  1. FlightSimLabs A320-X Update Previews Back in October, we revealed a range of details regarding the update for the FlightSimLabs A320-X. Although we were originally told it would be out towards the end of 2018, work has been continuing on implementing a range of brand new features. The update, so far, will be quite extensive. On the FlightSimLabs’ forums, Andy Wilson gave a brief glimpse into what the new update looks like so far. Along with the details, three new screenshots were shared. The first screenshot showcases the upcoming ATSU (Air Traffic Service Unit). With the upcoming update, you will be able to request pre-departure clearance (PDC) via a separate request page. In the example below, flight EZY13AQ was cleared by Munich with the departure clearance text you see in the MCDU. Andy says that “our simulation will now allow customers to follow real world PDC/DCL procedures”. It was confirmed that this works for both VATSIM and IVAO. 4. I’ve just found the following series on YouTube, I don’t think they’ve been included on the TSL forum before (apologies if they have). Please see below links to a series of very informative and clear videos from a REAL pilot on the Flight Factor A320 for X-Plane 11. These are a must for anyone that wants to get as close to the real deal. Including more advanced features and systems (plus 3 types of approach ILS, RNAV and VOR). To get the most out of these videos ensure you read the notes for each video which provide clarifications and corrections. I am a fan of the Aerosoft A319-A321 for FSX, but on seeing this I realise the FF A320 is a step up in terms of accuracy of systems in the real bird! === #1 Cold and dark start through to cruise: #2 descent to landing (ILS): #3 vectors go-around and autoland: #4 RNAV approach: #5 VOR approach: SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK :
  5. FSLabs Releases Update to the A320-X for P3DV4.2 We informed the community a little while ago that FSLabs were working on a new update for their A320-X. Today the update has been released. The update focuses on fixing a few bugs and improving various logic components. As we said before, this update looks to address the strange issues some users found where they would experience strange aileron movements at some airports. Additional improvements include the ability to now feed sound through multiple devices and an improvement in performance. You can get the new update via this link – just be sure to have your serial info to hand. 6. Navigraph AIRAC Data Now Available For FlightFactor A320 The FlightFactor A320 is arguably the best add-on aircraft that X-Plane has seen in a long time, and after finally emerging from a 3-tier buy-in beta stage at the beginning of 2018, the only thing missing was Navigraph’s AIRAC data support. Understandably, Navigraph has been copping a fair bit of frustration from their mutual FlightFactor customers who enjoy using the current data and charts on their simming adventures. Countless Facebook and posts on various forums asking when support for the aircraft would be ready had resulted in numerous responses amounting to a “soon”, and in some cases some sarcastic responses such as “the end of 2018”. 7. Flight Sim Labs A320-X Update Due This Week FSLabs are back at the development table continuing to improve their A320-X. Whilst the most recent update provided a huge list of changes and fixes, there was still work for the team to do to make the A320-X even better. More excitingly, the update appears to be right around the corner. 8. A user on Reddit (Link 1) just posted something worrying about the FSL A320 installer which apparently contains a password dumping tool related to the users Chrome activities. How true or false this claim is something to be confirmed by FSL themselves which I am sure will be revealed in a public announcement soon. The above was then confirmed on Belynz (Matt Davies) Twitch stream & Discord where users confirmed the existence of such a file which could be used to the users disadvantage. Matt then contacted Lefteris Kalamaras (FSL) via Skype and was promptly responded to in private (phone call) explaining the situation. However, Matt denied to comment on the matter and only hinted at a possible misunderstanding of the real use of such a file. FSL will soon provide a public announcement regarding the matter and with all things considered, this could just be an anti-piracy tool from FSL to detract piracy of their product upon detection of any modification to their installer. Someone had started a thread a few days back (Link 2) requesting help for exactly this issue but it was resolved with a simple answer saying, "You should disable your anti-virus completely when installing if it’s causing issues." There is now a thread on FSL forums regarding this matter but no official response at the time of writing this post. (Link 3) In my honest opinion, while FSL may find a technicality to justify the existence of this malicious software in their installer, it still seems like a severe breach of trust, especially after seeing the response by the beta tester to a user who found this file a few days back, and no amount of justification should allow such practices to be continued. While this will definitely split the community into two, those that are okay with its nefarious purpose in the name of DRM and those that find it extremely unethical, I wholeheartedly am against such protocols being injected into products without prior consent or the user being made aware at the point of purchase. What do you think? Should such protocols be allowed at all? Is this is a viable method to stop piracy? It may be even considered illegal in some countries. UPDATE: FSL has now released a public announcement (Developer Post Link 1) regarding the matter and it is indeed correct that this file is being dumped to the user system (whether a genuine customer or not) without explicit consent of the user. Confirmed by a developer of ProjectFLY: "The malware is placed on your SYSTEM at the point of execution of the installer. Whether it does anything or not is irrelevant. Malware is being placed on the computer without explicit consent of the end user." As a customer of the FSL A320, I am disappointed in their methodology and lack of transparency regarding the matter.@OMGEDSON , I'd like to request you and others in your weekly 'On Approach' show to discuss this matter at length and provide some feedback on what your thoughts are regarding such practices (guilty until proven innocent). I'd still like to see FSL make an honest and genuine apology. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Developer of ProjectFly has posted a comprehensive statement regarding his findings and why consumers should not accept this in any shape or form. 9. Excerpt from website: Hello all, I am very happy to announce that our latest A320-X update release for Prepar3D v4 is now live. Please get it from here. You will also need the latest Spotlights v2.0.0.7 from here. We are all quite aware that this is a very anticipated release and the excitement is real around the Labs as well! There is good reason for this: This A320-X update carries several logic, performance and stability improvements, but it also allows us to showcase some entirely new and, if we may say so, very powerful dynamic effects capabilities in Prepar3D v4 that we've developed in the past months that are "truly never seen before" (tm). I'd like this excitement to become contagious, so I will not say much more. For all the improvements, fixes and updates, head over to the dev link below (You may need to be signed in to view it). 11. Whilst we are all extremely excited to be able to fly our beloved A320 in P3DV4.2, and take advantage of the new feature of the upcoming FSLabs A320-X, we are going to have to wait a little longer. Over on the FSLabs forums, Lefteris provided a brief update on the current status of the update. The team has been busy chasing down what they call a ‘transient bug’ in their electrics network wiring logic. Due to the nature of this bug, it’s hard to track down and fix quickly. With that said, FSLabs believe they have found the issue and are issuing a new beta version to the testers to make sure it has been squashed. Whilst the community are really excited to get their hands on the update, FSLabs want to make sure that the problem has been fixed before unleashing it for everyone else to use. No time frame was given, but the team, just like us, want it available as soon as possible. 20. Welcome aboard Easyjet flight 5393, from Gatwick to Innsbruck, a short haul flight to take the British people to the mountains of Austria. Our aircraft today is G-EZTB, an Airbus A320-214 that first flew in March 2009. This bird's still in the old Easyjet livery, and has no Sharklets. Flight 5393 is a morning flight, departing from Gate 101, a medium stand with a jetway. Sadly the weather wasn't in our favour that morning, so the concrete was slick and the wipers came straight on, and the spray on takeoff was a sight to behold. Here we are just after the gear-up call. We were cleared by London Ctr to climb to FL370, and we did so with an average FPM of ~2000. When we reached the DVR (Dover) VOR, we made our first turn at our planned altitude. Here we are just passing over Lille in France. We started our steep descent into LOWI around 80 miles from the airport. We instantly hit mountains through the low cloud base around the Inn Valley. We then began to gradually slow down and drop flaps. This was around when the terrain radar started to go mental, I sure understand why. From here we lowered the gear and turned on the lights. By now the runway was in sight, and we were ready to put her down on the tarmac. We easily stopped in the length of the runway with autobrake 2 and small amounts of reverse thrust. From there we taxiied to our stand, and shut the aircraft down. Welcome to Innsbruck. Rob
