  4. MilViz Preview T310R Rain Effects In X-Plane 11 Announced back in June at FSExpo, word of the MilViz T310 for X-Plane has been sparse, until now. Over on their Facebook page, MilViz has posted a preview featuring windshield rain effects in their upcoming aircraft for X-Plane 11. We suspect a release is on the horizon as MilViz have now further introduced us to the T310R by publishing its store page with a release of the paint kit, an extensive feature list (subject to change) and many new previews. The T310R features RealityXP GTN 650/750 compatibility, FMOD sounds, PBR materials, realistic flight dynamics, windshield rain/ice effects and more which you can view on the store page. https://fselite.net/news/milviz-preview-t310r-rain-effects-in-x-plane-11/
  5. A2A Looking to Bring Accu-Sim to X-Plane Although posted a week ago, this was missed by us and was brought to our attention by kind reader. Prepar3D / FSX users have had many years of flying GA and other aircraft using the A2A Accu-Sim engine. The custom built engine works with the SimConnect API to deliver results far beyond what the default sim can offer. A question often asked to the team is “when will you bring Accu-Sim to X-Plane?” Well, Scott from the A2A team answered the question by saying “we do want to get Accu-Sim to any platform that accepts it.” Promising! Scott went onto say that during FlightSimExpo, he spoke to Austin from Laminar Research about bringing in the Accu-Sim engine into X-Plane, to which Austin said “it is possible.” Scott continued by stating that a lot of the work has to go into how X-Plane and the engine will accept the code. Right now, it was designed and works well with the P3D/FSX environment, but Accu-Sim is being developed to be more modular and independent. You can read Scott’s full statement via the A2A forums. We’ll continue to monitor how this goes, and maybe we’ll see some more positive news in the future. Speaking of A2A, we’ll have a video review of their Accu-sim Bonanza V-Tail pretty soon. 7. Tired of the same old image every time you open XP11 (the 737 cockpit on final approach at night time)? I’ve just stumbled across this utility in the xplane org site. This gives me two ideas: 1) Change the default loading splash image manually to the image of your choice. (Remember to backup the original just in case you ever want to revert back to it!). Or 2) install X-Splasher which will change the image each time you start XP11. I’m going to create mine later today, please feel free to post your creations too! 8. The Simmers of the first hour will know the name Heinz Dziurowitz well. He was a pioneer in aircraft manufacturing and one of the key figures in the early days of X-Plane. His models were state of the art at that time and the first payware models in the XP universe. Unfortunately he past away some years ago and his models have not been further updated. The rights to his work today has X-Plane-org (how waterproof and legal that thing is... I do not know and as long noone earns money with his work nobody will ask) and so helpful members of the Cummunity sometimes polished up old heinz models to turn them into freeware for the community. With the permission of ORG, org course. A helpful member named DomHenry has already done this with various models. His latest work, however, fits so well with the style of the SkyLounge that I want to present it here. We are talking about the Lockheed Lightning P-38 - one of my favorite FSX planes - now for free and in excellent quality for X-Plane11 at ORG. 11. X-Plane is full of interesting projects and great ideas from the community. I think it is time to pay some respect to freeware projects that i know, are remarkable. One of these projects is truly outstanding and has been around for a long time. We are talking about Antarctica4XPlane. Anyone who has ever tried to fly to Antarctica in X-Plane will have noticed that there is nothing down there. That's right: Austin Meyer has done what the climatologists had long predicted - he recently let the South Pole melt. But a group of expedition enthusiasts and adventurers have done their best to bring the continent back from the depths of the ocean and started to build all the important research stations on it and finding the right airplanes to repaint them for science missions . The Project is leaded and initiated by Matthias Seewald alias Maps2XPlane, a specialist in geodata and Master of the XP Mesh. (You might know him from Krabi4XPlane where he helped to generate a better mesh) Since the beginning he connected many volunteers to work on this project. Those who have not experienced it yet, I recommend to try a trip into the eternal ice. To destinations most of us will never be able to get to in real life some modified pictures for storytelling purposes SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : https://maps2xplane.com/the-sceneries/antarctic-sceneries/ NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://imgur.com/gallery/lLW99

  15. Sim Innovations Show Video Preview Of 737 MAX Avionics Sim Innovations has continued to make mouths water following their recent announcement of a 737 MAX avionics suite for X-Plane, this time showing a working video preview of the Captain’s PFD in a Facebook video. The video shows the take-off stage of flight, with a few abnormal events thrown in to show what the system is currently capable of – for example, excessive bank angle and sink rate warnings. All of this was accompanied by the familiar sounds of Audiobird’s soundpack for the Zibo 737. Naturally, it’s less exciting to describe this video to you in text form, so head over to the link above to see the full clip. The team made the announcement around a week ago, using only a single still image of the PFD on their Facebook page. Captioning the image, Sim Innovations said that their intention is to create the full MAX avionics suite to work alongside the Zibo 737 as a standalone application – presumably intended for cockpit builders. In the comments some days later, they also made mention of an overhead panel being included in the release – when the time comes, of course. The MAX does seem to be the flavour of the month in the X-Plane world at the moment, though, with the 737 Ultimate team announcing their MAX project just a few days ago, and RG – the modder responsible for the modification package for the Zibo 737 (which is a modification in itself) – has also been posting previews of a 737 MAX8 modification on his VK page in recent days. It appears that anyone with a taste for a modern narrowbody is going to be spoilt for choice pretty soon. https://vk.com/wall-154038623_2187 https://fselite.net/news/sim-innovations-show-video-preview-of-737-max-avionics/

  17. Laminar Research Shares More 11.30 Update Features Recently posted in the developer blog for X-Plane, Ben Supnik shared two small details about what we can expect in the future from X-Plane 11’s upcoming 11.30 update 4K Panels: In the new update, developers can utilise the higher 4k resolution of panels for their aircraft, to allow for more details and better graphics from their custom, plugin-based textures. It is important to note though, that smooth performance cannot be promised from loading such a high resolution into the aircraft’s systems. Cockpit Objects: 11.30 will allow developers to utilise a single .obj (object) file for loading the cockpits of their aircraft, so no duplicated are required for products that are released with varying fuselages or engine types for the same cockpit. Plane-Maker will also automatically reconfigure old aircraft to follow the new setup of having the cockpit object listed as a ‘misc’ object within the menus, so developers need not worry about manually updating this. That’s all for now; more news to come regarding 11.30 as we get it. 20. FlyJSim Updates 727 Series Professional V3 SOURCE INFO Despite releasing an excellent aircraft last month, developers FlyJSim has updated their 727 Series Professional 3 with a range of fixes and general improvements for the user. The primary focus area of this update are on mach hold and tape movements, the leading edge flaps not deploying when using the alternate flap and visuals on the aft cargo door. Further to general fixes, the team have added a brand new maintenance system for the tires. If you’re a pilot that likes to land firm, you may need to rethink your style as if you land too hard or heavy, prepare to pop a tire or collapse your gear (and have a meeting with tea no biscuits with your manager). There’s a nice range of improvements in the free update from the team, so waste time no more and download the update to the plane we enjoyed very much. You will need to grab the Skunkcrafts updater to download and apply update 3.1809.1125 to your 727 Series Professional V3. Here’s the full change log courtesy of their Facebook post. https://fselite.net/news/flyjsim-updates-727-series-professional-v3/
  21. After the two GTA cartoonish places Bamboo Island and Ko Poda Island in front of Krabis coastline, I took a few weeks vacation on the mainland to find out how to deal with a huge map without autogen. How to give the rocks the right look and how to make the rainforest look like rainforest. In the course of this I have built a wild illegal airstrip that is so terrible that you can only land with STOL Planes and helicopters. Around the runway I tried to capture the typical Thai chaos and . I am determined to provide an executable version of this free of charge this year. 22. Skyline Simulations Announce Dash 8 200 & 300 Skyline Simulations has today announced, via their Facebook page, that they’re currently working on a couple of the often forgotten models of the Dash 8 family for X-Plane. The developer, primarily known for their scenery products, used the announcement to show off some early renders of the Dash 8 200 and 300 models that are currently being worked on, while also outlining their intentions for the project. In the post, Skyline Sim stated that they intend to produce a “study level” simulation of the aircraft with “accurate flight dynamics and systems simulation”. This includes the UNS-1 Universal FMS System that the real-world aircraft is equipped with. This should hopefully come as welcome news to X-Plane users and fans of the Dash 8, who have been crying out for an overhaul of FlyJSim’s Q400 for quite some time. Additionally, the developers promise an accurate and true 3D model which they say “will be extremely faithful to the real aircraft and will be impeccably detailed at a standard the XPlane [sic] community has come to expect from developers”. While this may sound like it’s going to take up a large amount of the developers’ time, they do assure their fans that their current scenery projects are not being delayed as a result, and work continues on projects such as KORD and an upcoming CVG update. The only question that comes to mind with this announcement is if Skyline Sim are producing the Q200/Q300 models, or their earlier, non-ANVS brothers. Without doubt, the X-Plane community will be watching this project very closely, as will FSElite. We hope to see work continue on this project and will aim to bring you updates as they’re made available. For now, check out the renders below.
