. The previews below show Lukla’s eye-catching details up close such as dirt on the runway and local pets and animals placed around the perimeter of the airfield. Aerosoft’s rendition of Lukla will include a huge coverage area including over 10 airports within the scenic autonomous region. Lukla – Mount Everest will soon be available with an initial release for AFS2, FSX and Prepar3D with an X-Plane 11 release to follow after. 9. Airport Berlin-Brandenburg XP is now available for XP11 Flights to and from Airport Berlin-Brandenburg are now possible as Germany’s most famous hub opens its gates. Don’t believe that? You can – with the brand-new add-on "Airport Berlin-Brandenburg" we bring what is probably Europe’s largest airport construction site to XPlane 11. From the very beginning, Berlin-Brandenburg Airport was not a very lucky project. Construction work began in September 2006 and the opening to the public was scheduled for October 2011. The construction progress continues to fall more and more behind the initial schedule and costs have been skyrocketing ever since. The airport has suffered from continued delays; it is far from completion and as of now an opening date is still not in sight. The add-on Airport Berlin-Brandenburg covers the existing Airport Berlin Schönefeld as well as the adjacent new international airport. Two configurations make it easy to switch between the current status and one where the new airport is already open. Video: Features: A highly detailed rendition of Berlin Brandenburg International Airport "Willy Brandt" (BER) Includes the older Schönefeld (SXF) airport (north of BER) with the same level of detail Includes two configs to switch between SXF and BER operation Custom animated approach lights (SAM Plugin required) All jetways animated (SAM Plugin required) Numerous dynamic objects like apron vehicles High-resolution day and night textures Extensive coverage of over 100 km² with high-resolution aerial imagery (0.2-0.4 m/px) Realistic 3D grass and vegetation Ground Layout: End of 2018 Compatible with default AI-Traffic and World Traffic 3 SOURCE

The airport, which was originally released for Prepar3D V4, has since been converted by Windsock Simulations to bring a realistic representation of the airport in the simulator. In preparation for the release of Aeroporto di Bergamo-Orio al Serio, Aerosoft has released the launch trailer. From the clip, you can see the attention to detail in the terminal buildings, the blending of the scenery to nearby ground textures and more. It should be noted that since the footage was shot, Windsock Simulations has added in PBR textures for the ground polys. Once the product is available, we will let you know. 20. Aerosoft Statement on A330 Delay It has been a long time since we last heard any progress on the Aerosoft A330. However, Mathijs Kok has taken to the forum to describe, in detail, what’s been going on and when we can expect it. He opens up his forum post letting us know that the modeller behind the project, Stefam, is currently working on a different project. Whilst it wasn’t disclosed what the project was, but it was confirmed that is a project that will enable Aerosoft to grow in new ways and is also financially beneficial to them. The project may come to the simulator, or it may not. As for the 3 other developers, they are now focused solely on A330 development. Beforehand, it was focused on the A320 platform, but as Mathijs describes: “95% of the code they are doing for the A320 series is part of the A330.” From the forum post, it would appear that there are still over 500 issues that are on the bug tracker. Some are small problems and some are bigger ones. Whilst development on the A330 is now firmly on the front-burner, fixes and changes will be back-tracked automatically to the A320 code base. What this means is that those waiting for Service Pack 1 for the A320 family, it will no longer be coming. Instead what will happen is that when the coding is complete and fixed, the update will be pushed out to the community. An example of this is the PFD, which is being rewritten. Another example is Connected Flight Deck, which has started performance testing today. Mathijs then went onto talk about schedules. What he is hoping is that instead of a singular large update, users will start to see more frequent updates which will push out big and small changes as things are fixed and developed. He said that they are “getting a better idea on the causes of the big issues”. He then went onto say that whilst they make every effort to fix bugs reported, sometimes bugs appear in the real-world too, giving examples of when an aircraft doesn’t slow down at certain waypoints. Finally, no sort of release date was given regarding the A330. He has “no idea” when it will be released at this point in time and will commit to releasing once fully comfortable with the aircraft. Mathijs concluded that if anyone were to have questions, they should head to the Aerosoft forums and ask them. He assured users he would be as honest as possible, providing he could realistically answer them.
