  1. So on the cast yall spoke on what could come from a V5 of Prepar3d. The most sensible thing to me is to update the engine. Having more FPS is going to do what lets be honest. All of the things you mentioned that have been available in the other competitor sims have been available for sometime and now V4.4 has brought those things in and its great. But to go down the path of omg I need more frames isnt necessary when the bulk of users cant sustain over 40fps with good scenery/graphics settings for a solid experience. The base engine is still limited in the way it performs and doing some "tweaks" to say oh look at me 100fps doesnt mean squat if the sliders have to come down to a significant level to do it. As it stands, anyone could feasibly get over 100fps right now but again that requires you to have a monitor with the refresh rate to sustain it which means gasp....monitor upgrades and drop the sliders. Additionally your GPU is going to have to work either harder or not at all to get to that point. It has been said that in the sims 30fps is sufficient and to "some" extent I can agree but ideally I feel that 45-60 fps allows for a more fluid representation of what your seeing without having drastic performance issues. Now unless you are running on say a SSD the load times for scenery/graphic draw can be reduced alot but in the end the engine itself isnt all that great. Rewrite the engine code or get something new but to say OMG we need 100fps isnt worth it at all for this sim or the competitor sims...again, excluding DCS because this type of flying doesnt require it UNLESS your one of the many people out there who want to extend their epeens and showoff. Its not say a shooter game that requires you to sustain 60fps or better to have the great gameplay experience and the flight sims dont require the century mark of FPS to have a great flight experience. So rewrite the engine or get a new one which will allow anyone with more current hardware specs to at a minimum run the sim (Prepar3d) at mid slider to higher settings and have a fluid experience without jaggies, freezing etc as the scenery/graphics load. That to me would be the holy grail for Prepar3d and really make it shine. SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK :

  7. Courtesy of FSElite, another developer is starting to showcase P3D V4.4 PBR... == With the excitement of Prepar3D V4.4 now starting to die down, developers are starting to pour development efforts into seeing how they can use the new PBR technology in their products. Leonardo Software has already began showing their progress with their MD-XX series, and FSDreamteam with their upcoming Chicago O’Hare. Today, LatinVFR contacted me to inform me that they have been working on updating their current P3DV4 scenery library to include the new PBR texture set. The first product to be upgraded to include the new textures will be Santiago SCELv2. The product was originally released earlier last month to positive community reviews. The team has since been working on how they can implement the new technology and have given us the first glimpse into how it looks. Developer Ricardo described Prepar3D V4.4 as a “game changer” and is “very surprised they added this on a current version of P3D.” SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://fselite.net/news/fselite-exclusive-latinvfr-first-pbr-previews-of-santiago-scelv2/

  11. Scenery Profiler Update Hi All I'm glad to announce you the official release of Scenery Profiler version 1.5.1. This version corrects a few bugs that occur during database install. There is no more need for a serial key since version 1.5.0, however, fsPilotShop was still distributing a prior and thus incorrect version. For those who bought it from fsPilotshop and encountered the serial key problem, here is how to resolve: 1 - Uninstall any previous version 2 - Delete the C:\ProgramData\Scenery Profiler directory 3 - install the new version. For others users, there are no major bugs fixes so you can still use your current version. The release is available here for download (either as a .zip file or a .exe file): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1CEizcNGRdIwTp8pXpYPSEbTsWM5VWdbs Have fun !!! 20. Sad news this, but at least it should help bring TE England to market quicker. Sad news for those eager to get their hands on it, Orbx openLC Africa has been delayed into 2019. Courtesy of a forum post by Orbx CEO John Venema, we now know what’s been keeping OLC Africa from being in our hands this year. John explains that Africa has been pushed out until February in order for Orbx to finish TrueEarth Great Britain South for P3D. This announcement also comes at a time when Orbx is addressing resources with their new UK development center, which will bring a lot more developers into the fold with the hopes to get back on track with their previously announced roadmap. Coincidentally, if you’d like to work at the aforementioned UK development center, Orbx are currently trying to fill 10+ vacancies so why not shoot them an application if you think you qualify? That was all that was said on openLC Africa for now, and we’ll be sure to keep you informed if and when the status changes on the project. 21. PMDG Statement on P3DV4.4 and Other Items It seems it takes a update from Lockheed Martin to bring some of the biggest developers to come out of the woodwork. Earlier today, PMDG CEO Robert Randazzo gave a brief update regarding various items on their agenda. The first thing that’s important to note is that all current PMDG products that work with Prepar3D V4.3 will work just fine with the newly released version V4.4. When it comes adding PBR, Robert said that it will take some time to roll them out to their product range on a “as ready” basis. They currently have no time frame on it. It was mentioned that they have seen PBR come through the testing process, but documentation on proper implementation wasn’t quite ready. As a result, they decided to wait until the final version was ready before investing the time. It was made clear that once PBR is applied to an aircraft, it will move the required version of Prepar3D to a default of V4.4 and above. It does beg the question, what are the team working on? Well, as previously hinted and discussed, it was finally laid out that the team are “heavily engaged in NG3 development”. NG3 refers to the next version of their popular NGX product, which was released over 7 years ago (yes, really!). It was mentioned a little while back that the Queen of the Skies II would see an update to include the PMDG Rainmaker among other things since the release of the 747-8. It was said today that a “comprehensive” update for the PMDG 747 QOTSII will be pushed via the Ops Center in the upcoming days. The update will feature some efficiency enhancements, cool new features that haven’t been shown off yet and a bunch more. No change log was provided, but once available, we’ll let you know. Finally, PMDG have confirmed the move from Avsim to their own forum will take place soon. The team expect a “soft-opening”, which will mean that both the Avsim and new PMDG forums will be staffed, but once everyone is up to speed, the Avsim one will cease to exist. More information will be provided soon on the PMDG forum. You can read the official statement over on the PMDG forums via Avsim. 22. The release of Prepar3D V4.4 has developers both excited and shared about the new PBR material technology found within the simulator. As discussed in our interview with Adam, many developers have had their hands on it for a while. One such developer is scenery creator FSDreamTeam. The guys previewed Chicago O’Hare a while back, which was poised to make use of P3DV4’s new technology. Today, the team released a short teaser trailer showcasing how PBR will be implemented at the airport. The 2 minute video takes us on a journey though the airport and highlighting the various materials applied to parts of the airport. Whether that be glass, concrete or stone, each material now has its specific value meaning lighting will be accurately reflected. No word on a release date at this point. Chicago O’Hare (KORD) will be available exclusively for Prepar3D V4.
