  5. Story I've just picked up on FSElite: == Only released a couple of days ago, the team at HiFi SimTech are hard at work listening to feedback from the community regarding Active Sky XP (for X-Plane 11). Today, they released a small update which was causing issues for some users. Those fixes include a wind aloft issue and the occasional hanging of the application upon exit. Hotfix B6919B is now available via the HiFi download section. You will have to download the full version according to their downloads page, which weighs in at 233MB. 11. Courtesy of FSElite, news that I hope will be another good reason for @OMGEDSON to finally make the move to open XPlane 11! == Announced in a Forum post, Orbx has released Chichester/Goodwood Airport (EGHR) exclusively for X-Plane 11 to complement their TrueEarth Great Britain South add-on. Goodwood Airport is located in Chichester, West Sussex on the Goodwood Estate. This airfield was built and primarily used during World War II by the RAF as a relief landing ground. Today, the airport sees its fair share of GA traffic and its surrounding road is a well-known racing circuit. From the screenshots below, you can see that developers at Orbx have tried to capture both the history and natural beauty of the airfield and surrounding area with almost every single object seen at the real object photographed, modelled and placed. This airport features 15/60cm/px ground imagery, static objects, animated Ferraris racing, TrueEarth GB compatibility and more which you can see in the key features at the end. You can grab a hold of Chichester/Goodwood Airport (EGHR) from OrbxDirect at a price of AUD$28.01 (Incl. VAT) for X-Plane 11 until the end of the year at a 15% discount. In 2019, it will cost AUD$32.95 (Incl. VAT). Owners of the FSX/P3D version will automatically be granted a 40% discount. = ORBX product page: https://orbxdirect.com/product/eghr/xp11 Link with specficiations and more screenshots below. 12. Frank Dainese and Fabio Bellini Release Everest Park 3D We have been following the news of Frank Dainese and Fabio Bellini’s Everst Park 3D for a while now, and today was the promised release day. The duo have kept their promise and released Everest Park 3D for X-Plane 11 via the Org store. Lukla Airport (VNLK) is known as one of the toughest airports in the world to land and take off at. At a high altitude, surrounded by mountainous terrain and a sloping runway, it’s going to cause some challenges along the way. The airport has been created in immense detail with plenty of real world elements recreated for an immersive experience. Further to just Lukla Airport, there has been a tremendous amount of work done to 7 nearby helipads and Syangboche Airport. 13. VSKYLABS, X-plane 11.30 and the Experimental Flight Model mode... Hello VSKYLABS user! This is an imporant notification for the upcoming X-Plane 11.30 VSKYLABS, X-Plane 11.30 AND THE EXPERIMENTAL FLIGHT MODEL MODE: X-Plane 11.30 will introduce the Experimental Fight Dynamics mode, which will allow to fly planes with the evolving 'next generation' X-Plane's flight dynamics model. The Experimental Flight Model mode will be optional, and users will have to select using it by enabling it through the General Settings menu in X-Plane. The Experimental Flight Model is, as its name is indicating, an experimental flight dynamics environment which will allow Laminar Research to develop X-Plane's next-generation flight dynamics model in the real-time environment of X-Plane. It will be developed and evaluated throughout several versions of X-Plane 11, right until it will get into a 'stable' state. It is prone to changes, therefore is not considered as *stable*. Meanwhile, while having it as an option for users to test in X-Plane 11.30+, it is allowing aircraft developers to evaluate and test their models extensively, mapping the needed changes and have them ready for the time in which the experimental flight model will become *stable*. The experimental flight model mode is available also in the current X-Plane 11.30 beta version. VSKYLABS has started to test and evaluate its projects with the experimental flight model mode, as preparation for things to come. The experimental flight model mode is prone to changes and updates and it is not considered as *stable*. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED NOT TO USE THE EXPERIMENTAL FLIGHT MODEL MODE ON A REGULAR BASIS, BUT ONLY FOR EVALUATION PURPOSE. In the meantime, bug-reports for this environment will not be addressed on the practical level. However, VSKYLABS aircraft users can report issues found in the experimental mode, using the VSKYLABS Bug/Issues report system (to be found in the VSKYLABS main webpage at https://www.vskylabs.com ). Having the VSKYLABS Projects to be designed and developed as native (default) X-Plane 11 add-ons, will assure a relatively simple adaptation process to the new flight dynamics model, when time is right. Actual transition of the flight dynamics models of the VSKYLABS projects to X-Plane's next-generation flight model environment will occur down the road, when Laminar Research will define the Experimental Flight Model as *stable*. 14. Not long ago, HiFi Simulations gave the first concrete details regarding their upcoming Active Sky for X-Plane. Many fans were excited to see how the weather engine would impact the simulation. On a brand new page dedicated to the product, HiFi has shown off new screenshots and revealed some brand new details. As previously mentioned, it is planned to be released in December 2018. It is currently being put through release candidate testing right now with a release soon to follow. As far as pricing, the team revealed that the initial price is planned to be $39.99. This will be a special discounted price to say thanks to the fans who have stuck by the team over the years. HiFi confirmed that the price will eventually increase. As with other Active Sky products, the team intend to release updates throughout the lifecycle of the product. These updates are likely to be quality of life updates, but they will be provided free of charge. The details of what these updates provide have yet to be determined. However, just like FSX/P3D users have been used to, major version changes will see either a new product being released or a charge being applied to update. If their record of FSX/P3D products holds the same though, then these updates will be significant and offer good value for money. As for current users of FSX/P3D products, there will not be any cross-grade discount. This is down to the cost and 3 year development lead the product has had. Furthermore, it serves as a primary maintenance hanger for British Airways. Features of the product include detailed 30cm ground poly details, static aircraft and volumetric grass. It should be noted that Orbx states that users should purchase and install TrueEarth Great Britain South for X-Plane 11 to ensure that the airport works as intended. Otherwise, users may face issues including missing forests, non-aligned road and motorway traffic or other visual anomalies. 22. X-Plane: A note about the TBM side menu from X-Aviation Missing Side Menu! View this email in your browser Missing Side Menu Information! Please read... Hello Stephen, We have been receiving many complaints about the side menu not working after the latest TBM update. It seems this is related to a bug in the latest X-Plane 11.3 beta, and this is a friendly reminder to be aware we do not support X-Plane beta software. There are too many changes and bugs that occur during Laminar's beta process, and they warn of this as well. If you want a dependable experience, please only use the TBM in non-beta X-Plane software, or if you want to venture down the path of using a beta, please do not seek TBM support when using X-Plane's beta builds! It is important we develop and get bug reports when using the TBM in a stable X-Plane environment. The side menu does work in earlier betas and non-beta software. We will not be researching this further until after the beta period for X-Plane 11.3 is over, but we will be reporting bugs we see as developers to Laminar. As always, thanks for purchasing from X-Aviation! We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you more in the future, and we appreciate your understanding!
