  1. At the beginning of the year, a newly formed company derived from iniBuilds, iniSimulations came out to announcethat they are developing the Airbus A380-800 for X-Plane 11. They’ve benevolently shared some exclusive previews of their upcoming superjumbo with us. Originally, iniBuilds was created with the intention of being a “flight sim hub” – a primary spot for them and other members to showcase their work such as Tomatoshade profiles, GSX Level 2 profiles and more to the community. Now, iniBuilds has grown into a position where they are able to take their business ventures to the next level thanks to the users of their work. Consequently, at the beginning of the year, they decided to create iniSimulations – an extension to their original company. iniBuilds intends to remain a community-driven freeware hub for all types of tools and tricks to enhance one’s flight-sim experience. iniSimulations, on the other hand, is signifying their flight sim add-on ventures. This is where they came out to announce that they are developing the Airbus A380-800 for X-Plane 11. These previews showcase iniSimulations’ A380 cockpit in-sim and the exterior model in their 3D modelling program. These shots are highly work-in-progress with extensive work to be performed and do not represent the complete product. Along with the previews, iniSimulations have also presented us with a short video previewing some of the basic functions of the A380 flight management system in-sim, again, this is highly work-in-progress and does not represent the complete product. A release date has not yet been confirmed but, the team has established that development is progressing and is ahead of schedule. They intend to announce a further update in the next couple of months. To learn more and to stay on top of iniSimulations’ latest updates, visit their website: inisimulations.com. To discover more about the roots of this project, you can check out the original forum thread here. 2. Additional Aerosoft A330 Professional Cockpit Previews It was stated that the images are currently designed with P3D v4.2 standards, but that PBR layers still have to be added in the future. Furthermore, it was confirmed that that the third MCDU will be used as a ‘settings’ MCDU. Going forward, we’ll make sure that any additional previews from Aerosoft regarding the A330 Professional presents new details or shows off a new feature. Further to the in-sim previews of just a few days ago, Aerosoft has released a few additional previews of the cockpit. Whilst we have seen many of these types of previews from them before, there was an additional bit of news that came with the forum post. SOURCE INFO https://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/138237-aerosoft-a330-professional-preview/&page=12 https://fselite.net/previews/additional-aerosoft-a330-professional-cockpit-previews/?utm_source=article&utm_medium=push

  4. Following their initial PBR progress update two weeks ago, PMDG’s Robert Randazzo has dropped some new mouth-watering previews of the 747-400 QOTS II in all of it’s PBR glory, marking 50 years since the first Boeing 747 took flight. Also, he’s provided a short update in regards to the upcoming PBR update. The below previews of the 747 in its classic launch livery (N401PW) is fully tricked out in what PMDG believes is their final round of changes to PBR rendering on a fully metallic 747-400. Bringing your attention to the reflections on the metal body, you see how PBR breathes air into the queen’s lungs dynamically reflecting the surrounding bed of clouds and skyline from a couple of angles. Following the previous set of previews, take notice of how many improvements and changes have been made in the way PMDG has treated the differences in reflective quality along lap joints and rivet lines in the skin since the last update. The previews don’t end there, included also is some shots of N662US, another one of the first production airframes. Clearly demonstrated in the shots below, is how different the reflection is on the painted surface in comparison to the bare metal surface. PMDG has finished up their PBR implementation for now and is preparing to push it out to the testing team this week. It is expected to be a short test period and once complete, the update should promptly be pushed out via the PMDG Operations Center. In celebration of British Airways’ 100th birthday and the aircraft they are said to be painting in the legacy BOAC livery, PMDG has released a paint of what it should look like (G-BYGC) which can be obtained from the PMDG Operations Center. Furthermore, PMDG will be consolidating Prepar3D v4 compatibility effective with their next update cycle, only v4.4+ of Prepar3D will be supported going forward meaning if you want to obtain the next update, you’ll need to be on v4.4 or greater. This change has no impact on FSX or Prepar3D v3 users. Randazzo will be back in a couple of days with new information on PMDG’s new forum system, the NG3, Global Flight Operations and PMDG’s view on FSX/P3D development moving forward. He might even slide in a remark or two in relation to X-Plane! We’ll endeavour to let you know once this update has been released and of any future update posts on PMDG’s forum. 6. FSElite Exclusive: SSG CRJ-700 WIP Cockpit Previews by MAX DYBA on 5TH FEBRUARY 2019 PREVIEWSXPL We’ve been closely following progress on Supercritical Simulation Group‘s high-fidelity, work-in-progress CRJ-700 for a while now. The team has graciously provided us with some exclusive previews of the CRJ’s work-in-progress cockpit modelled by Andrzej (AJ) Borysewicz and textured by Konstantinos (Kostas) Koronakis in-sim. Formed back in 2011, SSG consists of 7 team members plus technical consultants such as real-world pilots who work very hard to bring quality add-on aircraft to the market for the X-Plane community. Popular aircraft which they’ve developed so far include the SSG E-Jets Evolution Series and 747-8 series. These exclusive previews are the first of many which you’ll be seeing of the SSG CRJ-700’s cockpit in-detail. A lot of attention has been paid to making this cockpit strongly resemble a regularly used Bombardier CRJ-700 with decals, wear, tear and more. The CRJ will include a custom EFB to manage aircraft load, control doors and more. The price will be similar to that of their E-Jets Evolution Series and an end of 2019 release is speculated. Systems are not yet integrated into this version of the aircraft shown meaning we don’t have much information on those as of yet. The systems shown on the PFD and navigational display are only placeholders. All systems will be strung together and coded with SASL and are said to represent their real-world counterparts as closely as possible. Do bear in mind that all of these previews display an incomplete and work-in-progress product and may not at all resemble the final product. You can find out more about SSG’s CRJ-Series by joining their official Facebook group where you can see more previews, videos and ask questions. We’ll ensure to keep you up-to-date on the latest regarding the SSG CRJ-Series for X-Plane 11. 7. FlightSimLabs A320-X Update Previews Back in October, we revealed a range of details regarding the update for the FlightSimLabs A320-X. Although we were originally told it would be out towards the end of 2018, work has been continuing on implementing a range of brand new features. The update, so far, will be quite extensive. On the FlightSimLabs’ forums, Andy Wilson gave a brief glimpse into what the new update looks like so far. Along with the details, three new screenshots were shared. The first screenshot showcases the upcoming ATSU (Air Traffic Service Unit). With the upcoming update, you will be able to request pre-departure clearance (PDC) via a separate request page. In the example below, flight EZY13AQ was cleared by Munich with the departure clearance text you see in the MCDU. Andy says that “our simulation will now allow customers to follow real world PDC/DCL procedures”. It was confirmed that this works for both VATSIM and IVAO. 8. Mega-thread: AOA Simulations Lockheed-Martin F-35A Previews By: Sam Clark February 1, 2019 Military aircraft developers AOA Simulations are nearing completion of their latest project, the F-35A. This is their third X-Plane aircraft, after the F-35B and V-22 Osprey, the most recent of which was released in March last year. ‍ In a Facebook post published on January 30th, the developers show off a new livery for the jet and say; "We are getting closer to release :)" ‍ AOA provide near-daily coverage of their various projects via their Facebook page, though F-35A updates are by far the most popular as the American stealth figher approaches release. The F-35A has a large arsenal of weapons to choose from, all integrated closely with the aircraft itself. AOA have provided a list of the various missiles and guns fitted to the X-Plane version: GAU-22/A four-barrel 25 mm gun 2 x AIM-9X Sidewinder 2 x AIM-120D AMRAAM 8 x GBU-53B Stormbreaker 4 x AGM-158 JASSM (GPS-guided) SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://www.thresholdx.net/news/aoaf35
  9. I can't see much difference, but maybe that's my fault? On their Facebook page, Black Box Simulation has revealed some enticing pictures of their remodelled glareshield/FCU panel in the A340 which is to be included in the v0.90 update. The team has been hard at work remodelling the entire virtual cockpit structure and the work certainly appears to be paying off bringing the cockpit to much more accurately resemble its real-world counterpart. I’ll let the previews above and below speak for themselves. Black Box Simulation has stated that they are working hard to get the update out as soon as possible. They’re aiming to release it in the 1st quarter of 2019. We’ll endeavour to let you know if any new updates or previews surface. You can check out the previous set of previews here. 12. Nimbus Simulation Studios have been working on the Huey since early March, however, it has seen little spotlight since the release of Chicago O'Hare (KORD) V3. The project appears to be back on track, however, with new previews posted on the group's Facebook page. The military utility helicopter was used by the US Army and Air Force during the war in Vietnam, with over 7,000 iterations of 30 variants deployed there. ‍ "Taking the Huey out for a spin at St. Barts (TFFJ)" The previews that surfaced today are of the UH-1 Iroquois flying around the Caribbean island of St. Barth's, which Nimbus developed scenery for. They show a relatively complete helicopter, with functions such as the weight & balance menus being previewed for the first time. 13. Just as I hit ‘publish’ on the previous article, Flightbeam + iBlueYonder developer Bill emailed me with a bunch of brand new images from the soon-to-be-released Portland (KPDX). The images showcase what the current build is looking like. As you can see, there’s a huge amount of detail both inside the airport and beyond. Everything from car parks, office blocks to the neaby IKEA has been faithfully recreated. Dynamic lighting is also shown off, as well as use of wet ground polys for on the ground during rainy weather. We know that we won’t have long to wait, as it’s been confirmed that only a few bits like product pages, installers and manuals need to be completed before it’s released onto the wild.
  14. Orbx seem to be on a preview run with TrueEarth Great Britain South for P3D right now as two new preview threads showcasing the product were created over the past couple of days. Both threads were created by screenshot-extraordinaire Iain Emms and cover various parts of land TrueEarth GB South will cover. The screenshots below include parts of Wales and other scattered areas across the South of England. In one forum thread, both Ed and John from Orbx confirmed that TrueEarth GB for P3D will not feature seasonal texture variation. The reasons include that it would hugely increase the amount of data you would need to download (around 250GB), additional development time and further imagery data. As a result, only Summer textures will be included with the release of TrueEarth Great Britain South, which was unlike TrueEarth Netherlands which included 5 season textures. 16. Courtesy of FSElite, another developer is starting to showcase P3D V4.4 PBR... == With the excitement of Prepar3D V4.4 now starting to die down, developers are starting to pour development efforts into seeing how they can use the new PBR technology in their products. Leonardo Software has already began showing their progress with their MD-XX series, and FSDreamteam with their upcoming Chicago O’Hare. Today, LatinVFR contacted me to inform me that they have been working on updating their current P3DV4 scenery library to include the new PBR texture set. The first product to be upgraded to include the new textures will be Santiago SCELv2. The product was originally released earlier last month to positive community reviews. The team has since been working on how they can implement the new technology and have given us the first glimpse into how it looks. Developer Ricardo described Prepar3D V4.4 as a “game changer” and is “very surprised they added this on a current version of P3D.” SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://fselite.net/news/fselite-exclusive-latinvfr-first-pbr-previews-of-santiago-scelv2/

  18. Not long ago, HiFi Simulations gave the first concrete details regarding their upcoming Active Sky for X-Plane. Many fans were excited to see how the weather engine would impact the simulation. On a brand new page dedicated to the product, HiFi has shown off new screenshots and revealed some brand new details. As previously mentioned, it is planned to be released in December 2018. It is currently being put through release candidate testing right now with a release soon to follow. As far as pricing, the team revealed that the initial price is planned to be $39.99. This will be a special discounted price to say thanks to the fans who have stuck by the team over the years. HiFi confirmed that the price will eventually increase. As with other Active Sky products, the team intend to release updates throughout the lifecycle of the product. These updates are likely to be quality of life updates, but they will be provided free of charge. The details of what these updates provide have yet to be determined. However, just like FSX/P3D users have been used to, major version changes will see either a new product being released or a charge being applied to update. If their record of FSX/P3D products holds the same though, then these updates will be significant and offer good value for money. As for current users of FSX/P3D products, there will not be any cross-grade discount. This is down to the cost and 3 year development lead the product has had. 19. FSElite Exclusive: Envtex SP2 Previews TOGA Projects have kindly provided us with some exclusive Envtex Service Pack 2 information and eye-catching previews to share. Word of SP2 comes nearly two years after the initial release of Envtex which has come a long way in terms of development. Continuing development and providing support for Envtex is really important to the developers. They would like to thank everyone who has believed in and supported their team in one way or another. TOGA Projects endeavour to deliver a low-cost, user-friendly and high quality but most importantly, a complete utility. They hope they’ve been able to bring such a product to the market with such qualities but with always having room for improvements. The devs took a look back at the first version of Envtex and realised how much the current product has evolved. Almost every file was updated and they could almost say that it’s a completely new product with no upgrade feed ever to be charged to you, the end user. Based on the feedback received, the devs have worked on many aspects of the utility but they’ve especially paid attention to the clouds which was understood to be a weak point. Creating new cloud models was a pointless idea as the majority of the community use HiFi ASCA and REX SkyForce 3D clouds, so they’ve decided to support both, as they do bring along their own cloud textures, TOGA Projects felt that they could bring something different that would fit both products. The challenge here was to make the perfect compromise between realistic-looking soft clouds and photorealistic clouds. Hopefully, they’ve succeeded in doing so but with the end-result to rely on community’s judgement. Although clouds are not the only enhancement. Many textures were reworked from scratch such as the airport textures which will bring life to freeware and default airports. There is a pretty extensive but comprehensive SP2 changelog at the end of this article for you to view. TOGA Projects are in the final stages of completing the new version of Envdir to further move onto the beta testing phase. The previews shown are still work-in-progress as there is still some fine-tuning going on although the final result should be really close if not identical. 23. The last we’ve seen of Carenado’s work-in-progress Falcon 50 was back in September. This month, they’re back with a plethora of in-sim previews of the fully textured and modeled interior, cockpit and exterior over on their Facebook page. The Dassault Falcon 50 is a French-made, long-range, business trijet primarily used by wealthy corporate individuals and Air Forces around the world. From the previews, we can see that the Falcon 50 is retrofitted with Carenado’s own Proline 21 avionics. Texture-wise, it looks immaculate as always just like with most of Carenado’s add-ons having the aircraft interior fully-textured all the way to the back of the of the fuselage with detail all over. We don’t have much information on the Falcon 50 regarding a release date or full feature list but a release may be very likely on the horizon by the look of these previews.
