  2. FS2Crew: PMDG 737 NGX Reboot - Voice and Button Control (P3D V4) | Update 18/10/2019 09:00 AM The Prepar3D V4 add-on "PMDG 737 NGX Reboot - Voice and Button Control" by FS2Crew has been updated to version 3.4. Following changes have been made: Ultimate Ground Crew X Integration changes: When UGCX Voice Control is active, FS2Crew NGX Reboot ramp agents should no longer respond to any detected voice commands that are intended for the UGCX ramp agents. This saves you the hassle of pressing "Hard Mute" on the FS2Crew Main Panel when you wish to communicate with the UGCX ramp agents to avoid triggering the ramps agents in both programs at the same time. When using Hand Signals only (Engine Start Up without Pushback scenario), UGCX can now remove the PMDG chocks and GPU from the PMDG 737 when you trigger the associated hand signal. The Chocks and GPU are removed via the PMDG FMC menu, so the aircraft must have some power. Other changes: You can no longer select WAI in the Departure Brief since WAI serves no purpose on the ground "Set Engine Bleed 2 On" and "Set Dome Light Off" voice commands fixed SOURCE INFO FS2Crew: PMDG 737 NGX Reboot - Voice and Button Control (P3D V4) | Update WWW.AEROSOFT.COM The Prepar3D V4 add-on " PMDG 737 NGX Reboot - Voice and Button Control " by FS2Crew has been updated to version 3.4 . 8. MK-Studios is not sitting still. Next to developing a completely new version of Tenerife South, which was released not too long ago, the studio has also been working on Tenerife North. This project was announced in November of last year, but we didn’t really hear much about it. MK-Studios has come out of the woodworks a bit, with a few teaser shots of the surrounding area of the airport, and the nearby city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The progress is showing nicely, and the amount of detail in the surrounding area seems very high, much like we’ve come to expect a bit from MK-Studios. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see the airport itself just yet from up close. Other than that MK-Studios is working on the scenery we don’t know anything about it yet, so we’ll keep you posted once we find out more. 10. New announcement: Esellerate closure information and yes, we are having a SALE 40% off! Inbox x You surely must have got news of the upcoming Esellerate closure. Digital River, which is Esellerate parent company, has decided to streamline their offer, and will stop Esellerate sales starting today, July 1st 2019. How this affects FSDT customers ? Not much. We took all the steps to be sure the transition will be as smooth as possible, and here's some infos about what to expect: - Starting July 1st 2019, our products will be sold on a different Digital River service, called MyCommerce Share-it. There's nothing much to say about it, it's still the same company, the look of the shop is a bit different, but it's really a minor issue. - Esellerate Activation servers, which is probably what might concerns users more, will continue to work until September 30th. This means simply nothing will change, in relationship to activation of existing orders, until that date. - New orders made starting from July 1st on MyCommerce, will use a different licensing system, called Quick License Manager, made by the Canadian company SORACO. It's a company that does only one thing: provide licensing systems to software developers and running servers. Their software is more flexible than Esellerate, it's well maintained and they have terrific support. The licensing system has several new features which weren't available on Esellerate, which should make users life easier when dealing with reinstalls. With the GSX PBR update we released today, our software has been updated to support BOTH licensing systems at the same time, and this allowed us to prevent any service interruption, because your old Esellerate Serial Number will surely work as it always did with Esellerate, and when Esellerate will close down their Activation servers entirely, your OLD Serial Number from Esellerate will continue to work on SORACO, as if nothing happened, with no intervention required on your part. This is possible, because we have uploaded ALL the Esellerate Serial Numbers we ever generated along the years to the new system, so they will be recognized there, even when Esellerate will be gone. This regardless where you bought an FSDT product from, for example from other retailers. ALL our Serial Numbers from Esellerate will be moved on SORACO, and can be reactivated there. There's nothing you are supposed to do, other than keeping tabs of your Serial Number, which will be required *after* you'll change hardware or reinstall Windows. RETRIEVING PAST ORDERS - Until September 30th, Esellerate will still work, and you can use the familiar procedure explained on our FAQ, to retrieve any past orders you might have lost. But keep in mind the issue of the 10 years time limit, explained here: http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,19559.0.html This is valid only for orders made on our site, using the Esellerate store. If you bought any FSDT products from a retailer, like Simmarket, FSPS or PC Aviator, you should use the retailer own procedures to retrieve lost orders, which contains your original Serial Number, which will work on Esellerate until the end of September, but it's ready to be activated on SORACO. IS THIS NEW LICENSING SYSTEM BETTER THAN ESELLERATE ? SORACO is surely a more modern system, is more tested with the latest OS (Esellerate last update of their .DLL happened in 2007), it's well maintained, and it has more features. A good one is the ability for users to Deactivate a license even when the PC which was tied to no longer works or has been sold/disposed. Before, you could Deactivate only when the product was fully activated on a working system. The offline activation without internet has a slicker interface, and doesn't require 2 separate PCs, since it works with any mobile phone, using the phone camera to scan a QR code that will point the phone browser over the web page with an activation code that can be typed back into the offline computer. You now can check how many activation you used and how many you have left, from the same interface that controls Deactivation. If you want to have a look at how the self-service site from SORACO looks like, this is the address: https://qlm1.net/virtualisoftware/qlmcustomersite/ If you still don't see your old Serial Numbers yet, fear not, we are still moving some of them, and the process will be completed in the next few days. Not a problem now, since Esellerate will still work for 3 months. To recap, you don't have to worry about the Esellerate closure, and everything has been setup to provide service with no interruptions. Having said that, what's the best way to test our new Ecommerce site ? BY HAVING A SALE, of course! Starting today, for the next 10 days, you can buy every FSDT product with an hefty 40% discount, using the following Coupon Code in the "Redeem Coupon Code" field of the ordering page: SORRYWEARELATE Be sure to click the "Update" link, and verify the Coupon has been accepted and the price changes. 11. New announcement: GSX PBR Update Fsdreamteam is happy to announce the release of the long awaited FREE PBR update for GSX. This is, by far, the biggest update GSX ever got, and it has been in development for the past 6 months. Here's the release notes: https://www.fsdreamteam.com/couatl_liveupdate_notes.html Let's go through the main ones: - Custom Pushback improved, with visual customization in the editor, using two modes, Snap to AFCAD lines and Free mode. Yes, while the main focus was the PBR update, we would like to start with this "surprise" feature, which we kept under wraps so far. This is only the FIRST step of the planned Pushback Remake, which will hopefully be the focus of the next major update, but we wanted to start something as soon as possible, to give something to play with for all of you passionate about customization. And even if you aren't, we are sure there are many talented users and scenery developers that will share their creations. The main improvement of the Custom Pushback is the ability to set custom pushback points visually, like other GSX vehicles, without having to insert Lat/Lon coordinates manually. In addition to that, the Pushback customization works in two different ways: Snap Mode and Free Mode. The Free mode is where the power really lies. Instead of being constrained by an existing node of the AFCAD, GSX can be set to use a final point that can be freely specified, both in location and in the final heading AND an "anchor" middle point, which can also be specified freely, through which a smooth curve will be automatically fitted, without being constrained by the location of nodes in the AFCAD. This will allow GSX to do tricky Pushbacks which weren't possible before, especially in tight spaces, and the final point you'll specify, will result in the airplane front gear to be placed exactly where you wanted to be, with the desired heading. This is just the first step of the overall Pushback revamping, we won't surely stop here, and push/pull and gate-to-gate will come but, we wanted to release it as soon as possible with the feature that affected the most those creating airports customizations. - (P3D4.4+ only): Most objects remade in native P3D4 PBR format, with entirely new models and animations. We haven't "just" updated the textures to PBR. Lots of GSX objects started to show their age and, the experience of working with PBR even before P3D4 got it, has told us that, "just" updating textures won't give very good results. For PBR to be really effective, the object must be remade, so textures could be generated in a coherent way, starting from the modeling, which affects the choice of materials and how they react to light. That's why this update took so long: after we started to see how much better the remade objects looked like, we keep remaking them, and this took the better part of the past 6 months. Lots of human animations have been improved a lot, by using the native P3D4 SDK. Human animation never looked very good, because we were constrained by the old 22-bones skeletons to be compatible with FSX. Now, we remade lots of characters using skeletons with 64 bones, which moves more smoothly and less robotic. The better animation system, combined with PBR, can be seen in the Marshaller, which looks way better now (and we have 4 male and 2 female models, instead of just one), and in most of the drivers in vehicles, like the passenger stairs, the refueler, the passenger truck and the baggage truck. - (P3D4.4+ only): New Towbarless Pushback models in PBR, with several color variations, which can raise/lower the airplane gear during operations. You might have seen this in our last video, the new Pushback vehicle is much more detailed, and when seen up close, will show the mechanism raising the airplane nose gear. - (P3D4.4+ with GSX Level 2 only): New Fuel Hydrant service vehicle. This is the only feature which requires the Level 2 Expansion. This vehicle + animation alone took about 2 months of work, since it's very tricky to do, and coordinate so many parts like the two guys, the cable which goes on ground, the one which goes up with the platform, etc. It comes with several nice features, like a working fuel display which even shows the fuel price, pulling the cost of the crude aviation oil from the internet, and showing your fuel bill at the end. - (P3D4.4+ only): Custom Camera system, to easily focus GSX objects activities. This is a feature which uses some of the latest additions to the P3D SDK, and it brings up the level of immersion. Without having to use any 3rd party camera add-ons, each GSX vehicle now has its own custom camera views, because the new vehicles and characters are so much better, they deserve to be seen up close. And, it's very fun to be able to follow all vehicles, even those coming from far away, and look at them from different angles. Be sure to check the various 1st person views, which will place you in the driver seat. What we like most of this feature, is that it's a totally native P3D4 feature, made in the most clean way, with no hacks of any kind, and with zero impact on performances, since it just use the existing camera system of the simulator. - NEW (P3D4.4+ only): Support for Attached Objects for better efficiency, performance and variety of characters. This is a bit technical, but it's another way to use a very recent feature of the P3D4 SDK to get better looking stuff, better flexibility AND improved performances as well. Before, a character like a driver was embedded into its own vehicle. This limited the variety to maybe changing its vest, but not much more. Now, using some native P3D4 features, we decoupled the driver from the vehicle, so they can be choose with more freedom and without unnecessarily grow all the object sizes and polygonal count. - (P3D4.4+ only): Vehicle customization system remade, using DirectX-based logos, for much easier user customization and flexibility. The old PaintKit is now deprecated in P3D4. This feature is HUGE, and it uses our exclusive DirectX 11 rendering we introduced in GSX L2 for Jetway Numbers, and extends it to almost all the customizable logos. This gives us several big advantages 1) It's WAY easier to create a custom logo. Instead of struggling with rules and scoring like in the old PaintKit, you now simply pick up a .PNG or .JPG file, and the GSX editor will automatically convert to the proper .DDS format, and will use DirectX to render it on the logo. And this can be used for Jetways, Ground Operators and Catering operators. 2) We have a massive benefit in performances, especially regarding startup time, because we reduced the number of objects by about 7000 less. Before, each new operator added hundreds of new Simobject variations ("repaints"), but now we have only a few "Base" color variations, to which the operator logo can be applied to, so we gain more variations and we reduce the number of installed Simobjects in the sim by a big factor, which improves both startup times and speed up the airplane selection menu and the time it takes to GSX to find objects after its menu gets called. 3) Multiple Base colors + Unlimited user logos make it easier to represent most real world operators, not just in white. And, DirectX rendering allowed nice features like having ULDs, each one with their individual code plates. - (P3D 4.4+ only) Several readouts which were made using multiple Simobjects (each one for each letter, which is the only way to do that in FSX), now used DirectX rendering, which is way faster, way reliable, and less impacting on performances. Some example are the Marshaller distance readout, the Fuel Counters and various information text in the parking customization editor. (P3D4.4+ only): Custom cameras active when editing a parking or the airplane configuration, making it easier to move objects or customize doors precisely. Lots of new ways for airplane developers to interact with GSX. We worked closely with some of the best 3rd party developers out there, like Aerosoft, FS Labs, Leonardo and others, which will release updates to their products to better integrate with GSX. We strongly believe that it's in the best interest of the community to cooperate, and all these improvements we added were made following suggestions from these fine developers. Some of the things which will be possible for 3rd party airplanes are: 1) They can control exactly how many pilots and how many crew will board/unboard the airplane. And, they can even tell GSX NOT to disembark anybody (or, for example, leave the pilots on board, but switch the crew), to simulate short turnarounds. 2) They can check the exact moment the GSX Refueling Hose is connected, so they could synchronize their custom refueling simulation with GSX animations more precisely. 3) They can enable external power if a GSX jetway equipped with a Power Unit is connected, and they can even let the display on the Power Unit show the battery being charged, even if they use a non-standard variable. 4) They can check the fuel price and the name of the refueling operator used by GSX 5) They can check the kind of deicing liquid used by GSX, and calculate holdover times based on that. Those are just the main new features. I suggest checking the release notes again to know what has been fixed, but the list is not even complete, those bugfixes are only the ones which were discussed a lot during these past months. The manual has been updated too, and it has grown by more than 20 pages, because of all the new options added. We thank everybody for having waited patiently for this update, and we hope you'll enjoy it. A BIG thanks to all our testers, and a special thank to Javier "Cartayna", who suffered through a very long beta testing cycle, and helped us find so many issues. HOW DO YOU GET THE UPDATE ? The update can be obtained either by running the FSDT Live Update from its Icon on the Desktop, or by downloading again the Full GSX Installer. There's not much difference, both methods are supposed to work just the same, and the Live Update will be run at the end of the Full installer just the same, in case we'll add some latest-minute fixes after the full installer release. In general, we noticed that, due to the large number of updated files and new files to be downloaded, it might be best to use the FULL Installer method. Starting with the PMDG 737NG3, the first piece of the information is that it is a base package for Prepar3D V4.5. It has been confirmed that a lot of work has gone into creating a brand new 737 package, which will include new fluid and thermal models for pneumatic, hydraulic, pressurization, engine oil and fuel systems. Robert also said that the new PMDG 737NG3 will also feature much-improved accuracy for the electrical system, along with greater complexity in the systems themselves. Furthermore, it has been confirmed a fully integrated EFB system will be included in the 737NGX from PMDG. Of course, there is also a range of other features not yet announced, including those never seen before in a PMDG product. Beta testing has not started yet, and initially, the team will be asked to simply enjoy and absorb the details from the product before being allowed to show their previews to the world. No release date information was given. Moving onto PMDG Global Flight Operations, the team are finishing up figuring out the final technical hurdles they are experiencing with a “never before seen” feature in the sim. The current plan for roll out is to be gradual in nature. Once the new PMDG eCommerce solution is online, the team will start to invite users in to begin testing everything. The reason for the gradual role out is to test server load without causing issues. More information on when this will happen will follow soon. As mentioned, there will soon be an overhaul on the PMDG eCommerce solution, which will see a vastly improved user experience. Keen to make sure that the process is as simple as possible, PMDG has invested a lot of time, money and energy into ensuring that all order history and data can be moved across simply. This new eCommerce solution should be online in a few weeks. PMDG have said that they will be requiring all customers to reset their passwords as it is “[…]best for the security of customer data and because our new system will have much higher standards for security [..]”. This isn’t to suggest that the current security is lax or has been compromised, but simply a best practice. Finally, Robert touched on future updates for the PMDG 777 and the 747. There will be some product updates in the near future, especially with the release of PMDG’s Global Flight Operations. The 747 will most likely be first to implement the new features required by GFO, with the 777 following afterwards due to the number of changes required going forward. That concludes the roadmap details from PMDG right now. Members of the team have been travelling across the Atlantic in their DC-3 from Washington, DC to Duxford, England in aid of celebrating the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the 70th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift. You can find full details and even track the flights by reading this forum thread on the PMDG forums. The systems respond accurately to both correct and incorrect configurations. APU – fully simulated Electrical system – fully simulated, including simulation of all TRs (transformer-rectifiers), buses, and relays Pneumatic system – fully simulated. Responds to various configurations. Air system (including packs) – fully simulated, including temperature zone simulation. The various zone temperatures are modelled, as are air mixing and auto/manual modes of operation. Pressurisation system: – Fully simulated. The system uses a physics-based approach to modelling cabin pressure and responds to the external environment. – The system also responds to various configurations, such as whether or not the toilet fan is operating, which affects air out-flow – Both positive and negative pressure-relief valves are modelled, in addition to auto/manual modes of operation Hydraulic system and brake systems: – All systems are modelled, with accurate engine and air-driven hydraulic pump simulation – System uses hydraulic pressure, and the braking systems are both modelled and draw hydraulic pressure accordingly from the primary systems when pressurised – The reserve braking system and accumulators are modelled in the braking systems, as is the Number 4 electric pump with correct operational limits. The braking system in use can be selected from the switch on the Captain’s side main panel. Fuel system: – Fully simulated, including accurate fuel temperature modelling, icing, and fuel heaters (requiring bleed air to be present for operation) – Jet A fuel is modelled, with a freezing temperature of -40 degrees C. The system also simulates fuel waxing and detection of ice crystals in the fuel at ca. -35 degress C with the associated ICING lights. Engines will be starved of fuel if the fuel temperature reaches or exceeds -40 degrees C. – All crossfeed and boost pump operations are modelled, and engines can be gravity fed, fed from their respective tank, or fed from the crossfeed, depending on system configuration – Fuel is accurately and correctly taken from whichever tanks are supplying fuel at pressure – Fuel scavenge pump is modelled, with associated limitations Fuel dump system – fully simulated Fire systems – fully simulated, not only test capability but also operational Anti-skid system – fully simulated Gear system and steering – fully simulated Flight controls – fully simulated, including the ability to isolate systems with a corresponding reduction in the effectiveness of controls Flight instruments: – Air-data driven instruments including airspeed, altimeter, VSI are fully simulated using a physics-based system – System correctly models the pitot and static systems, and full ice modelling of one or both (pitot and/or static) systems, with correct effects upon the affected instruments Captain, F/O and auxiliary systems are modelled (four in total) and drive their associated instruments, with complete instrument source switching Additional effects due to aerodynamics are modelled, including differential pressures around the static ports due to AoA (angle of attack) and Beta (sideslip) affecting most notably the standby altimeter, but also the other ADC-driven instruments to a lesser effect (due to compensation built into the ADC). Altimeters and ASIs are subject to temperature (density) error. Air data simulation – complete and independent simulation of the atmosphere is present, to include humidity and air density. Systems are affected by air density where appropriate, and not air pressure as is (incorrectly) the case elsewhere. Engines – A custom thrust model is implemented, allowing accurate engine performance modelling and engine instrumentation. This translates to accurate aircraft performance and allows the aircraft to be flown ‘by the book’ regarding fuel flows and expected speeds (many FS aircraft don’t settle at a certain speed or settle at an incorrect speed). The custom model allows accurate performance across a very wide range of the flight envelope, from sea level to FL450. – Accurate engine performance also means accurate fuel consumption, and optimum/long-range cruise Mach number (M 0.83 for the -100/-200) now means something. Fly faster or slower than this optimum, and maximum range will not be achieved due to the increased fuel burns required. – Water injection is also accurately modelled, offering increased thrust at take-off. Usage of the system requires correct configuration and the availability of water. The mass of this water is also not insignificant – full water quantity is also accounted for in the flight model. – Engine start-up and shutdown are accurately modelled, including max. motoring RPM being linked to bleed air pressure – Advanced engine behaviours typical of non-FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control) control. The fuel flow metering system is modelled, meaning that if large thrust changes are made quickly, especially from low RPM, the engines can be overheated or even catch fire. – Engine start procedures must be followed correctly, otherwise hot-starts/fires can occur, combined with failure of the engine to accelerate to idle thrust – EPR is accurately modelled and correctly reflects the thrust output of the engine in response to thrust setting and density altitude CoG computer – the CoG is accurately computed for the aircraft, both on the ground and in flight. As fuel is burned, the CoG shifts and this is reflected in the handling (most notably, trim changes) Gyro instruments – the gyro instruments are faithfully replicated including all drift and acceleration errors, as well as procession errors, ‘apparent’ and ‘real’ wander, ‘transport rate’ corrections etc. Navigation: – The Delco INS is replicated and includes full functionality of all navigation functions and modes. System errors and position drift are also modelled. – VOR and ADF receivers are fully simulated, including advanced behaviours – ILS is custom-coded in order to avoid the many problems associated with the FS ILS system. Auto-flight: – Thrust computer – the thrust-rating computer is fully functional and the EPR mode of automatic thrust is modelled, in addition to Speed and Mach hold functions – Dual autopilots with autoland capability are modelled, together with accurate system limitations and source selection – The flight director system is fully simulated, with source switching and accurate behaviours.
