The Maltese airport servers a range of airlines across the world and offers maintenance for multiple large airlines. Airlines such as easyJet, Ryanair, Emirates and of course Air Malta all serve the Maltese airport, with a big focus on connecting flights in Europe. 4. Frank Dainese and Fabio Bellini Announce New Project for X-Plane 11 Hot off the release of their Everest Park 3D earlier this month, Frank Dainese and Fabio Bellini announced that they have already started work on their next project. After enjoying their time in mountainous regions, the team are returning to that type of terrain. Announced today via HeliSimmer, the development of Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy for X-Plane 11. In total, the region will be around 500 SQ KM in size, and feature both mountains previously mentioned at their accurate altitude. Both Cerro Torre (3,128 meters / 10,262 feet) and the Fitz Roy (3405 meters / 11,171 feet) have been custom designed for the simulator for maximum realism. Furthermore, the town of El Chalten will be recreated, along with a fictional town featuring several helipads (no wonder HeliSimmer broke the news so quickly). There is no release date other than it won’t be until 2019. However, the in-development previews already show great progress of how things are currently coming along. 11. Skyline Simulations Announce Dash 8 200 & 300 Skyline Simulations has today announced, via their Facebook page, that they’re currently working on a couple of the often forgotten models of the Dash 8 family for X-Plane. The developer, primarily known for their scenery products, used the announcement to show off some early renders of the Dash 8 200 and 300 models that are currently being worked on, while also outlining their intentions for the project. In the post, Skyline Sim stated that they intend to produce a “study level” simulation of the aircraft with “accurate flight dynamics and systems simulation”. This includes the UNS-1 Universal FMS System that the real-world aircraft is equipped with. This should hopefully come as welcome news to X-Plane users and fans of the Dash 8, who have been crying out for an overhaul of FlyJSim’s Q400 for quite some time. Additionally, the developers promise an accurate and true 3D model which they say “will be extremely faithful to the real aircraft and will be impeccably detailed at a standard the XPlane [sic] community has come to expect from developers”. While this may sound like it’s going to take up a large amount of the developers’ time, they do assure their fans that their current scenery projects are not being delayed as a result, and work continues on projects such as KORD and an upcoming CVG update. The only question that comes to mind with this announcement is if Skyline Sim are producing the Q200/Q300 models, or their earlier, non-ANVS brothers. Without doubt, the X-Plane community will be watching this project very closely, as will FSElite. We hope to see work continue on this project and will aim to bring you updates as they’re made available. For now, check out the renders below. 18. FSLabs Announce New A319-X Feature FSLabs on their forums has just shown off some shots of their newest feature that will be included with their upcoming A319-X. In what can be described as a ‘buggy’ feature, this new addition to the aircraft is yet another feature that only advances the in-depth reality that has come to be expected with FSLabs. A common occurrence in the real world of flying is that bugs are often found splattered across the windscreen after departing or arriving and FSLabs have decided that they should model this to add that extra level of realism. 19. Avia71 Announce Aerostar 601P SOURCE INFO Avia71, a relatively small GA aircraft developer for the X-Plane platform, has announced their next aircraft as a Piper (formerly Ted Smith) Aerostar 601P via YouTube video, which is already in closed beta stages. The Aerostar is most recently well-known for being the star (alongside Tom Cruise) in the Hollywood movie American Made. Sadly, the aircraft used in this film – N164HH – was the subject of a fatal accident during filming. As a result of this, not only was the aircraft written-off, but two people sadly lost their lives. Powered by two turbocharged piston-prop engines, the Aerostar 601 holds the closed land speed record for a piston aircraft. The 601P is a pressurised variant of the 601 with an increased gross weight, of which 492 were built. Later down the line, the 601 model became the Piper PA-61 (and PA-61P for the pressurised model) when the Ted Smith Aircraft Company was consumed by the Piper Aircraft Corporation. https://fselite.net/previews/avia71-announce-aerostar-601p/

  23. JetStream Designs has announced that they will be developing Paris Orly; Paris’ second largest airport and a popular destination for low-cost carriers such as Transavia France and Corsair as well as carriers such as Air France and British Airways. This comes as a very welcome and exciting development knowing the excellent quality which comes from JetStream Designs in all their sceneries. From the shots already showed off, the scenery looks to be taking shape and is looking very impressive. Paris Orly was last developed in 2010 by Aerosoft. After eight years their scenery is no longer compatible with the latest installments of P3D and is showing its age which makes this news even better. Even better is that this scenery is set to be released in 2018 meaning that we will soon all be able to fly into the large French hub once again. Thanks to Thomas for sending us some high res shots of the scenery for you guys to enjoy. To get a sense of their quality why not check out our reviews on their Nantes scenery? 24. FLY X Simulations announce Lanzarote for X-Plane Source: X-Plane.org Forum, FLY X FLY X Simulations have announced their first payware airport, Lanzarote (GCRR), is now in development for X-Plane. Since November of 2016, FLY X has uploaded 2 freeware airports (Rovaniemi and Fuerteventura) and one livery (Thomson G-OOBA for the FlightFactor 757) to the X-Plane forums. The two airports are of a reasonably high quality and were uploaded around 12 months apart, with a distinct improvement in quality on the second scenery (EFRO) over the earlier GCFV. This leads us to believe that we should see some high-quality custom modelling in the newly announced product.
