Further to their confirmati0n that they are going to bring Singapore to a new standard with PBR (Physically Based Rendering), Imaginesim has shared some new previews of the effects in full force. Speaking to the developers earlier today, the team have discovered a new way PBR rain textures into the product for fantastic effects. As you can see from the various screenshots, when the rain falls in Singapore, you will know about it. The Prepar3D V4 update will come along soon and will include a few bug fixes and also ensure that the location of the airport is correctly geo-located. Once we know about a release date, we’ll let you know about it. For now, follow Imaginesim on Facebook. Or you can buy Singapore from Imaginesim via their web store for £25.99. If you still use FSX, you can grab that version for the same price here. It should be noted that the PBR update will only work for Prepar3D V4.4 and above. Aerobask has given a sneak peak on what their new rain effects will look like on their E1000. Via their YouTube channel, a 30 second clip was revealed. The video showed the rain effects being use on their E1000 with the G1000. The clip shows that the windscreen isn’t the only that that will be covered in water droplets, as even the cabin windows will be effected. It also seems like there will be some neat sound effects combined with the visual effects to create an immersive experience. Flight1 Updates FS Effects (FS Stall Effects) Over on their Facebook page, Flight One Software has announced that an update to their FS Effects utility has been released. This update also brings a name revision, FS Effects was previously named FS Stall Effects. FS Effects is a unique and highly-configurable add-on utility for FSX/SE and Prepar3D v3-4 which realistically enhances your virtual flight experience. The add-on utility has received an update to version 1.02 which adds more controls to tweak and edit your aircraft’s flight characteristics. This update introduces throttle response tweaking, engine start-up time tweaking and a battery life extension which allows you to increase the length of time your aircrafts’ battery will last for before the engine gets to juice it up which is unrealistic for some aircraft. The interface allows you to select an aircraft from your library and make adjustments to the characteristics listed at the end of this article. Over on the x-plane.org website (or just the 'ORG' as many of you cool kids call it), the extremely talented developer of the Zibo 737NG Mod for XP11 has just posted a little test video where he's testing how his 3D rain effects play on the windshield of the aircraft. They are nothing short of stunning! I want this in P3D..NOW! Take a look: https://drive.google.com/open?id=16n6cyJrvu62ylcOeMkFazLakQV12bcWU It is a WIP so treat it as such and excuse any glaring errors with the physics or how the effect performs in general. Now, let's react! As Hurricane Irma diminished to a tropical storm this morning, many in Florida are no doubt breathing a sigh of relief. But the storm did have a strong impact on general aviation, particularly among airports and FBOs on the western side of the state. With millions left without power, along with localized flooding and curfews in some cities hindering the arrival of staffers, the business aviation industry was groggily rising back to its feet as of Monday morning.
