  1. FSElite Exclusive: SSG CRJ-700 WIP Cockpit Previews by MAX DYBA on 5TH FEBRUARY 2019 PREVIEWSXPL We’ve been closely following progress on Supercritical Simulation Group‘s high-fidelity, work-in-progress CRJ-700 for a while now. The team has graciously provided us with some exclusive previews of the CRJ’s work-in-progress cockpit modelled by Andrzej (AJ) Borysewicz and textured by Konstantinos (Kostas) Koronakis in-sim. Formed back in 2011, SSG consists of 7 team members plus technical consultants such as real-world pilots who work very hard to bring quality add-on aircraft to the market for the X-Plane community. Popular aircraft which they’ve developed so far include the SSG E-Jets Evolution Series and 747-8 series. These exclusive previews are the first of many which you’ll be seeing of the SSG CRJ-700’s cockpit in-detail. A lot of attention has been paid to making this cockpit strongly resemble a regularly used Bombardier CRJ-700 with decals, wear, tear and more. The CRJ will include a custom EFB to manage aircraft load, control doors and more. The price will be similar to that of their E-Jets Evolution Series and an end of 2019 release is speculated. Systems are not yet integrated into this version of the aircraft shown meaning we don’t have much information on those as of yet. The systems shown on the PFD and navigational display are only placeholders. All systems will be strung together and coded with SASL and are said to represent their real-world counterparts as closely as possible. Do bear in mind that all of these previews display an incomplete and work-in-progress product and may not at all resemble the final product. You can find out more about SSG’s CRJ-Series by joining their official Facebook group where you can see more previews, videos and ask questions. We’ll ensure to keep you up-to-date on the latest regarding the SSG CRJ-Series for X-Plane 11. 3. SSG Previews CRJ-700 Exterior Over on their Facebook group, Supercritical Simulations Group (SSG) has announced a major milestone in the development of their CRJ-700NG for X-Plane. The exterior modeling and texturing on their CRJ-700NG has been more or less finalised. Along with the announcement, they’ve provided an abundance of eye-catching screenshots for your viewing pleasure. Previewed, are the seven individual liveries which will be included in the final product along with the CRJ house livery. SSG has told us exclusively that the price will be close to that of their E-Jets add-ons and that they speculate a mid-2019 release. Version two of their Boeing 747-8 is currently taking priority over the CRJ until released. If any more information arises regarding development, we will be sure to keep you updated. 7. From Aerosoft forum: We used the weekend to fix some more issues - actually none of them was really introduced with 1.0.5, but this should help to further reduce the number of issues and make flying the CRJ more enjoyable. Changelog: - [Fixed] Doors not working in FSX SP2 - [Fixed] DAVE payload changes now trigger a 120 second wait period before updating its data from FS again. The "SET PAYLOAD AND FUEL" button flashes during that time - [Fixed] Loading of procedures starting with a certain combination of Rwy-SID-Transition and SID (KDEN 17R FOOOT3 SID) - [Added] Throttle hint indicator is now visible on the HGS as well - [Fixed] CRJ Manager placing 10 people on 9 seats in business class when clicking "Full" - [Fixed] APU sound loop playing in exterior view although APU is stopped - [Fixed] Tiller animation on P3D v4.2 - [Fixed] Keyboard control for rudder - [Fixed] Station distance indicator on PFD sometimes showed ".10" as decimal part - [Fixed] Updated flight dynamics with more rudder authority while the yaw damper is enabled There are no fixes for the reported LNAV and Glideslope capture issues as those were simply not reproducable. Unfortunately that means there's nothing we could fix yet. For more information as well as download links, click on the source link below. 8. Not sure how I missed this one, Hans has published a pretty extensive changelog on what is expected from the latest update (tentative release of 1st or 2nd of March) to the CRJ product. While the CRJ took its sweet time to be developed, it would be fairly okay to assume that it was rushed out the door. However, constant updates from the developer means it is constantly improving. This sounds like a big one so it deserves to get some attention. From Aerosoft forum: Hello everyone! First, I'd like to apologize that it took so long. The simple reason is that we wanted to get it right this time! After the last beta was already OK'ed by them, I uploaded version 1.0.5 to the beta testers today. As long as I didn't mess up anything with this version (cross your fingers!), it will be sent to Aerosoft for installer building tomorrow. Depending on the schedule of the Aerosoft guys it should be available for public download on Thursday or Friday. Here's the readme so you can see what was fixed, changed or added: Aerosoft CRJ 700/900 Update 1.0.5 ================================= ******************************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************************* *** The 64-bit version of this update requires Lockheed Martin Prepar3D v4.2 or higher! 13. Head over to the Aerosoft Shop to pick up the CRJ 700/900 X for €41.98. As expected, the plane is ready for P3D V4. Product information "CRJ 700/900 X" Most flight simulator fans prefer flights that do not exceed two hours, and for a good reason. The parts of simulated flights considered “fun” are the departure and arrival. That’s why commuters are so popular with flight simulator fans. The Bombardier CRJ 700 and 900 series are some of the most often used regional airliners today – every 10 seconds, one of them takes off. You will find them at most airports worldwide. Although not very popular with passengers as those seats are indeed very small and you cannot even stand upright if you are tall, airline companies prefer them because they are efficient and reliable. They are still in production, and although the newer models have better seats, larger overhead bins and better sound proofing they will never be really comfortable. Pilots like to fly them because they are powerful, agile, and a joy to fly manually. It is often described as ‘sporty’. They also demand more flying skill than a modern Airbus or Boeing because the flight management systems are limited, for example: no auto throttle and only advisory vertical navigation. In our simulators, they were missing for a long time, but the Aerosoft / Digital Aviation CRJ 700/900 X provides the aircraft we have all been waiting for. As with all internal aircraft projects, the CRJ was created with the job of the pilot in mind. It fully focuses on the task of piloting this aircraft. We feel that things that have never happened in real life should not play a major role and that allows us to create a high-end aircraft for a modest price. Highlights: Exquisite modelling with many animations with up-to-date standards VAS and FPS friendly because we love complex airports as much as you do Extended Flight Management System delivered with August 2017 nav data (compatible with NavDataPro and Navigraph) Complete MCDU with full keyboard control option All displays available as high resolution 2D windows Highly accurate flight model Panel State saving/loading Standard Sound set done by Turbine Sounds Systems, additional Virtual Cockpit sounds provide by Aerosoft Heads-up Guidance system Includes Frank, our avatar to walk around the aircraft and airports (Prepar3D only) Fully functional (though linked to this aircraft) RAAS provided by FS2Crew Complete management tool to load fuel, passengers, and baggage. 16. I bought this plane, mainly because i'm a visuals kinda guy and TWO of the liveries are from my home country of BOLIVIA so yea... • From a distance it looks good, up close not so good. • Engine animations...looks like they modeled the recent AirAsia in flight vibration model. • Flight Model is absolute GARBAGE, landing it is virtually impossible, think you can flare? HAH! Throttle at idle, full flaps, speed under 120, flare and you shoot back up into the sky. (Cue AerosimGaming Rant) • Within the earths atmosphere I could do backflips, Reverse flips over the top, full rolls. • Achieve over 710 knots speed under 10,000 ft and in level flight. Yes, you can go beyond the Speed of Sound. • It handles in the sky about as well as a satellite does in orbit...and well then I just got inspired. Need to see more!? https://www.twitch.tv/videos/154730878 All in all is it worth $25? NO. Is it worth $20? NOT COMPARED TO OTHER $20 OFFERINGS Is it Freeware Worthy? YES, there are however some freeware planes that poop on this. I'd say its a $9.99 special, and I'm tempted to request a refund, except I love those Bolivian liveries....and I value keeping my simmarket account and access to past purchases... Nice bird for screenshots and model matching, that's about it. -e
