  5. This is all sim related not just P3D. I recall on a previous show some of you had issues with PC Pilot. I found this digital version of the magazine about a year ago and have been a subscriber ever since. It may not be monthly, but I would say I get an issue at least every other month. I love reading it and there are some great series of articles as well as reviews and other stuff. I bring this to you attention for 2 series of articles that span many issues and in my opinion are worth the investment at 3.99 a back issue. The first is a series on airliner simulation. It starts with issue 111 through the current issue of 117. 111: Airline Simulation, Part 1: The flight deck 112: Airline Simulation Part 2: Flight planning 113: Airline Simulation Part 3: Preparing at the gate 114: Airline Simulation Part 4: Pushing back 115: Airline Simulation Part 5: The take-off 116: Airline Simulation Part 6: Settling down in the cruise 117: Airline Simulation Part 7: Descent and landing preparation The second series starts with issue 106 and continues through the current issue of 117. 106: GA back to basics: The principles of flight 107: GA back to basics: Understanding trim controls 108: GA back to basics: Preflight and groundhandling procedures 109: GA back to basics: Angle of attack, balanced flight and using flaps 110: GA back to basics: Advanced skills -- stalls, steep turns, ... 111: GA back to basics: Landing techniques 112: GA back to basics: The circuit pattern 113: GA back to basics: More demanding manoeuvers 114: GA back to basics: When things don't go to plan 115: GA back to basics: Forced landings without power 116: GA back to basics: Getting through the checkride 117: GA back to basics: Visual Navigation I have not read 100% of these. I have read most of the Airline simulation and I am going back to read up all the GA articles. I have started GA, but want to revisit the entire series. I think this is a great magazine and wish there were more magazines that hit our market. You guys should support them so we don't loose a media source that is great. I can read them on my PC, ipad, and phone with the pocketmags app. Link below to the magazine. 10. Updated product:Milviz MD530 Hi Stephen, You are receiving this email because you're on file as having purchased the MD530 directly from our store. This is an update [180709] that addresses trim issues, adds a Force Trim option for the 530 and fixes the missing wirecutters in P3D. (It has also been made available on the support forum). From our lead systems engineer: "To use the new force trim option use the AMS and click on the new "Controls" section for the 530, and assign a key or button to the force trim trigger. When you are in the cockpit, you must enable the force trim by using the two previously unused switches labelled OVSPD TEST and FAULT TEST. (picture below.) The one on the left turns on the force trim system when in the Up position. The one on the right enables the force trim to work with the rudder too when UP. With a key assigned in AMS and both switches up, a press on the force trim button will make the current cyclic and rudder petal settings the new center point. Thus as soon as you press force trim, return the joystick (and rudder if you have that switch up) to the neutral position. The helicopter should retain its current trim. You can use force trim as often as you'd like. In case you are unfamiliar with it: Force Trim is not an autopilot! Be sure the helicopter is in a stable condition when you push the button. If it's rotating or banking, you'll simply lock in that trend and have to fight it. (This is how it really works, it takes some getting used to.) This can take a great deal of the work out of flying. The real MD530 did not have a force trim, we're adding it as a optional "quality of life" enhancement. ~ Dutch" Your continued support and loyalty is greatly appreciated. All the best,Oisin LittleProduction ManagerMilitary Visualizations77 Mont-Royal West, Suite 402Montreal, QCCanadaH2T2S5 SOURCE INFOwww.milviz.com DEVELOPER POST LINK : www.milviz.com NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : www.milviz.com

  12. I know we have the Maddog, but I have been emailing these guys to do a P3D variant of this plane. For a long time they weren't interested, so it was a surprise when they suddenly announced the v4 compatibility on Facebook. This is a study level airplane with failure simulations. The Super 80 Classic, Super 80 Professional and DC-9 Classic are now coming to Prepar3D! We are currently in beta testing. Release expected soon. It's been a while since I last posted on the website. I appologise for that. During the last few months we've been busy preparing all our aircraft for Prepar3d version 4. We are currently beta testing the aircraft. We have just about completed testing of the DC-9 Classic and Super 80 Pro. Next up is the Super 80 Classic. Unfortunately, I don't have an exact release date for you other than "soon". The P3D versions of our aircraft will be almost the same as the old FSX versions. With the exception of the DC-9 Classic Flight Center which has been implemented in the Super 80 Classic and Super 80 Pro as well, there are no major upgrades or modifications to the aircraft or cockpits. The focus is on bringing the aircraft to P3D. The P3D versions of the Super 80 Classic, Super 80 Pro and DC-9 Classic will be sold as separate products from the FSX versions. Pricing and possible discounts for existing customers has not been finalized yet. 14. WX Advantage Radar update for Prepar3D v4.3 - Released DOWNLOAD FREE UPDATE NOW *This update contains fixes for all platforms and is mandatory for ALL users. The WX Advantage Radar has been upgraded for use in Prepar3D v.4.3. The update also contains several performance upgrades across all simulator platforms! The WX Advantage Radar System is a unique, advanced weather radar system that can be used with ANY 3rd-party weather engine, freeware weather engine, as well as the built-in weather of the flight simulator. Compatible with Microsoft’s Flight Simulator X, FSX:Steam Edition and Lockheed Martin Prepar3D. Each license of the WX Advantage Radar allows activation for all three flight simulators! This advanced radar system includes unique cloudscan and precipitation sync features that will dynamically sync precipitation. Never experience precipitation falling outside indicated radar echoes. The radar includes a new wet runway feature. Though there may be radar echoes nearby, the runways near precipitation will appear as if rain had just fallen. High resolution 3D precipitation density map, which takes advantage of video hardware acceleration for greater performance and level of detail. High resolution precipitation cell data based on cloud density and other weather parameters at the location of each cloud. Precise control of ambient precipitation in the region of the aircraft. The system continuously measures four levels of precipitation: green for light precipitation, yellow for moderate, red for heavy, and magenta for severe precipitation and turbulence. Because the system will continuously measure and sync precipitation, you will receive realistic and accurately placed radar echoes that precisely match depicted atmospheric conditions. Turbulence “intelligence” is built-in to isolate potential radar echoes that may contain moderate to severe turbulence. The WX Advantage Radar System includes full TILT functions to analyze the complete scale of storm structures in real-time and accurately represents the effect of radar attenuation when larger more dense cells are in front of other cells – causing a rain shadow effect. An intuitive, simple to use Aircraft Gauge Management Tool is also included! This tool allows the installation, editing, and removal of the 2D weather radar gauge for any default or 3rd-party aircraft within a few simple steps. The Aircraft Gauge Management Tool includes FOUR different types of 2D gauges: Dark and Clean, Dark with Dirt, Light and Clean, Light with Dirt. You may select which version best represents the cockpit you are flying in as well as easily adjust the aspect ratio, size, and location of the radar gauge prior to opening the flight simulator. The WX Advantage Radar supports multiple screens and can be undocked and placed on a second window. Includes a full active transmitter/receiver range up to 160NM. (FSX and Prepar3D does not support ranges greater than 160NM) The WX Advantage Radar includes gain features to help differentiate between weather and ground clutter. The system includes test/diagnostics, WX (general weather), and WX/T (weather/turbulence) modes. For more information and a comprehensive look at the WX Advantage Radar, please visit our website! 22. MK-Studios Release New Lisbon Previews MK-Studios has given us more photos of their upcoming scenery, Lisbon, over on their Facebook page. These shots show off some of the texturing and gpoly work that has been done by MK-Studios. Based on the shots given, the scenery looks to have very high-quality textures. They have also gone with the approach of the wear and tear look as well based on the tire marks, cracks, and rubber smears on the runways and taxiways. Two of the shots in the post were of the highly detailed Ponte 25 de Abril and the Vasco da Gama bridges, showing how much effort has gone into this product. 25. Time to give this one it's own topic (I'll make one for the A320/A321 as well but for some reason that won't load at this moment). As explained while the graphical work on the A330 is progressing nicely we want to have the A320/A321 out first and have the A318/A319 on the same system status (SP1) as well. So we are not thinking about dates. But so many of the systems have been done already and so many others are the same as in the smaller busses we do not see major issues at this moment. It's just a lot of work, not a lot of unexpected surprises. As you can see from the images, the modeling standard is VERY high, on the same level as the A318/A319 Virtual Cockpit. You can see what the advantage of doing an aircraft directly for 64 bits is, If we would work with a 32 bit model we would never dream of this level of detail and in P3d V4.3, compiled with the very latest compilers the framerates are simply fine. It's a new dawn for the simulator if you start fresh! The images that follow are renders from the 3d tools. in the sim that rendering engine smooth things out a bit and generally makes it look better. Keep that in mind. The prices have not been fully set but should be in the same ballpark as the A318/A319/A320/A321 and there will be a modest discount for people who own any of the current busses because we reuse some parts from the current project (and you know we never ask you to pay more then one time for a file).
