Further to their confirmati0n that they are going to bring Singapore to a new standard with PBR (Physically Based Rendering), Imaginesim has shared some new previews of the effects in full force. Speaking to the developers earlier today, the team have discovered a new way PBR rain textures into the product for fantastic effects. As you can see from the various screenshots, when the rain falls in Singapore, you will know about it. The Prepar3D V4 update will come along soon and will include a few bug fixes and also ensure that the location of the airport is correctly geo-located. Once we know about a release date, we’ll let you know about it. For now, follow Imaginesim on Facebook. Or you can buy Singapore from Imaginesim via their web store for £25.99. If you still use FSX, you can grab that version for the same price here. It should be noted that the PBR update will only work for Prepar3D V4.4 and above. 2. As developers get to grip with PBR being in Prepar3D V4.4, the more products are starting to receive the texture treatment. Announced a few weeks back, scenery developers Imaginesim are bringing PBR texture work to their most recent release Singapore (WSSS). Today, the team shared a few new previews of the work in progress. The team concluded their Facebook post by stating that it should be “due in a few weeks”. Whilst development of bringing PBR texturing to the Prepar3D V4 version is underway, there is also another handful of developers within Imaginesim working on porting it over to FSX. Furthermore, X-Plane 11 users have Austin to look forward to from Imaginesim. Finally, we shouldn’t forget they’re also working on bringing Los Angeles (KLAX) to Prepar3D. 9. [UPDATE 0715z 20/09/18] ImagineSim Seeking Support to Develop Frankfurt (EDDF) Scenery [UPDATE 0715z 20/09/18] ImagineSim has now confirmed on their Facebook page that Frankfurt is no longer going ahead due to the lack of co-operation from airport authorities at Frankfurt. —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————- Frankfurt seems to be an extremely popular airport within the flight sim community to develop. Aerosoft have already released a popular rendition of the airport, and Flightbeam were keen to create one. Sadly, the later of the two has been cancelled. However, it would appear that ImagineSim are looking to break into the German market with their own version. Whilst ImagineSim are updating their website to bring it to more modern times, they have updated their “Future Products” section of the site. Thanks to reader Dean, who informed us of the information originally, the future products part of the site is now seeking assistance for developing Frankfurt Airport. The team state that they now have access to “remarkable” ground imagery for many airports in the German area. As part of their new “evolution” series of products, Frankfurt was chosen to be the first to take advantage of this new imagery. However, the team have met some challenges along the way, similarly to Flightbeam, in that they cannot get the access they need to take on-site photos for the product. The team are asking that anyone who works at, or has contacts with, Frankfurt Airport should reach out to them to help get things moving along. They’re generally looking for someone who can obtain details about pathways and other fact-finding information. No time frames or other information was given at this time. In the mean time, you can view some of our exclusive images for Singapore, which we’re hoping is released sooner than later. The screenshots are work in progress, and represent part 1 or 2 of screenshots we have to show you. The scenery is still in development and awaiting on a few new assets before it’s released finally to the public. By our estimates, we think a release in September is looking likely. 15. I have been going back-and-forth with LGA sceneries over the years. It has been very hard to find a good balance of performance and quality while shooting the expressway visual runway 31 at night. Until now that is! After going from ImagineSim KLGA to New York Airports X KLGA, I finally found a great rendition of my home airport: ImagineSim is about to release a whole new version of LGA highly optimized to keep those frames up amid all that New York City autogen. We are working on a full review of the scenery but in the meantime I leave you with some screenshots. The scenery comes with 4 seasonal textures. These winter screenshots actually feel just like a NYC winter. Enjoy! 16. In a short Facebook post recently, Imaginesim has given us an insight into how the development of the upcoming P3D v4 version of KLGA is coming along. KLGA in P3D v4 will bring an entirely new version, free for all existing KLGA 2016 customers. Included in the new version are new optimization LODs and performance improvements of a third when compared to the previous version of KLGA. Nothing else was said except that the product is expected to be ready for release in early February. Be sure to stay tuned to FSElite for any new information about this upcoming scenery and for a release when the time comes! LINK TO SOURCE: https://fselite.net/
  17. ImagineSim has been awfully busy lately. They’ve released a brand new version of their Atlanta scenery, which was completely free and provided the community with some fantastic new performance features. We have known for a while that they are working on Singapore and now their focus appears to be back on that Asian airport. 18. Imaginesim has released their Atlanta scenery for P3D v4, brining a plethora of performance improvements and optimizations. Many shudder with fear and dread just at the slightest mention of flying into Atlanta in flight sim, and for good reason. Due to the sheer size of the airport, being one of the largest in the world and situated near a densely populated city, performance has always been abysmal at ATL, even with the default ATL. Imaginesim has found a way to remedy this, however, and their achievements are nothing short of mind blowing. This new update to Atlanta, exclusive for P3D v4, brings with it monumental performance gains, and new features such as a high definition building textures, switchable dynamic lighting options, SODE jetways, seasonal texture options, and more. A full feature list can be found at the bottom of this article. New features are great and all but not if they come at a cost to performance. This is where it really gets interesting; Imaginesim have managed to DOUBLE the framerate when compared to the previous P3D version of ATL. and nearly tripled it when compared to the FSX version. They have even been able to get 10% higher fps, with all options enable, than the default version of ATL; a true achievement considering the difference in quality! Another feature worth mentioning is their new airport config tool they have implemented for Atlanta. Following the likes of Flightbeam and Turbulent Designs, as well as Orbx, who have standalone applications to manage their scenery, Imagine sim have implemented their own for ATL. This tool will allow you to customize and tune your scenery to get your desired performance, with nearly all performance intensive options being able to be disabled. This is great news for those with lower end systems who want to fly complex airliners into Atlanta and will no doubt be greatly appreciated and utilized. Even better is that this update is free to existing ATL 2016 customers. The new version will appear in your flightsimstore account, or inside the Flight1 wrapper download from their website. Feature list: • Gigantic improvement in performance using procedures optimized for Prepar3D V4. • Framerate speeds up by over double compared with previous Prepar3D version. Tripled and more when compared to FSX version. • High definition building texturing and improved new V4 ground polygons. • Fluid usage, even with complex airliner cockpits and high density AI coverage. • Low visibility nav lighting. • Switchable dynamic lighting option. • New and bespoke Operations Center configuration GUI. • Comprehensive ground and building optimization. • Interactive SODE jetways. • Instantaneous scenery cache loading. • Seasonal texture options. • 10.2-mile square coverage of the KATL area. • Low simulator impact. • Graduated ground extremities to seamlessly blend with any vector is driven add-on. • Improved autogen coverage.
