View this email in your browser HotStart TBM 900 v1.1.7 Update! Ready for download now... Hello Stephen, X-Aviation and HotStart are proud to announce the release of the TBM 900 v1.1.7 update. Click here and login! Simply re-download your original purchase. Here's what's changed in version 1.1.7: Improvements / New Features: Implemented waypoint VNAV constraint entry via the keypad numerical keys. Dropped WXR resolution to get more performance and more realistic "grainy" radar look. Implemented rain, ice and HUD rendering in VR. All sidebar drawer buttons are now available in Plugins menu for enhanced VR usability. All windows can now be opened natively in VR. Reorganized plugins menu to make it more logical. Bug Fixes: Rain effect compute shader would misbehave when camera was far away from aircraft. Legacy rain effect would misbehave when sim was paused. Fixed crash when using multiple monitors on Windows. Fixed deadlock in synthetic vision code causing the terrain not to update and sim to hang when SVS is toggled. Handle the case when minimums are set to 10,000 ft and the number goes outside the PFD box. Missing tire_skid_speed_mtr_sec broke XP11.26 compatibility. Fixed dark outline around windshield due to bad stencil masking in normal vector computation. Copyright on MFD should show build year. Build OpenGPWS with Garmin audio, not Honeywell. Don't allow overflowing the approach minimums value. Disable all GL arrays before starting effects rendering to avoid crashes when arrays are left enabled by external code. Refined gear brake failure messages. Added check for O2 refill to only allow it to be done when the tank isn't full. Fuselage & gear leg repair buttons shouldn't be available when the parts are ok. Fuel caps shouldn't be auto-closed when the user reopens the payload manager after leaving them open. Added crash sound when the aircraft falls on the tail or nose. Moved headset audio source position to right seat cushion to match visual model. As always, thanks for purchasing from X-Aviation! 12. LiveTraffic Last updated 6 days ago LiveTraffic is a plugin for the flight simulator X-Plane to show real-life traffic, based on publicly available live flight data, as additional planes within X-Plane. Long queues at KLAS, 07-JAN-2019, 14:42 It came into being when I was looking at plugins simulating additional traffic in X-Plane and thinking at that time: Why do they try to simulate traffic and invent flight models when there is flight data available online which brings yet another piece of reality into the simulation? Why can't one just read the data and display the aircraft? Well...turned out it's not that easy 😏 I spent an awful lot of time dealing with the inaccuracies of the data sources, see Limitations. There are only timestamps and positions. Heading and speed is point-in-time info but not a reliable vector to the next position. There is no information on pitch or bank angle, or on gear or flaps positions. There is no info where exactly a plane touched or left ground. There are several data feeders, which aren't in synch and contradict each other. So I ended up inventing my own flight models to make aircrafts move more or less smoothly from one data point to the next, extend gear and flaps, pitch up an down, flare, rotate etc. Because an airport is a naturally interesting hot spot of plane movements, but due to simple physics often only sparingly covered with ADS-B receivers and hence live data, there is even lots of code to simulate final approach, landing, and roll-out for planes for which data coverage ends during approach. There is extensive "data cleansing", which removes up to half the data...and many thanks here to "my" beta testers, who spent hours to find, test out, and document hot spots of inaccuracies in the world! Status Available and downloadable from X-Plane.org. License MIT License, essentially freeware. Open Source, available on GitHub. And as I keep getting questions to that respect: It means LiveTraffic is freeware at no cost. Now and in the future. I will not even provide an option for donations. Instead, consider supporting the tracking data services, which provide the raw data, which LiveTraffic only enables to show traffic. Credits Man thanks to my beta testers 172MC, Flap, GAK, safeflight, FlyMe2dMoon, KosFlyer, akports103, Torkermax, and mainbrain! Thanks to sparker for providing the Linux build environment based on Docker. LiveTraffic is based on a number of other great libraries and APIs, most notably: X-Plane APIs to integrate with X-Plane libxplanemp for display of CSL models, which is also the basis for XSquawkBox, X-IvAp, and the like, thanks to kuroneko for his continued support! CURL for network protocol support parson as JSON parser libpng, required by libxplanemp libz/zlib, required by libpng And let's not forget about the CSL model developers like Bluebell, Oktalist, and X-CSL, to name just a few. Without them there would only be labels in the sky but no planes. 13. The VSKYLABS Test-Pilot: ICON-A5 Project v1.0 was just released! This project is part of the VSKYLABS 'Test-Pilot' series, designed specifically for use with X-Plane 11.30+ cutting edge Experimental Flight Model (should be enabled in X-Plane's General Settings menu). The ICON-A5 is an American Light Sport Aircraft Single Engine amphibious aircraft. It is constructed mostly from composites materials (carbon fiber) and powered by the electronically fuel injected Rotax 921iS engine. It was designed to allow a close and intimate interaction with the world, in the form of an amphibious aircraft with folding wings. This combination is allowing the A5 to be operated to and from almost every spot on the planet, from smooth short runways, dirt or beach strips...parked in a home-garage! The ICON-A5 design concept was to make it accessible and safe for aviation new-comers and beginner pilots, deriving a straight forward, car-like cockpit features and displays along with various safety systems and safety oriented flying characteristics such as the Anti-Spin aerodynamic design. The A5 is taking advantage of an Angle of Attack Gauge (AoA) which is “summing up” the aircraft’s current aerodynamic situation at any speed load and maneuver. The A5 is also designed to be a spin-resistant aircraft, which will allow continuous control during stall. The A5 is equipped with a ballistic parachute system. Project Highlights: The most comprehensive VSKYLABS Project up to date. VSKYLABS 'Test-Pilot' Project. Highly defined flight dynamics model of the ICON-A5, built around the powerful, native X-Plane 11.30+ 'Experimental Flight Model' environment (must be selected in the General settings window in X-Plane 11). 'Built for VR' - Virtual Reality Ready (of course it is a joy to fly in 2D...). Unique aspects of the ICON-A5 are simulated and are part of the flying experience along with the unique and authentic systems, cockpit panels and display systems: Highly detailed, fully animated aircraft exterior and interior 3D model. Fully functional, authentic A5 Angle of Attack display system. Unique and authentic iconography and embedded into the display systems in the cockpit. CAP system (Ballistic Parachute system) modeled along with automatic gear retraction upon activation. Bilge water build-up and purge system are modeled. Removable cockpit windows. 15. Today, our friends at PropStrike Studio introduced us to Ken Myles, a former pilot at the Quatam River Airport, which the group had previously released a scenery for. Ken shared his stories from the logging facility in south-central B.C., which inspired the developers to create a freeware mod for the default C172 to simulate Myles' adventures in Laminar's sim. The mod will feature a cargo variant of Cessna's most iconic plane, as well as tundra tyres, an Angle-of-Attack indicator and some fishing rods "to make things a little more fun". Also included will be a tail-dragger version, reminiscent of the Cessna 170 that proceeded it. The team is working with the SimCoders to bring native integration with the REP package for the Laminar C172. 19. Posted February 21 (edited) PilotAlva Hello everyone, first of all apologies to everyone about the lack of presence in the forums , things have not been going according to what I had envisioned and for that Im terribly sorry This of course brings me to the next point: There will be a big update for the super cub coming in the following months: - Bug Fixes I have gathered all the user reports in the forums regarding usability issues with the plane, those will be addressed plus, - New set of avionics: 11.30 new autopilots will finally fix the current ap bugs, new AH mechanics and new digital avionics (transponder will 100% match the real unit down to every page in the manual, even the light sensor will be working) the radio stack as well will be fixed in terms of presentation (better reflectivity effects and better digital display sharpness as well as true behavior regarding start up and shut down of the unit) - librain: of course - Flexible tundras: there will be an option for the end user to either have standard (fixed) tundras and flexible ones, due to the simulator limitations it might not look proper in certain situations so you guys will have the option to choose which tires you like the most. Regarding tundras , I've have contacted Alaskan Bushwheels and they have provided with a lot of info regarding the profile shape of their tires, this will be incorporated in the 3d - 3d passengers : their 3d will be upgraded to match the current standard - REP: latest version will be integrated Regarding FMOD and Flight Model changes: Im not currently in a position to guarantee upgrades in these areas , any news regarding those things and this post will be updated regarding this subject If anyone has additional requests (withing reason) and new bugs to report , please use this thread and I will gather all the reported info to make additional changes before release -------------------------------- To all the users of the old Aerosimulations store a new email account has been created to help you guys received all the updates of the supercub Please send an email to asdg.help@gmail.com with a proof of purchase and your email linked to the org store account Edit: Starting from today can directly send a message to Nicolas (nicolas at x-plane dot org) with proof of purchase and you will have access to the plane in your store account, everyone that has already sent their emails to the temporary gmail account there is no need to resend anything to Nicolas as those mails have been already processed, the plane should appear in your accounts this week the temporary gmail account will no longer be monitored ------------------------------ Lastly I would like to be very clear regarding future simulator updates: If laminar decides once again to throw the house out the window and release an update that renders the plane unflyable it is probably unlikely that a new patch will be released to adress the issue (unless it only revolves planemaker changes and even then), once this 11.30 update releases I will be retiring from ASDG and the supercub project so anything that happens to it in the future it would be outside my knowledge A big thank you to everyone for supporting us all this time, Im sure everyone will enjoy the new update All the best! 20. Aerosoft Announces Manchester (EGCC) For X-Plane 11 Over on the Aerosoft forums, the team has announced that they are bringing a brand new version of Manchester Airport (EGCC) to X-Plane 11. It was made clear that this is a brand new development and not a port of their original X-Plane 10 version. Very little other information was shared, however, a few screenshots were released showcasing the projects current development status. 21. SouthWings Releases Additional Previews and Information for Ivalo X-Plane SouthWings has treated us to some brand new previews and information for their upcoming Ivalo (EFIV) scenery. In a Facebook post, SouthWings gave us some more previews of the scenery. Its certainly developing well and looks near enough complete. The developer stated that they hope to release the scenery in just a few days. SouthWings announced that the scenery now features fully custom ground textures and runway markings. Also addressed was the lack of background to the scenery due to incompatible satellite images. When one becomes available they plan to add it in a future update. View this email in your browser HotStart TBM 900 v1.1.6 Update Comment Please Read... Hello Stephen, Earlier this morning we released v1.1.6 of the TBM 900. Some customers began reporting to us they were still getting v1.1.4-c installed regardless of how many download attempts they made of 1.1.6. We have identified the problem here and corrected it. Please re-download the new installer and run it to ensure you have 1.1.6 properly installed. IMPORTANT FOR MAC USERS! You must first ensure you have ejected any DMG files associated to TBM installers before running the new one or you will receive component not found errors during download and install! We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and hope you will be able to enjoy a weekend filled with TBM flying! Click here and login! Simply re-download your original purchase. Here's what's changed in version 1.1.6: Improvements / New Features: Implemented new LOC guidance code to work around the need to set CDI to front course. Implemented YD phaseout with airspeed. Added multi-threaded rendering support for synthetic vision. SYN VIS should now be much cheaper on performance. New rain effects using async compute. Available only on Windows & Linux. Mac gets the old rain effect. Implemented the "Vertical track" audio message. Made SYN VIS horizon headings more readable by adding darker outline. Redesigned steering force control logic to better handle centering forces. Bug Fixes: Steering had a confusing delay on it, which made for difficult directional control. Turning on NAV or STROBE lights should disable red wingtip beacons. Overspeed should come on at 269 KIAS and turn off at 268 KIAS. Reverse numbers should be 27-35 trq, 1850 rpm, Ng 85%. Gear manual extension rates were incorrect. WXR-related crash during resumption of previously interrupted flight. "FMS LFE" should be automatic upon FPL entry on the ground. Pushing Go-Around should put the HSI back into GPS mode. Replaced aural_warn_test and gear_warn recordings with cleaner samples. Implemented OVERSPEED aural message. Force the avionics_on dataref to 1. When we had the A/P override set, unset it if the CDI mode changes. SYN VIS north horizon heading should be 360 and sub-100 headings shouldn't have a leading '0'. SYN VIS airport loading could fail sporadically, resulting in missing runways. SYN VIS old method of computing airport label placement was broken. AIRAC cycle 1904 was mislabeled as 1304. Make sure GL_BLEND is enabled, because in X-Plane windowing context it sometimes isn't. Bezel drawing didn't work in popped-out windows due to X-Plane swapping in a different OpenGL context. X-Plane 11.32r2 seems to have broken our Vertex Array Object processing, so we have to work around that. As always, thanks for purchasing from X-Aviation! We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you more in the future! Blue Skies, X-Aviation.com SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK :
