[12 January 2019] Priority NOTAM: Ultimate Ground Crew X (UGCX) and Pilot Assist Pro News (DCS F/A-18 Hornet Support!) Please visit: www.fs2crew.com The Pilot Assist Pro News: We built Pilot Assist Pro for Apple mobile devices with real-world flying in mind, but Flight Simmers can also take advantage of Pilot Assist Pro (www.pilotassistpro.com), especially the checklist and weather functionality. That said, we're proud to announce that Capt J has recently uploaded an outstanding F-18 Hornet checklist to the Pilot Assist Pro designed to be used specifically with the awesome DCS F/A-18 Hornet simulator. His new F-18 checklist is available via the on-line hanger for free in Pilot Assist Pro. Capt J has over 1,500 hours in the Hornet with experience in all models and he has completed two combat cruises. His contributed checklist combines F/A-18C NATOPS procedures along with best practices used by current pilots in the fleet. Moreover, his checklist provides an easy to use approach that will help a DCS F-18 simulator pilot quickly master the flows that are currently being used and taught in the actual aircraft. Pilot Assist Pro is currently on sale. Regular price is $39 USD. The sale price is approximately $18 depending on your local currency plus taxes. Please taxi to: www.pilotassistpro.com for more info. 2. "Airworthy Designs have been working hard throughout the Christmas break on their Princess of the Caribbean series for X-Plane. Part One of the series was released back in April to mixed fanfare, due to large performance issues which have now been patched - it has now been updated to v1.7. Part Two will contain the airports of Saba and St. Barths, both of which are notorious amongst aviation fans for their hard approaches. AWD have been sprinkling previews of the new St. Barths scenery since late December, with further screenshots released today." 4. So, want more xEnviro news? Update 3rd of September: Weekly Update: (WORK IN PROGRESS!) Today we have closed two most important items in our roadmap, both related to the cockpit camera and both responsible for numerous visual artifacts. Finally we are moving over to our new cloud system, volume rendering, final atmosphere tuning and testing. Yup, were on the home stretch. Its a long home stretch but the mountains of two steps forward and two steps back then falling, getting hurt and stand up marginally further than where we fell.... is over. The largest hurdle in our journey to the noise rendered volumetric clouds is behind us. Say goodbye to the horizon shift slider height limitations of 60k feet and a couple of other things, say hello to zoom, volumetric clouds and an atmosphere that calculates the sky color correctly ? Thank you Ben Supnik for the answers we needed. So... here are some more shots from the latest progress. I'm excited! Back to work! For pictures look up (latest posts): https://forum.thresholdx.net/topic/241-110-development-screenshots/ And the latest video: Bonus thingy: SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK :

DCS: Yak-52 Released on Steam This week we moved the new DCS World Open Beta content to the Release version. In addition to adding the Yak-52, other important changes include: Steam Store Trailer video The Yakovlev Yak-52 is a tandem seat, radial engine, trainer aircraft that served as the primary aircraft trainer for the Soviet Union and many other nations. Introduced in 1979, the Yak-52 has been a popular choice among air forces given its rugged construction, ease of handling, tricycle landing gear, and simple maintenance. These same characteristic have made it a popular civilian aerobatics aircraft in its later years. The Yak-52 is powered by a single Vedeneyev M-14P, nine-cylinder radial piston engine with 360 horsepower. We have created a new radial piston engine simulation from the ground up with a highly-realistic engine cooling model. The aircraft is very response given an empty weight of just one ton and large controls surfaces. Capable of pulling over 7 G and pushing up to negative 5 G, it’s no wonder the Yak-52 has been popular with aerobatic teams around the world. The DCS: Yak-52 provides a realistic pilot training progression from the Yak-52, to the L-39C jet trainer, to modern fighters like the MiG-29 and Su-27. Key Features: Professional Flight Model that duplicates the flight characteristics of the Yak-52 Detailed and realistic simulation of post-stall behavior that allows edge-of and out-of-envelope maneuvers Complete systems modeling of the Yak-52 that includes the engine, fuel, electrical and pneumatic systems Realistic, mouse-interactive cockpit in which almost all controls can be interacted with Accurate external and cockpit sounds that were recorded from a Yak-52 Interactive training missions included. Learn to start up, taxi, takeoff, and land the Yak-52 like a real pilot Multiple liveries as both a military trainer and civilian aerobatic aircraft Cooperative multiplayer. Fly with a friend in the same aircraft Full virtual reality supported for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Microsoft Mixed Reality, and others Sincerely, The Eagle Dynamics Team SOURCE INFOhttps://store.steampowered.com/app/223750/DCS_World_Steam_Edition/?bx_sender_conversion_id=6645424 DEVELOPER POST LINK : https://store.steampowered.com/app/223750/DCS_World_Steam_Edition/?bx_sender_conversion_id=6645424 NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://store.steampowered.com/app/223750/DCS_World_Steam_Edition/?bx_sender_conversion_id=6645424

  11. Update from DCS about v2.5 bug fixes and a helicopter sale... = DCS World 2.5 Update Since last week's newsletter, the team continues to address items discovered during the Open Beta test period. Items such as fog discoloration, night lighting, multiplayer performance, load times, and others are all being addressed for the release version. It is very important that any changes made for the DCS World 2.5 release version maintain or improve game performance of the 2.5 Open Beta. Since the DCS World 2.5 Open Beta release, we have released three Hot Fixes. You can read their change logs on the DCS forum. Once we feel that all the significant issues of the 2.5 Open Beta have been resolved, we will then release the DCS World 2.5 installer and update to DCS World 2.5. DCS World Helicopter 30% Off Sale Continues Our DCS World helicopter sale will end on 19 February 2018 at 0900. One of the biggest benefits of DCS World 2.5 is that it's a much better environment to fly helicopters. The higher-resolution terrain elevation mesh, higher resolution terrain and object textures, much improved trees, huge forests, and trees that now have collision / block line of sight for weapons, all create a much more engaging and beautiful environment to fly in. 12. Great news! Now Skyline and ORBX work together to convert ORBX sceneries for X-Plane 11! Skyline Simulations (formerly Icarus Simulations) have announced that they’re teaming up with Orbx to bring their famed sceneries to the X-Plane platform. In a very brief post on their Facebook page, Skyline Sim announced the collaboration with one simple line: Great news! Now Skyline and ORBX work together to convert ORBX sceneries for X-Plane 11! The announcement means that Orbx join an ever-growing list of traditionally P3D developers that have realised the potential for their products on the X-Plane platform. Most notably, HiFi Sim announced their intentions to bring Activesky to X-Plane during a presentation at FlightSimCon last year. News surrounding that has been scarce since the announcement, but you’ll surely agree that 2018 is shaping up to be a big year for the X-Plane community. FSElite has reached out to Skyline Sim and Orbx for further comment, and we’ll let you know if we hear anything more SOURCE INFO https://fselite.net/news/skyline-simulations-team-orbx-bring-orbx-products-x-plane/
