  1. New Just Flight 747 Classic Previews In-sim Over on their Facebook page, Just Flight has posted some new previews of their work-in-progress 747 Classic add-on in-sim. The 747 Classic looks to be one of Just Flight’s most extensive aircraft yet with an extremely comprehensive features list that appears to bring a lot of life and real-world similarities to their rendition of the aircraft which is progressing admirably. There will be three variants of the 747 included along with their real-world engine variations. The feature list is rather extensive so we’ve pulled out some of the most notable features down below, you can learn more about the 747 Classic and view it’s full comprehensive features list on the store page here. The majority of the below previews show the 747 Classic on a scenic flight passing over New York City. It appears to be taking shape quite nicely so far however it certainly appears to be in an early beta stage with some cockpit instruments visibly inactive. Along with that, Just Flight has mentioned that the model is currently undergoing numerous changes based on testing and feedback received meaning we expect to see many changes as new previews emerge. Just Flight state that in the next couple of weeks they’ll be sharing previews of the 747 featuring PBR materials and effects. We’ll ensure to keep up to date on the latest regarding the development of Just Flight’s 747 Classic.   2. Sim-Wings Announce Canary Islands Professional – La Gomera Developer Sim-Wings has announced that they are bringing La Gomera island to the world of Prepar3D. Releasing under the Canary Islands Professional branding, the team are looking to recreate the island and airport of La Gomera. La Gomera airport sits just beside the island of Tenerife and sees just airline Binter Canarias travel to and from Tenerife North. Sim-Wings confirmed that development is being completed by Oliver Pabst and will work seamlessly with their other upcoming offerings such as Tenerife Sur and Gran Canaria.   4. Although it was announced a few years ago, work has continued on Orbx BuildingsHD. Previewed most recently during the Orbx live stream back in December 2018, very little has been said since. The brand new previews found originally on Aurora Simulations show off new building types not seen before. From the previews below, we can see that work continues to be made on ensuring that the buildings match their location in the world accurately to the region they’re in. Different roof tiles, wall styles, structure and more will help BuildingsHD bring the flight simulator to life. Each model is also rendered in 4K for the highest definition possible within the sim. In addition to the previews, a range of features have also been shared, including the fact that AO shadows have been applied to add depth and realism to each model, night lighting will also be included with each model and that the autogen modelling has been created by Bill Womack. Some of those models include fast food restaurants, farm barns and more. Release is expected “this year” and so the developers are asking that you follow them on their social media sites to stay up to date with any new information for Orbx BuildingsHD. Milviz Shows Off King Air 350i Icing Effects It’s been a busy week for Milviz, to say the least, with multiple previews of the ATR having been shown off, in addition to a sneak peak at their upcoming King Air 350i with PBR. Today, Milviz continued the streak of previews on their aircraft with a first look at the icing effects that are going into the product! Do keep in mind that these effects are still very much work-in-progress, but even at this stage they do look rather promising. One would hope that these effects would mean icing consequences are included in the aircraft, though we’ll have to wait and see if that is true or not.   7. In an announcement on their Facebook page, REX Simulations has revealed some development news regarding Skyforce 3D and the upcoming Environment Force for FSX and Prepar3D. Regarding the upcoming utility Environment Force, (The Universal Real-Time Environment Shader Enhancer, Dynamic Weather & Texture Controller), the QA team has completed the latest round of testing which has so far been relatively trouble free with very few issues reported. This is expected to be the last cycle of testing. The popular Skyforce 3D utility is also being improved with Technical Update 2.1. This is scheduled to begin testing later this week. The good news is that this update will be considered as a release candidate with only a couple of rounds of testing expected before its release. The focus of Technical Update 2.1 is improvements to the weather engine, more added features, bug fixes and performance adjustments. A full detailed list of fixes is promised before release and we will bring you the news as soon as we have it.   8. After weeks of teasing, Imaginesim has released their newest update to their Singapore (WSSS) scenery package. The new update primarily focuses on bringing the PBR technology into the airport package to give a much more realistic effect on the texturing and immersion of the airport. PBR technology has been included in the airport to enable a better visual representation of the airport, especially with the new switchable dramatic PBR water reflection and shine texturing. This will make puddles and other wet surfaces look much more realistic than ever before. Other features with the airport include 2K building textures throughout, SODE jetways, accurate AIRAC procedures and also a large number of custom objects in and around the airport. The update also updates the geolocation of the airport within the simulator. Finally, the feature list mentions an ‘Airport Animator Plugin’. This plugin, once released, will enable brand new airport animation from people, mechanical objects and vehicles. This update will be due soon. Milviz Shows Off Functional ATR Cockpit Following months of teasing of the ATR’s cockpit and external models, Milviz has finally shown off a preview of the aircraft with functional displays in the cockpit!   10. Kolibri Simulations Releases Chios Airport New developer on the market, Kolibri Simulations, has proudly released their first scenery: Chios Island National Airport (LGHI). The small airport is located on the large, Greek island of Chios (Khios) just off the coast of Turkey. The airport has a number of connections to Athens and Thessaloniki on the mainland. Some airlines also offer flights to the nearby islands of Samos and Mytiliene. A great addition for anyone looking to do island hopping in the Mediterranean. FSElite Exclusive: PhotoSim Labs Confirm Development of Cuba Scenery New scenery developer PhotoSim Labs has given us the rights to exclusively reveal that their next project, after the Bahamas, will be the entire island of Cuba. The complete project will be done in 5 different sections, with 2 airports contained in each. The first section which is being worked on will be “Isla De La Juventud & Pinar del Rio”. Regardless of which pack, they will contain hundreds of custom buildings, custom vegetation, high-quality ground textures and of course, photo real ground and water textures. Further to the objects, airports and tropical landscaping, PhotoSim Labs will also model the various Russain carriers which sail around the island, as well as be able to take off and land on them. It’s a project on a grand scale. Don’t expect it any time soon, as development is currently in pre-production with multiple photo shoots currently on-going to gather the source material required to create a detailed project such as this. Finally, we can confirm this is a project for FSX/P3Dv4, and will also be converted to X-Plane 11. Once we hear more information regarding PhotoSim Labs and Cuba, we’ll let you know. Aeroplane Heaven Publish More Previews of the E170/175 Earlier this week, Aeroplane Heaven and Feelthere announced that they are in partnership to develop the Embraer E170/175 and E190/195 for P3Dv4. Over on their Facebook page, Aeroplane Heaven has posted 4 new preview photos detailing the external model with different winglet options. Addressing comments, Aeroplane Heaven state that they plan to model the E170 with traditional winglets and the E175 with the newer winglet option. Since then, he has worked on ensuring that the various islands in the Bahamas look and feel like the real thing. We have followed progress extensively over time and pleased to bring you the news that development is almost complete. As previously announced, the complete package will be released in 2-parts. The first part contains South Bimini (MYBS) & Cat Cay (MYCC), and will contain hundreds of hand placed objects, detailed ground textures and a range of other features to give you an immersive experience.   19. Over on their forum, PMDG has announced that they’ve pushed out build 3.00.9329 which implements PBR for Prepar3D v4.4 users. This update release follows after numerous previews posted by PMDG featuring the main feature, PBR which is implemented as of this build. Asides from PBR, other small bug fixes, tweaks and general cleanup have been added to further improve the overall experience which is also available to FSX, FSX-SE and P3D v3 users.   20. On the helicopter flightsimulation facebook page was a posting of using ths FSX plane position and use it to FLY over Google earth in realtime. This coulde be the Ultimate scnery for flightsimming using Google Earth in Hires and 3D. The software in the link was used.   22. Tailstrike Designs Shows Off More Reggio di Calabria Previews Developer Tailstrike Designs has dropped a few more photos of their upcoming Reggio di Calabria (LICR) airport scenery for P3D. While there is no timing for release, the work-in-progress shots show development is moving along. Reggio di Calabria Airport is located in southern Calabria, Italy. Serving more than 500,000 passengers annually, flights come and go to several Italian cities, with seasonal flights coming from further abroad.   23. Navigraph Seeks Beta Testers Over on their Facebook page, Navigraph has put out a post stating that they’re seeking beta testers for an upcoming major revision to Navigraph Charts. The upcoming major revision is said to be a long-anticipated release with Navigraph being committed to providing the best product possible and therefore they are looking to select a broad group of users with a diversity of knowledge. Meaning that notwithstanding your experience in flight simulation or real-world aviation, all you require is a Navigraph Ultimate Subscription to apply. Milviz Previews ATR Cabin and Cockpit Milviz is back once again with more glorious shots of their upcoming ATR 72, and this time of the high-quality virtual cabin and cockpit going into the product! These shots come just a few weeks after Milviz last showed off the ATR in-sim and with PBR applied, so it appears the project is moving at quite a rapid clip.
