  2. The desktop Electronic Flight Bag by Aivlasoft is coming to X-Plane very soon. Development on the upcoming X-Plane version of the EFB appeared to have begun after the release of version 2 for FSX and Prepar3D in July of last year. The EFB is Aivlasoft's flagship product and combines with either Navigraph Charts or Aerosoft NavDataPro to give users the full flight navigation experience. Also featured are detailed interactive ground charts and live weather displays (when fed data by Active Sky, FSGRW etc). In a post on the Aivlasoft forums titled "Beta tests for X-Plane 11.30", the developers say; No further information is available as of right now, however, the transition from internal testing to the beta phase likely indicates a release not to far in the future. See more about the Aivlasoft EFB on the official website here. SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://www.thresholdx.net/news/aivlas

  4. Week Highlights: ShortFinal Design tease New Project, xAmbience Released, ASXP Update Coming By: Sam Clark January 20, 2019 The 3rd week of 2019 got off to a good start with news of HighSkyTech releasing the long-awaited weather plugin xAmbience. HST’s 2nd payware addon was slated to release on November 28, however, due to issues in pre-release testing, it was delayed until the end of December and then to early January. ‍ With beta testing of the E1000 by Aerobask in progress, three new previews of their E1000 with the Garmin G1000 were shared this week. The flight model has been tested by a real-world E1000 pilot, and they promise to bring a high-quality aircraft to their users. ‍ Experimental aircraft specialists VSkyLabs have provided further information on their upcoming Revolution Mini-500 helicopter for Laminar's sim. Perhaps the most unique aspect about VSL's latest project is that the single-seater helicopter was only available as a kit-set, with the owner required to assemble the chopper before it's first use. ‍ ‍ Orbx's final TrueEarth Great Britain region, that being the North, has moved into beta stages. This information was shared via post by John Venema on the Orbx preview forum. Check out the full article for more details. ‍ Windsock Simulations previewed another of their conversion projects this week. In partnership with David Rosenfield FSX, they plan to convert his popular Milan Malpensa scenery to Laminar’s sim. See more here. ‍ The dynamic duo of Frank Dainese and Fabio Bellini are working hard on their next X-Plane scenery, based around the peaks of Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy. The completely new X-Plane version traces inspiration from Frank's freeware version for FSX and Prepar3D, which is now 4 years old. New previews surfaced this week via Frank’s blog, which you can see here. ‍ ‍ HiFi Simulation Technologies this week released further information about the first major update to their X-Plane weather engine. Active Sky XP was released back in December and has since received a few small patches to fix immediate bugs with the software, however, is yet to receive any major updates. The plan for the update is to reduce the number of cloud re-draws, one of the largest criticisms of the product. ‍ Developers of the Aerostar 601P for X-Plane, Avia71, have released a major update to the aircraft. The update includes full X-Plane 11.30 and VR compatibility, as well as new icing and de-icing systems. To see the full changelog, see our previous article on them. ‍ Imaginesim, a popular ESP-platform developer, announced and previewed their first X-Plane scenery last week with news of their Austin Bergstrom Airport scenery coming soon to Laminar’s sim. Their first X-Plane project is a conversion of their existing rendition for Prepar3D and FSX. ‍ ‍ X-Plane old timers FlyJSim have shown off more progress on their recently announced Q4XP. The Q4XP is the successor the Q400 V2, however is being built from the ground up, with new modelling being one of the major benefactors of this. In a post on theFlyJSim Pilots Facebook group,FlyJSim PR Manager Dellanie Byron released a video of the Q4XP's wingflex in action. See more in our full article here. ‍ Moving into the weekend, Orbx debuted their latest scenery conversion based aroundFairoaks Airport (EGTF). The airport is nearby the hub of Formula 1 team McLaren, who’s base is included in the scenery. See the new previews here. ‍ Developer Andrzej Borysewicz has uploaded a pair of preview videos of Super-Critical Simulations' next aircraft, the CRJ-700 for X-Plane. The project was initially announced in 2015 and is now closing in on release. See the new preview videos here. ‍ ‍ ShortFinal Design developer MisterX6 released new previews of their upcoming Munich (EDDM) scenery today, along with a sneak preview of their next project. Early speculation appears to point towards SFD’s new project not being based around an airport, but rather a region, perhaps like the recently released JapanPro. ‍ - ‍ That’s all for this week! As always, you can give us some feedback on ourFacebook page, or via the contact form here. Happy flying - and have a wonderful day SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://www.thresholdx.net/news/210119?fbclid=IwAR1FzDzl37HrWaUYIzlf7TT8r8X5iYQmmfhhq0EQBqQlWjMrqVbUro8fRf8

  6. Fellow Loungers, I have just received an update from QualityWings via Facebook which contains a variety of updates on updates and other development work, this related to their Ultimate 146, 757 and 787 products. The most interesting for me personally is the introduction of PBR materials and a remote CDU (on your phone, tablet etc) for the 787 product, 'due soon' as part of the upcoming v1.1.3 update. == For those of you that are not on Facebook, the main updates by product are as follows: Ultimate 146 Following the release of the Ultimate 146 for Prepar3D Version 4, we received some unbelievably positive feedback and will be providing an update for the 146 in P3DV4 soon. Development work is complete for this update and it is currently undergoing final stages of testing. Ultimate 757 Around the time that we announced that that the 146 was being worked on for a release in P3DV4, we also indicated that the 757 was also in development for the platform. There was a bit more work than anticipated to make the product work in P3DV4, but we assure you that it is in the works. With that said, I must also acknowledge that we are aware of some of the difficulties being experienced by some of this product regarding the activation process. We do apologize for any inconvenience. We will be moving our current Ultimate 757 product from the Esellerate system and migrating the customer database to the Flight1 licensing system. That should alleviate some of the issues some of you may have been experiencing. Again, please bear with us as we work through this transition, which will coincide with the release of the product into P3DV4. Ultimate 787 As previously mentioned, we are continuing to improve the 787 and Update 1.1.3 is due soon. This update to the 787 includes some exciting new additions, one is a result of improved features available with the release of P3D Version 4.4: Physically Based Rendering The 787s models and textures have been adapted to take advantage of these exciting and impressive visual features. PBR is really exciting stuff, but it’s too bad that the 787 fuselage isn’t completely aluminum. Because it would sure be fun to see how that looks. But I guess we will have to wait for upcoming products in development that can really show off bare metal. We sill think it helps the 787 visuals tremendously. We highly encourage everyone to upgrade to the latest version of P3D to benefit from the improved visuals. PBR models will not be available for FSX and outdated versions of P3Dv4. == Plus, additional info via the FSElite page: In addition to PBR, the next version of the Ultimate 787 will bring support for Remote CDU on the lower MFD and the Electronic Flight Bag. Remote CDU will mean you can see any page from the lower display (including the FMS) on multiple mobile devices including Android tablets/phones, Apple products and even Windows tablets and phones. Finally, the team gave a brief list of other updates users can expect in the upcoming update: · Significant Stability Improvements · Autothrottle oscillations above Mach .85 · Improved Panel state loading · PFD Speedtape coffin corner simulation · And many more No timeline was given on when this update would be made available. 7. Carenado confirmed via a Facebook post that their upcoming Dassault Falcon FA50 EX will soon be available for Prepar3D users. The long-range business jet, known for it’s symbolic three engine design, will soon be available to buy in Prepar3D. The new aircraft from Carenado will include a range of features such as an improved Proline 21, real start up procedures and interior reflection on materials. Furthermore, the aircraft will be completely VR ready and clickspots have been made specifically for the aircraft to be easy to use as well as sound like their real-world counterpart. Carenado have worked hard on also ensuring that there is wingflex and that the flight dynamics are as realistic as possible. The Facebook post alludes to the fact that the product is coming “very soon”. No exact release date was mentioned, nor price, but we imagine it’ll be before the end of the week. 12. FSElite has obtained verified documents that suggest that Lockheed Martin are preparing to release Prepar3D V4.4 in Q4 of 2018. Even more exciting is the fact that these leaked documents point to version 4.4 being the first step to enabling Physically Based Rendering (PBR) textures in the simulator. The leaked documentation includes an internal email conversation from an internal Lockheed Martin developer addressing to members of the Lockheed Martin team with details about the upcoming release. The internal email dated August 13th states that “Prepar3D V4.4’s beta is available now”. Whilst the information has not been publicly confirmed by Lockheed Martin at this time, we have received confirmation about the validity of this information from a source familiar with the future of P3D. We first discovered these details when someone posted somewhat privy details in a popular Facebook group. We then took the evidence presented in that group, asked reputable sources within the development community and asked for verification. Further details were then sent to FSElite – all of which were then verified to be accurate. As you can imagine, these people wish to remain anonymous. This is not the first time FSElite reported on upcoming new features for Prepar3D ahead of time. We were the first to inform that version 4 would indeed be 64-bit. 13. Laminar Research has dropped some interesting photographs of something that isn’t seen in current flight simulators – neighbourhoods. The X-Plane developer showed off two photos on their Facebook page showcasing what they titled ‘neighbourhood auto-gen”. The photographs showed high-resolution photos of a typical neighbourhood setting, complete with houses, a park, and mailboxes at the end of the driveway – all from a street-level perspective. While there is no firm release date for the 11.30 update, the developer has teased some other features that will be included, such as particle effects, updated physics (using research mode), upgraded prop-wash and down-wash effects, crew and passenger oxygen systems, anti-ice systems, and new autopilots. 15. I know we have the Maddog, but I have been emailing these guys to do a P3D variant of this plane. For a long time they weren't interested, so it was a surprise when they suddenly announced the v4 compatibility on Facebook. This is a study level airplane with failure simulations. The Super 80 Classic, Super 80 Professional and DC-9 Classic are now coming to Prepar3D! We are currently in beta testing. Release expected soon. It's been a while since I last posted on the website. I appologise for that. During the last few months we've been busy preparing all our aircraft for Prepar3d version 4. We are currently beta testing the aircraft. We have just about completed testing of the DC-9 Classic and Super 80 Pro. Next up is the Super 80 Classic. Unfortunately, I don't have an exact release date for you other than "soon". The P3D versions of our aircraft will be almost the same as the old FSX versions. With the exception of the DC-9 Classic Flight Center which has been implemented in the Super 80 Classic and Super 80 Pro as well, there are no major upgrades or modifications to the aircraft or cockpits. The focus is on bringing the aircraft to P3D. The P3D versions of the Super 80 Classic, Super 80 Pro and DC-9 Classic will be sold as separate products from the FSX versions. Pricing and possible discounts for existing customers has not been finalized yet. 16. Orbx Triengen and Luzern-Beromünster Coming Soon Over on the Orbx forums, it was announced that the next airport in the Orbx lineup will be LSPN Triengen and LSZO Luzern-Beromunster for FSX and P3D! The product itself will contain both airfields in typical Orbx quality.. Key features include a scenic landscape location, realistic HD textures, 30cm coverage around the airport, Orbx Flow technology, detailed visual charts, and so much more. A full feature list can be found at the bottom of this article. Typical with Orbx, this announcement came with a huge amount of previews. I’ll attach the first 20 below, and those who want to view the full set can do so in the Orbx announcement here. The two airports were said to be coming soon, with a price already set at $32.95 AUD, so expect a release to be in the near future! When the two airports release, we’ll try our hardest to be the first to let you know! 22. Hi all, it seems that David Rosenfeld is working on an scenery update for LLBG Ben Gurion, Israel : 22 Jun 2017 : "I'm working on LLBG new scenery. ", David Rosenfeld said on fsdeveloper.com The new version is far from complete because Mr. Rosenfeld only made early developments in summer 2017 as shown on the pictures posted on fsdeveloper.com. This is not an annoucement or a preview. In this topic Mr. Rosenfeld only requested help for some terrain/mesh development in P4D v4. I was able to catch that information while I was looking for something else on fsdevelopper.com. In 2011, David Rosenfeld was the author of Ben Gurion Airport V2 FSX This 2011 scenery can be found here : https://fsaddonshop.com/products/ben-gurion-airport-v2-fsx But the airport evolved since 2011, with a new satellite added to the main terminal and the runway 21 expansion opened in May 2014. Also a new control tower was built. As a side note, a few years ago I made an updated afcad with the new runway 21. It is a temporary workaround to wait for the updated David Rosenfeld scenery.
