  1. What do people make of this add on? Kevin's opinion in particular would be interesting. Released for X-Plane earlier in January, MWP Projects has brought their ATMOENGINE to Prepar3D V4. The product itself is a texture replacement system, which will add photoreal colours to the sky, giving a more realistic simulator. Whether this is through realistic haze density, more appropriate cloud sizes, additional night lighting and more. ATMOENGINE also changes the water for more realism as well as the shadows within the simulator. MWP Projects also claim that their product enhances the sim, but at no cost to your frames per second – or as they’ve put it, an “FPS boost”. The product can be bought from simMarket for €18.90. You can find the X-Plane version here, which costs less at just €13.95. Features: Sky without sharp transition between color tones Photoreal colors adapted to the simulator environment. Photoreal skycolors during a thunderstorm, etc Realistic Atmosphere Realistic haze density Realistic haze density in the mountains Photoreal haze color Smooth horizon line Normal horizon position Realistic moon glow effect Normal rayleigh effect Custom clouds Custom Hi-Res clouds Real clouds color Realistic cloud forms Photoreal cloud specular Real cloud size Normal color tones Night Lights Normal lights bloom Normal lights scale Normal lights color Shadows Realistic color of aircraft shadows Realistic color of cloud shadows Real cloud shadows size Hi-Res cloud shadows No flickering shadows from the clouds Water Dynamic water waves Normal waves speed Realistic wave amplitude and scale Realistic sun reflections on water Realistic moon reflections on water Photoreal water color SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://fselite.net/news/mwp-projects-release-atmoengine-for-prepar3d-v4/

  3. As TrueEarth development continues, Orbx is dropping further details on their upcoming TrueEarth US projects and beyond. In particular, John Venema has detailed which areas we can expect work to be developed and also the inclusion of new PBR models and cityscapes. So far, John confirmed, over 800 points of interest (POI) 3D models are planned for Washington State alone. These objects will be created using the latest PBR technology. Furthermore, there are plans to include many PBR cityscapes as well within these North American TrueEarth projects. The same details will also be included in further American TrueEarth projects in the future. In the past, we’ve heard that Washington, Oregon, British Columbia and California were to be released as TrueEarth products in the future. John has now broken that down into the areas we can expect: PNW Washington – Seattle, Bellevue, Everett, Tacoma, Olympia, Spokane, Victoria BC PNW Oregon – Portland, Eugene PNW British Columbia – Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey, Nanaimo Northern California – San Francisco, Alameda, Silicon Valley, San Jose, Oakland, Sacramento Southern California – Los Angeles, Hollywood, San Diego, Santa Maria, Long Beach Further to that, John also shared what future projects may look like. There are plans well into 2020 for TrueEarth projects including New Zealand South and North, Spain, Austria, Norway and New England Martimes. All of the information can be found via the Orbx forums. There are already a variety of TrueEarth projects available for Prepar3D, X-Plane 11 and Aerofly FS 2. 4. 1 of 5,948 UPDATE: TOGA PROJECTS - ENVSHADE P3D Dear simMarket Customer, at http://www.simmarket.com you can now find an update of your product: TOGA PROJECTS - ENVSHADE P3D (Envshade_patch_1.0.6.exe) Dear Envshade user, We're glad to announce that our last update of the year is now available for Envshade. This update finally brings the directional clouds lighting tweak we are working on for several months ! While the native directional clouds lighting was still available in others well known shader programs, it was only made compatible with the other tweaks. We didn't stop there: Envshade changes completely the way directional clouds lighting is working to get a realistic feeling round the clock: clouds now receive light depending on their relative position to the sun (and the moon during night time) and of course Envshade also dynamically manages this effect depending on the time of day. And if you think this is PBR compatible, you are totally right ! Full Changelog: - Directional cumulus clouds lighting added (for P3D v4.3 and higher) - Cloud shadows reworked - Cirrus clouds lighting readjusted depending on day-time To update your product, please simply click the update button in the Envdir Help page and follow the instructions (Envdir and Envtex updates are not compulsory if you are already up to date) or download the 1.0.6 patch available in your SimMarket account. Once the patch is installed, please reapply the shaders into your simulator by clicking "Install to sim" in Envdir. You can also refer to this file available in your SimMarket account: "Envshade - How to download and install.pdf" We wish you a happy holiday ! You will find the link to download the update when you log into your user account --> my orders --> respective order. Should you have any questions please contact us via http://support.simmarket.com For technical support please contact the support addresses listed in the documentation for the respective product. 6. Mettar Simulations Director, Matt Davies, opened up with the current situation of the projects under his management on Twitch yesterday. This includes projectFLY, the A380 and SimStall. He also spoke about his current involvement with POSCON (Positive Control Network). These statements left by Matt were also backed up via his latest blog post. Although Matt isn't everyone's "cup of tea", I personally like him and wish him well for the future, he mostly has good idea's, going forward I hope he sort's things out and comes back stronger than ever. 7. X-Plane is full of interesting projects and great ideas from the community. I think it is time to pay some respect to freeware projects that i know, are remarkable. One of these projects is truly outstanding and has been around for a long time. We are talking about Antarctica4XPlane. Anyone who has ever tried to fly to Antarctica in X-Plane will have noticed that there is nothing down there. That's right: Austin Meyer has done what the climatologists had long predicted - he recently let the South Pole melt. But a group of expedition enthusiasts and adventurers have done their best to bring the continent back from the depths of the ocean and started to build all the important research stations on it and finding the right airplanes to repaint them for science missions . The Project is leaded and initiated by Matthias Seewald alias Maps2XPlane, a specialist in geodata and Master of the XP Mesh. (You might know him from Krabi4XPlane where he helped to generate a better mesh) Since the beginning he connected many volunteers to work on this project. Those who have not experienced it yet, I recommend to try a trip into the eternal ice. To destinations most of us will never be able to get to in real life some modified pictures for storytelling purposes SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : https://maps2xplane.com/the-sceneries/antarctic-sceneries/ NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://imgur.com/gallery/lLW99
