  7. After a christmas season and newYears eve of illness i started the year with catching up my missed work (the fate of every freelancer). So i had to stop all my other projects. But now, after a finalization and many hours beta testing - i am proud to present KRABI Outback - Adventures at the dark side of xplane. The big scenery project, it was mentioned here before, is now running on almost every system. The map contains 3 Airports for STOL Planes and Bush Pilots - 11 Helipads with ICAO Registration (see the second videoclip to take a look at the Locations) many more Pads that are wild and not listed - hidden objects and many tributes to the XP Community. The Release has handcrafted and handdrawn textures, many custom made objects, a lot of storys that are not told yet. It has also animated Groundroutes - a handmade area connected soundscapes of tropical rainforest noises as well as a timecontrolled special event at the habour that is only happening from the 23.12 to the 27.12 every year. Its free of charge (i must be crazy) and is made with almost no knowledge (i am getting better) and a lot of love. My personal hidden object scenery - inspired by EBOY Posters and Childbooks as well as my favourite destination in asia - Thailand. You will find all Information on the downloadpage and the illustrated manual. get it here: KRABI OUTBACK 1.4 SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : www.unionvogelhirsch.de NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/49938-krabi-outback-adventures-thailand/
  8. JustFlight to port BAe-146 to X-Plane By: Peter Tram January 31, 2019 JustFlight is ready to embark into the world of Jetliners with their announcement of porting their rendition of the BAe-146 into X-Plane. In an exclusive news entry on Tom's Cockpit, the development team expressed intention to bring the product to X-Plane shortly after the completion and release of the ESP-based version for FSX and P3D. The BAe-146 is an influential piece to the history of British Aviation, bringing simplified design to minimise maintenance costs and silent operations to airlines. With almost 400 examples built it also is the UK's most successful airliner. Powered by four Avco Lycoming ALF 502, it is nicknamed the "Tuberlino" and the "Whisper Jet" for its ability to operate into noise-sensitive areas. There is already a rendition of the BAe-146 available on the JF store, but it was co-branded with the developer of the product: Commercial Level Simulations. As the plane is currently early in the development process for the ESP version, there is no set target release date. JustFlight will model all three fuselage lengths of the aircraft, -100, -200, and -300. All of which will be modelled using real-world aircraft plans and comprehensive photography of the real aircraft (G-JEAO). Accurately animated components unique to the aircraft including Trailing edge flap surfaces, Wing-mounted spoilers and tail-mounted airbrake, and the Distinctive retractable tricycle landing gear. With this project, PBR texturing will be introduced natively on the ESP platform and will be reappropriated for X-Plane use once X-Plane development comes. Here is the rest of the feature list (redundant/standard-issue features removed): COCKPIT Captain, co-pilot and jump-seat positions are modelled with hundreds of functional switches, knobs and controls A truly 3D cockpit environment right down to accurately modelled seat belts and screw heads – every instrument is constructed fully in 3D with smooth animations Extensive overhead panel with custom-coded hydraulic, electrical, fuel and pressurisation systems Functional Thrust Management System (TMS) Authentic gauges and navigational equipment, including FMS, HSI and RMIs Custom-coded autopilot with LNAV and IAS hold Cockpit textures feature wear and tear based on reference photos taken in the real aircraft to produce an authentic environment Interactive engine start checklist Interactive checklists for every stage of flight Panel state system which will automatically save the panel state whenever a flight is saved and reload the panel state whenever that flight is loaded Aircraft configuration system that will allow you to choose between ‘cold & dark’ or ‘ready for take-off’ Many features have been added to help with usabilities such as the ability to hide the control yokes for a better view of the instruments and pre-set angled views for the overhead panel, centre pedestal and jump seat Flight computer panel with useful information such as fuel burn, endurance, speed and wind speed/direction Ability to integrate third-party weather radar OTHER FEATURES Flight dynamics model based on real-world performance and handling data, and input from real-world pilots Authentic LF-507 engine sound set Multiple interior and exterior viewpoints, including wing views Comprehensive manual with panel guide and performance data PSD PaintKit included for you to create your own repaints Thanks to testflight357 on Discord for the tip-off. 11. Week Highlights: ShortFinal Design tease New Project, xAmbience Released, ASXP Update Coming By: Sam Clark January 20, 2019 The 3rd week of 2019 got off to a good start with news of HighSkyTech releasing the long-awaited weather plugin xAmbience. HST’s 2nd payware addon was slated to release on November 28, however, due to issues in pre-release testing, it was delayed until the end of December and then to early January. ‍ With beta testing of the E1000 by Aerobask in progress, three new previews of their E1000 with the Garmin G1000 were shared this week. The flight model has been tested by a real-world E1000 pilot, and they promise to bring a high-quality aircraft to their users. ‍ Experimental aircraft specialists VSkyLabs have provided further information on their upcoming Revolution Mini-500 helicopter for Laminar's sim. Perhaps the most unique aspect about VSL's latest project is that the single-seater helicopter was only available as a kit-set, with the owner required to assemble the chopper before it's first use. ‍ ‍ Orbx's final TrueEarth Great Britain region, that being the North, has moved into beta stages. This information was shared via post by John Venema on the Orbx preview forum. Check out the full article for more details. ‍ Windsock Simulations previewed another of their conversion projects this week. In partnership with David Rosenfield FSX, they plan to convert his popular Milan Malpensa scenery to Laminar’s sim. See more here. ‍ The dynamic duo of Frank Dainese and Fabio Bellini are working hard on their next X-Plane scenery, based around the peaks of Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy. The completely new X-Plane version traces inspiration from Frank's freeware version for FSX and Prepar3D, which is now 4 years old. New previews surfaced this week via Frank’s blog, which you can see here. ‍ ‍ HiFi Simulation Technologies this week released further information about the first major update to their X-Plane weather engine. Active Sky XP was released back in December and has since received a few small patches to fix immediate bugs with the software, however, is yet to receive any major updates. The plan for the update is to reduce the number of cloud re-draws, one of the largest criticisms of the product. ‍ Developers of the Aerostar 601P for X-Plane, Avia71, have released a major update to the aircraft. The update includes full X-Plane 11.30 and VR compatibility, as well as new icing and de-icing systems. To see the full changelog, see our previous article on them. ‍ Imaginesim, a popular ESP-platform developer, announced and previewed their first X-Plane scenery last week with news of their Austin Bergstrom Airport scenery coming soon to Laminar’s sim. Their first X-Plane project is a conversion of their existing rendition for Prepar3D and FSX. ‍ ‍ X-Plane old timers FlyJSim have shown off more progress on their recently announced Q4XP. The Q4XP is the successor the Q400 V2, however is being built from the ground up, with new modelling being one of the major benefactors of this. In a post on theFlyJSim Pilots Facebook group,FlyJSim PR Manager Dellanie Byron released a video of the Q4XP's wingflex in action. See more in our full article here. ‍ Moving into the weekend, Orbx debuted their latest scenery conversion based aroundFairoaks Airport (EGTF). The airport is nearby the hub of Formula 1 team McLaren, who’s base is included in the scenery. See the new previews here. ‍ Developer Andrzej Borysewicz has uploaded a pair of preview videos of Super-Critical Simulations' next aircraft, the CRJ-700 for X-Plane. The project was initially announced in 2015 and is now closing in on release. See the new preview videos here. ‍ ‍ ShortFinal Design developer MisterX6 released new previews of their upcoming Munich (EDDM) scenery today, along with a sneak preview of their next project. Early speculation appears to point towards SFD’s new project not being based around an airport, but rather a region, perhaps like the recently released JapanPro. ‍ - ‍ That’s all for this week! As always, you can give us some feedback on ourFacebook page, or via the contact form here. Happy flying - and have a wonderful day SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://www.thresholdx.net/news/210119?fbclid=IwAR1FzDzl37HrWaUYIzlf7TT8r8X5iYQmmfhhq0EQBqQlWjMrqVbUro8fRf8
  12. VSkyLabs Releases Revolution Mini-500 Helicopter By: Sam Clark January 20, 2019 VSkyLabs, experimental aircraft experts, have released their latest project for X-Plane 11.30. The Revolution Mini-500 is an American single-seater chopper and is unique in that the owner must construct the aircraft from a kit-set before flying it. This is VSkyLabs' second successive helicopter release following the Guimbal Cabri G2 in September. The new Mini-500 utilizes X-Plane 11.30's experimental flight model and features highly realistic flight dynamics as a result. ‍ ‍ VSkyLabs have provided a feature list for the helicopter, which you can see here: VSKYLABS 'Test-Pilot' Project. Highly defined flight dynamics model of the Revolution Mini-500. Built around the powerful, native X-Plane 11.30+ 'Experimental Flight Model' environment (must be selected in the General settings window in X-Plane 11). Fully functional VR (Virtual Reality) compatibility. Multi-Layer FMOD sound pack. Unique aspects of the Mini-500 helicopter are simulated and are part of the flying experience by definition: Manual engine/rotor RPM management, low rotor-inertia aspects, in-flight nose tuck during engine-stop, rotor RPM management, retreating blade stall condition (Vne), typical Mast bumping, typical autorotation capability and more. The VSKYLABS Test-Pilot: Mini-500 is designed as if it was a real kit-built helicopter, awaiting for it's first test-flight. Was it built exactly as instructed? Will it fly as expected? wow there is only one way to find out! You will have to get to know it step by step...or you might get yourself into serious trouble when mistreating it. Mastering the VSKYLABS Mini-500 will sure make you a better helicopter pilot! The original pilot's manual was one of the core-materials during development of this project, and the VSKYLABS Mini-500 pilot's manual is built based on it. The project is under constant development. Highly responsive VSKYLABS support forums. ‍ You can purchase the VSkyLabs Test Pilot: Mini-500 for $26.50 on the X-Plane.org store. 14. Live Flight Data Channels LiveTraffic can read from the following sources, called channels: ADS-B Exchange, (see usage Terms & Conditions) both online live data and historical files (see section 'Historical Data' here, especially the requirements!) OpenSky Network, (see usage Terms & Conditions) using its REST API LiveTraffic can even read several channels at the same time. Warnings apply, see Basic Settings. Display of Aircraft Well, yea...that's what it's all about: Aircraft 3D model as per installed CSL libraries. LiveTraffic uses the very same library (xplanemp) as XSquawkBox and X-IvAp do. Expect pretty similar behaviour. Aircraft labels (the yellow text), content configurable Basic flight modelling: LiveTraffic tries to mimic those aircraft movements, which are not transported by the flight data: Rotate, Pitch, Flare Turns (Roll yet to come, currently wings stay level) Acceleration, Deceleration Gear and Flap movement Lights (Beacon, Navigation, Landing) Landing Simulation in case no more flight data available during approach, so that the aircrafts continues its descend down to the ground, rolls out, stops, and only then vanishes. LiveTraffic is not into taxiing simulation, though... Aircraft and Flight Information Display LiveTraffic can show aircraft information and updated dynamic flight data (like position, speed, altitude and so on) about the aircrafts as shown in X-Plane (which supposingly is very close to reality minus buffering period, but LiveTraffic certainly needs to interpolate between available data points). A/C Info Window Shows aircraft info for one or more aircrafts right within X-Plane. Aircrafts selectable by transponder code, registration, call sign, flight number, and index within LiveTraffic, or Auto-selecting the closest aircraft in viewing direction. Multiple a/c info windows can be opened in parallel. Aircraft Information Window /using-lt/aircraft-information-window Data Refs LiveTraffic makes good use of X-Plane's data ref feature. Historically, this was just meant to ease my development life as I could use the DataRefEditor plugin to change the configuration and read aircrafts' status. Thus, it became the backbone of the configuration object in LiveTraffic and remains available to the outside world. DataRefs /reference/datarefs TCAS TCAS might or might not work. The "TCAS hack" of xplanemp requires AI aircrafts to be set up, see installation. Here's a list of collected feedback...mostly positive actually 🙂. 19. X-Plane: Free TBM 900 v1.1.4 Update From X-Aviation TBM 900 v1.1.4 Free Update! View this email in your browser HotStart TBM 900 v1.1.4 Update! Ready for download now... Hello RedNeck, X-Aviation and HotStart are proud to announce the release of the TBM 900 v1.1.4 update. Here's what's changed in version 1.1.4: Added HUD circuit breaker. Deepened manipulators and fixed cabin pressure manipulator. Fuel indicator lines were misrendered and showing too low to the actual tank state. Fuel gauge lines should use a gradianted pattern, instead of a flat color. Added GPU exhaust particle effect. Added remap from X-Plane's TOGA_power to trigger our takeoff guidance and kill X-Plane's tendency to give full power as if we had A/THR. Added propeller tip vortices at high power and high humidity. Added FUEL SEL AUTO checklist item into the engine start checklist. Removed superflous AUX BP AUTO checklist item from the after start checklist. Implemented new airspeed and altitude tapes with better annunciator mode management. Implemented custom VS tape. Changed G1000 fuel units to gallons - should now show correct units in FPL fuel predictions. Fixed broken AP/TRIMS disconnect and AP off buttons in XP11.30. Switched to using tags for version IDs for more readable version strings. Use XPLMNavRef to avoid airports with inconsistent ICAOs in the X-Plane nav database confusing us. Implemented maximum climb torque and optimum cruise torque marks on the torque gauge. Squashed more marching ants. Added directly settable datarefs for all switches, so integration with external controllers and cockpits is simpler. Added direct set commands for all toggle controls to simplify integration for cockpit builders. Fixed broken alternate static port manipulator. Implemented DIMMER light switch on the overhead. Fixed missing approach pathways on ILS approaches. Adjusted rear seats so armrests are touching. Adjusted manipulators to reflect armrest changes. Fixed Nav/Strobe lights to be closer to the real thing. Chocks were sometimes misaligned. Added a vertical deflection dataref to align chocks to landing gear. EDM should be using the GASC-computed cabin altitude, not true cabin altitude. Bad fx_lin_multi field array could cause an assertion failure. Obstacle database was broken because FAA had switched to HTTPs and we weren't expecting that. XP11.30 reordered how the airport loading message is sent at start, leading to a double aircraft system init/deinit on aircraft reload via the Developer menu. Indicated airspeed computation was affected by pitot covers, yielding broken behavior for engine driftdown in windy conditions. Documented all custom switch datarefs + commands for cockpit builders. Can be found under Documentation/DataRefs+Commands.txt. Cockpit manipulator on MFD keypad for digit 0 has incorrect command assigned Fixed TerraMax license conflict causing TerraMax to sometimes deactivate momentarily. Fixed misaligned LOC with runway centerline. Added manual vertical realignment of GS transmitters with actual sim terrain elevation. As always, thanks for purchasing from X-Aviation! We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you more in the future! Blue Skies, X-Aviation.com SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK :

  21. X-Plane 11.30 Is Final It’s out the door! (Steam should go “final” tomorrow morning, but you can get the final now – it’s still marked as a “beta”.) Here’s everything that happened. I expect we’ll do an 11.31 bug fix patch in the next week or two – 11.30 release candidate three was just critical fixes, e.g. fixing crashes on startup for Nvidia users with Windows 10 and the moon and stars aligned just right. Some less super-critical bugs are fixed and waiting for the bug fix patch. SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : https://developer.x-plane.com/blog/ NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK :

  24. Orbx Elstree Aerodrome (EGTR) Announced for X-Plane 11 Continuing the development string of airports to compliment and further enhance their TrueEarth GB South add-on for X-Plane 11, Orbx has revealed that the next airport to come is Elstree Aerodrome (EGTR) which has been announced on their forum. Elstree Aerodrome is situated 2.6 nautical miles east of Watford, Hertfordshire in England. It was first used in World War II as a small landing strip used for the overhaul and repair of military aircraft. After 1946, the aerodrome was returned to civil aircraft operations and has been used by aero clubs and private pilots for the basing and operation of single and twin-engined light aircraft. From the previews, you notice that a lot of detail has been paid to minor objects in and out of the airport perimeter leaving you fully immersed. Elstree Aerodrome features an incredible 1-3cm/px ground poly, a 30cm/px surrounding countryside ortho base, textures, and objects based from on-site photography and more which you can view in the key features at the end of this article.
