  1. Orbx Update on TrueEarth Ireland/Northern Ireland In response to a question on the Orbx forum, John Venema has provided an update on how TrueEarth Ireland/Northern Ireland is coming along. John has said that a large chunk of Northern Ireland ortho imagery is on the way to Orbx which will actually be a part of the up and coming TE GB North rather than being standalone like the FTX region. As for the Republic of Ireland, John mentions that their ortho provider is nearly finished with flying the imagery zones with their aircraft and is waiting for them to supply the imagery. It’s not known when the imagery will be supplied so work can commence on the Republic of Ireland although it is estimated to be mid-2019. Just like the United Kingdom series of TrueEarth add-ons, Ireland will eventually be compatible with Aerofly FS2 and Prepar3D. We don’t have much more information on TrueEarth Ireland/Northern Ireland, however, we will endeavour to keep you updated. 3. Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying the fruits of our labour with TEGB Central! I am looking forward to seeing your screenshots and watching your videos. However, we have more work to do. In addition to SP1's for TE Netherlands, GB South and GB Central being worked on right now, we have already made good progress on TE GB North. We are hoping to license 10M elevation mesh to make the Scottish Highlands area just stunning to explore. Here are a few cheeky shots that TonyW made for me a few days ago. Notice how the clarity of the ortho improves the further we go north? Obviously our data provider improved their QA as they progressed further north with their aircraft, and the results are impressive. The last one is my current desktop wallpaper. Just to remind me we have more work to to ... SOURCE
  4. Hello all, I know many of you have been waiting on news of the P3D version of TE GB South. Here are some pre-beta shots from the dev team. Note that we are not yet in beta testing and this is an early build, so there will be warts in these shots. Also note this is vanilla P3D with just HDR on, from a dev's PC. No PTA or other addons in use . There will be countless more preview shots coming very soon! SOURCE

  7. Courtesy of FSElite, news that I hope will be another good reason for @OMGEDSON to finally make the move to open XPlane 11! == Announced in a Forum post, Orbx has released Chichester/Goodwood Airport (EGHR) exclusively for X-Plane 11 to complement their TrueEarth Great Britain South add-on. Goodwood Airport is located in Chichester, West Sussex on the Goodwood Estate. This airfield was built and primarily used during World War II by the RAF as a relief landing ground. Today, the airport sees its fair share of GA traffic and its surrounding road is a well-known racing circuit. From the screenshots below, you can see that developers at Orbx have tried to capture both the history and natural beauty of the airfield and surrounding area with almost every single object seen at the real object photographed, modelled and placed. This airport features 15/60cm/px ground imagery, static objects, animated Ferraris racing, TrueEarth GB compatibility and more which you can see in the key features at the end. You can grab a hold of Chichester/Goodwood Airport (EGHR) from OrbxDirect at a price of AUD$28.01 (Incl. VAT) for X-Plane 11 until the end of the year at a 15% discount. In 2019, it will cost AUD$32.95 (Incl. VAT). Owners of the FSX/P3D version will automatically be granted a 40% discount. = ORBX product page: https://orbxdirect.com/product/eghr/xp11 Link with specficiations and more screenshots below. 11. Sad news this, but at least it should help bring TE England to market quicker. Sad news for those eager to get their hands on it, Orbx openLC Africa has been delayed into 2019. Courtesy of a forum post by Orbx CEO John Venema, we now know what’s been keeping OLC Africa from being in our hands this year. John explains that Africa has been pushed out until February in order for Orbx to finish TrueEarth Great Britain South for P3D. This announcement also comes at a time when Orbx is addressing resources with their new UK development center, which will bring a lot more developers into the fold with the hopes to get back on track with their previously announced roadmap. Coincidentally, if you’d like to work at the aforementioned UK development center, Orbx are currently trying to fill 10+ vacancies so why not shoot them an application if you think you qualify? That was all that was said on openLC Africa for now, and we’ll be sure to keep you informed if and when the status changes on the project. As we move closer to release and continue beta testing, I thought I would show you just a small sample of some of the hundreds of custom 3D POI models going into this TE region: There's simply not enough space to fit even a decent percentage of what you will find in the region, but I am sure many of you can recognise some of the ones shown here.
