  8. In this thread we'd like to track all the 3rd party add-ons that are being updated, not new releases! Below are a list of add-ons we know will work in Prepar3D v4. As you find add-ons that are compatible, please don’t hesitate to post in this thread so we can update the growing list of add-ons and Developers that support P3D v4. Fun fact, in v4 your add-ons are kept OUTSIDE of the P3D directory, allowing for swift re-installs in the future and much better curation of your library!   Did you find an add-on that works? Please submit it in a post below!

  10. VC10 Professional - Standard, Super & RAF Compatibility: Flight Simulator X, FSX: Steam Edition, P3D v4, P3D v3, P3D v2, P3D v1 Image: VC10 Jetliner by Just Flight GOO.GL Found on Google from dogsofwarvu.com The VC10 is widely regarded as one of the most graceful jet airliners ever created, with its long slim fuselage, clean angled-back wings and graceful swept-back tail surfaces. The aircraft was designed by Vickers-Armstrongs to fly on long-distance BOAC routes between the UK and Africa and needed to be able to operate from hot and high airports with short runways. This resulted in an aircraft with superb performance, second only to the supersonic Concorde in terms of speed for a jet airliner. The VC10 was introduced into RAF service in 1965, operating in the transport, cargo and in-flight refuelling roles, until its retirement in 2013, nearly 50 years later. VC10 Professional for FSX and P3D includes accurately modelled Standard and Super civilian variants and C1K, K3 and K4 military variants of the VC10 in a variety of liveries covering their time in airline and RAF service. The detailed virtual cockpit features 3D instruments, authentic wear and tear and all four flight crew positions (Captain, Co-Pilot, Flight Engineer and Navigator) modelled in high detail. Comprehensive but easy-to-use systems are simulated, including a realistic fuel system with transfer and jettison functionality, an autopilot with pitch and bank hold, an autothrottle with IAS and MACH hold capabilities and simulated powered flying control units (PFCUs). Realistic engine start procedures are possible with ground air supply and cross-bleed, and autostart (Ctrl+E) compatibility allows you to get airborne quickly. Custom-coded electrical, fuel, hydraulic, pressurisation and navigation systems, including a new Delco Carousel IV-A Inertial Navigation System (INS) unit, will keep even experienced pilots busy! The VC10 is brought to life with distinctive Rolls-Royce Conway engine sounds and accurate flight dynamics based on input from ex-VC10 crew and real-world performance and handling data. 11. Update Post from PMDG – NG3 Possibly Entering Beta Soon PMDG have had time to settle in on their new forums over the past few weeks and it has been a bit quiet from them as of late. However, Robert S Randazzo from PMDG has taken the time to write out a new update post giving a little bit of information on some upcoming developments including the NG3, 747 QOTSII and also Global Flight Ops. The first big piece of news is that the team have made “very good progress” on the NG3. Such good progress, in fact, that beta testing is now being teased to possibly take place soon. In the post from RSR, he said “in a perfect world, we will see beta testing for NG3 commence during the last few days of April, or possibly early May.” More excitingly is that is is also “highly likely” that they won’t have any kind of embargo on sharing images/video of the product. Considering we haven’t seen anything of the product despite all the teasing, we are very excited to see what delights it will bring. The second item on the list is PMDG’s Global Flight Operations. Having announced back at FlightSimExpo 2018, it’s been some time since we’ve seen any progress. Today it was confirmed that some of the API infrastructure has been shared with other developers to begin integration of their products with the Global Flight Operations universe. Sadly, this has caused progress to slow down more than hoped, but it is all needed to ensure it’s a stable product. It was also mentioned that livery painters will also start to see invitations to Global Flight Operations to assist with testing. Here’s hoping that invitation extends to media partners (if you’re reading PMDG…). PMDG also confirmed that a brand new update for the 747 Queen of the Skies II will also see a new update in the coming week (possibly Tuesday or Wednesday), which will include an update to the navdata handling, improvements of LNAV and more. After that update, it has been confirmed an additional update will follow up shortly which will include weather radar compatibility with REX products. The final item on the update post is all to do with the real-world flying commitments with the DC-3. The team, as mentioned before, are taking the aircraft on a world-tour to various airshows across the globe. They are currently working on the final details, but there are going to be lots of opportunities for fans across the world to visit the aircraft and say hi. Finally, there is also the hope of a tracking system page for the DC-3 so you can follow the progress of the journey. They have installed a satellite tracking system to give better coverage when crossing over the Atlantic. That wraps up everything from the post on the new PMDG forums. You can head over their now (you need an account) to see the information in full. SOURCE INFO PMDG Discuss Current On-Going Projects and Forum Move | FSElite FSELITE.NET PMDG’s Robert Randazzo has taken to the Avsim forums to discuss what projects the team are busy working on. 14. FSElite Exclusive: Skyline Simulations Bringing Gibraltar to X-Plane and P3D We are proud to announce, along with Skyline Simulations, a brand new Gibraltar scenery will be coming to both X-Plane and Prepar3D/FSX. Skyline Simulations have brought us products such as Billy Bishop Toronto City and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (KCVG). The team have built up many years of experience in developing products for both primary sims and are now working to bring one the world’s most challenging airports in an updated fashion. Skyline Simulations intend to simulate various parts of the airport which make it so unique. For example, when an aircraft is on approach or preparing for take off, pedestrian and vehicle traffic will stop crossing the runway as per real-world procedures. Further to that, the team intend to take advantage of new technology such as PBR, super high-resolution details, animated hangers and 3D vegetation. Furthermore, they are going to bring the city of Gibraltar to life with custom hotels, hundreds of 3D buildings and high-resolution orthoimagery for the entire area. 19. I don't know anything about these new developers and how good this aircraft will be if it is released, I suppose we'll have to give them a chance, even on April fools day. I A new developer named Wide Body Sim Development has emerged today, with an announcement that they’re developing an A350 XWB Advanced Series for Prepar3D v4.4+. They state “The A350 XWB is one of the most advanced long-range airlines in the world, yet an appropriate replica of this model for flight simulator is still missing. Until now.” According to WBSD, they will be making their A350 study-level, close to the real-world counterpart. This will include Brake to Vacate (BTV), a very advanced bit of software on the A350. They have said, “this is just one of the stunning features we have planned.” More features announced include, 4K textures and PBR, both inside and out. WBSD has said their 3D artist has years of experience and will “deliver a piece of art.” WBSD for the past ten years has worked for a professional company in France which programs systems trainers for airlines worldwide. And now, they will use their experience to provide the flight sim community a study-level A350 XWB. WBSD has said they are essentially porting over systems from their company’s system trainer to Prepar3D, and although this sounds easy, it’s not. They hope for a release in early to mid – 2020. Most of us flightsimmers tend to be very sceptical when it comes to new developers emerging and promising all the perks of a study-level sim with the latest features, as well as a timeframe. But I have to say these guys look like they know what they’re doing. Other large aircraft being developed include Matt Davies’ A380, so hopefully, in future, we should have a study-level A380 and an A350. 😉It's an April fool.😉 To check out their website head here. 20. Well this could have been an April fools but it seems legit. From Aerosoft facebook post We are always trying to make the experience as close as a real pilot experience is. We do not concentrate on things that will never happen in a real Airbus. We simulate flying an Airbus, not a simulator where pilots train for these highly unlikely events. Crew Management is a major part of any training, that’s why you need a co-pilot. Today we start an Open Beta with our Connect Flight Deck V2. We invite every owner of the Airbus professional to take part and help us causing problems. 22. FlyTampa Reveals April Release Date for Las Vegas (KLAS) In a conversation on their forum, popular developer FlyTampa has given their clearest indication yet of an April 2019 release date for their highly anticipated Las Vegas scenery (KLAS) for Prepar3D v4. Click here for our January article on the latest development for Las Vegas. The discussion on the forum began with a light-hearted debate about whether or not regular development previews of upcoming sceneries are a good thing for the community. FlyTampa has acknowledged that too many previews lead to heightened anticipation of an imminent release. They also acknowledged that when development delays occur this can lead to frustration within the community thus putting pressure on the company itself. These issues, as well as the lack of budget infrastructure, are the reasons why FlyTampa are reluctant to reveal pre-planned release dates. FlyTampa were keen to propose a solution by saying; “One solution would be to keep everything under wraps until a release time becomes a certainty”. To finish the conversation, FlyTampa teased by saying; “I don’t think release dates have ever been shared here, but in exception for Vegas, I can share that the plan is for April…this year :)”. 25. Ultimate 787 Update - Version 1.1.3 Released Ultimate 787 Update - Version 1.1.3 Released QualityWings Simulations·Sunday, 24 March 2019 Greetings 787 Drivers! We are excited to announce that Version 1.1.3 of our Ultimate 787 Collection is now available! In an effort to continuously improve our 787, we have invested a lot of time into making this product much more stable, more realistic, more comprehensive and more refined. In short we have made this product much more FUN to fly. Leading the long list of fixes are significant stability improvements that eliminate random CTDs (crash-to-desktop) some users were experiencing. This was largely enabled by the automatic crash detection module we introduced with our previous update. Thank you to everyone who submitted reports! The Flight Dynamics have been further refined for highly accurate fuel flow and climb performance. Further changes address issues related to Panelstate loading, the Autopilot, the Flight Management System, Displays and many more. The full changelog can be found at the end of this press release. But as always this update does not only come with fixes but also some exciting new additions. We are happy to introduce PBR (Physically Based Rendering) to our exterior models in Prepar3D v4.4. We highly encourage everyone to upgrade to the latest version of P3D to benefit from the improved visuals. PBR models will not be available for FSX and outdated versions of P3Dv4. Liveries for the most part do not need to be redownloaded with the exception of Virgin Atlantic.
