Courtesy of BBC news, here is another report showing yet more disruption to commercial aviation caused by drones. The sooner they find a solution to irresponsible and downright dangerous drone flying the better: == Passengers at one of the UK's busiest airports have been warned to expect further flight disruption after drones were seen over the airfield. Gatwick's runway remains closed after two of the devices were seen nearby, sparking a string of delays and diversions on Wednesday evening. Outbound flights were grounded and incoming planes redirected - with some landing in Paris and Amsterdam. Passengers due to travel have been told to check the status of their flight. == More details including the misery passengers endured on diverted flights are available via the link below. Today UK2000 has released EGKK London Gatwick Extreme for both X-Plane 10 and 11. This anticipated release was announced on their official Facebook page just moments ago. For those that don’t know, UK2000 has for years solely developed for the Microsoft ESP Platform but now has also started to target, and port their products to X-Plane too. This clearly is not an easy task, though the team has worked extremely hard to give the Flight Sim Community with what they have wanted. This rendition of EGKK includes custom taxiways, physical-based rendering on each Terminal window/reflective services and even interior Terminal modelling. The night lighting also looks great and should help with those night-time landings. Here are all the features the team has added so far as a summary: Custom Light fx’s and halo’s. Custom Taxiways so you can see the stand you are selecting in the UI. Ground routes for AI (coming soon and we will update this post when these are added™) Highly detailed Jetway textures Physical Based Rendering on terminal windows/reflective surfaces Interior Terminal modeling As with most of their products, you can buy this gorgeous scenery package for £16.99 on their website. When ordering just make sure to select the X-Plane version near the bottom of the order. LINK TO SOURCE: https://fselite.net/news/uk2000-egkk-gatwick-extreme-released-x-plane/
Another one for X-Plane users! UK2000, popular for their UK airports for P3D, have announced that Gatwick is in beta for X-Plane. The release date has been set for January 27th, 2018! The product will be priced at around $24.21 (£16.99). So X-Plane users, get your wallets out for this! What’s There? Some features include Custom Light FX, Selectable Stands in UI, AI Taxi Routes, PBR for windows, etc. I will have to say though, looking at the screenshots, it looks fantastic! Sit back, relax, and enjoy some of the screenshots that UK2000 have provided! LINK TO SOURCE: https://www.airdailyx.net/article/uk2000-gatwick-beta-x-plane-release-imminent/
Just now UK2000 announced Gatwick Xtreme XP scenery for the X-Plane platform entered the beta stage, in other words very close to release. Price is to 16.99 GBP and release date is the 27th of January. As UK2000 stated back in November, some features baked in are custom light and halo effects, custom taxiway that enables you to see the stand you are selecting the UI. Ground routes made for the AI are coming soon. Highly detailed jetway textures to give the best realism feeling plus it will come with physical based rendering on terminal windows and other reflective surfaces to make it as real as possible. Have only heard of this developer before but never tried any of their products. You think Gary from UK2000 has one more competitor to tackle or are you confident his new Gatwick will take care of all competitors for him? From the developer: Hi guys, it has been a long time since we made some major announcement here. We're proud to announce our current Project for FSX and P3D v3 and v4 : Gatwick! The following screenshots were taken on P3D version, with a native P3D ground. Stayed tuned! O.
