  1. A very brief update from QualityWings Simulations was released today. After revealing the new features that would be making their way into the update for the 787, the team confirmed that development is almost complete and internal beta testing will start this weekend. The update for the Ultimate 787 Collection will include updated PBR textures, new features and some additional fixes based on community feedback. Further to that update, they also announced that most roadblocks for their Ultimate 757 Collection has been resolved and testing will also begin soon. In other 757-related news, Captain Sim released their Freighter expansion pack for $49.99 yesterday. 2. QualityWings Ultimate 146 Updated to v1.5 Over on their Facebook page, QualityWings Simulations has announced that they’ve pushed out a v1.5 update for their Ultimate 146 for FSX and Prepar3D v4. This update comes in response to a string of bugs, issues and inaccuracies reported on the QualityWings Simulations forum by customers. Version 1.5 brings along crash to desktop fixes, improved aircraft behaviour to bring it closer to its real-world counterpart, an issue where gear and flaps would occasionally not retract and more which you can view in the complete changelog towards the end of this article. Also, at the end of this article, you’ll find instructions for existing customers to update their product. If you don’t already own the QualityWings Simulations Ultimate 146, you can grab a hold of it on Flight1.com for a price of $19.95 (Incl. VAT) for Prepar3D v4 or for FSX/SE also on Flight1.com for the same price. 3. Fellow Loungers, I have just received an update from QualityWings via Facebook which contains a variety of updates on updates and other development work, this related to their Ultimate 146, 757 and 787 products. The most interesting for me personally is the introduction of PBR materials and a remote CDU (on your phone, tablet etc) for the 787 product, 'due soon' as part of the upcoming v1.1.3 update. == For those of you that are not on Facebook, the main updates by product are as follows: Ultimate 146 Following the release of the Ultimate 146 for Prepar3D Version 4, we received some unbelievably positive feedback and will be providing an update for the 146 in P3DV4 soon. Development work is complete for this update and it is currently undergoing final stages of testing. Ultimate 757 Around the time that we announced that that the 146 was being worked on for a release in P3DV4, we also indicated that the 757 was also in development for the platform. There was a bit more work than anticipated to make the product work in P3DV4, but we assure you that it is in the works. With that said, I must also acknowledge that we are aware of some of the difficulties being experienced by some of this product regarding the activation process. We do apologize for any inconvenience. We will be moving our current Ultimate 757 product from the Esellerate system and migrating the customer database to the Flight1 licensing system. That should alleviate some of the issues some of you may have been experiencing. Again, please bear with us as we work through this transition, which will coincide with the release of the product into P3DV4. Ultimate 787 As previously mentioned, we are continuing to improve the 787 and Update 1.1.3 is due soon. This update to the 787 includes some exciting new additions, one is a result of improved features available with the release of P3D Version 4.4: Physically Based Rendering The 787s models and textures have been adapted to take advantage of these exciting and impressive visual features. PBR is really exciting stuff, but it’s too bad that the 787 fuselage isn’t completely aluminum. Because it would sure be fun to see how that looks. But I guess we will have to wait for upcoming products in development that can really show off bare metal. We sill think it helps the 787 visuals tremendously. We highly encourage everyone to upgrade to the latest version of P3D to benefit from the improved visuals. PBR models will not be available for FSX and outdated versions of P3Dv4. == Plus, additional info via the FSElite page: In addition to PBR, the next version of the Ultimate 787 will bring support for Remote CDU on the lower MFD and the Electronic Flight Bag. Remote CDU will mean you can see any page from the lower display (including the FMS) on multiple mobile devices including Android tablets/phones, Apple products and even Windows tablets and phones. Finally, the team gave a brief list of other updates users can expect in the upcoming update: · Significant Stability Improvements · Autothrottle oscillations above Mach .85 · Improved Panel state loading · PFD Speedtape coffin corner simulation · And many more No timeline was given on when this update would be made available. 7. It’s been a few months since we last heard about the Ultimate 787 from QualityWings Simulations. However, today they’ve come out of that silence and posted a new image on their Facebook. The teaser image shows us two important things: Wind data looks to have been added The update, 1.1.2, is due out in September 2018. We already know that RealLight from TFDi Design is going to be included in the new update. We’re also hoping that the changes in the fuel loading will be present also! Hopefully soon, the team will provide more details on what users can expect from the update. 9. QualityWings Simulation Ultimate 787 Released for P3D V4 At long last, the QualityWings Simulation Ultimate 787 has been released for Prepar3D V4. With the highly successful release of the 787 for FSX, the QualityWings beta team has been hard at work testing this bird to get it ready for v4. With several new improvements on the model, EFB and performance, simmers will enjoy flying one of the most modern aircraft in the 64-bit sim. The Prepar3D V4 version comes with a huge feature set, and includes plenty of bug fixes and updates from the FSX version. This is based off months of feedback from the community. Both the 787-8 and the 787-9 will be included in the package, with the -10 variant coming soon. Not only have the aircraft been modelled visually in high quality, but also the unique characteristics of each plane has been created. This includes the the 787-9 HLFC system. Both aircraft include the 787 specific autodrag function, maneuver load alleviation, wing-flex and smooth animations. 11. QualityWings Q1 Status Update 01/04/18 By Thomas Haynes on 01/04/2018 QualityWings has today released their Quarter 1 status update for 2018! In a post on their Facebook page, the development team released a short update to let people know what’s going on with them. The announcement talks about their 787,757 and 146 aircraft. Ultimate 787 The work for Service Pack 1 is largely complete and we’re currently testing all changes/bugfixes along with the P3Dv4 version of the plane. We’re pursuing a simultaneous release of SP1 for FSX and the P3Dv4 version so that both variants are on the same status. The process of converting the plane to P3Dv4 has had some surprises for us and since many P3Dv4 specific features are new to us it has taken some time to develop and test the required techniques to create quality content. We are still working our way through ironing out some bugs that have been identified by our Beta team but are optimistic to be done with that relatively soon. The service pack takes care of many high priority items and introduces new functionality that we hope you appreciate. Within the next few weeks, we will provide a list of those items that we have addressed during this cycle to give you an idea of what to expect from the Service Pack. For the P3D version you can expect the following new features: TrueGlass rain effects (P3D only) Dynamic lighting (P3D only) High-resolution displays (P3D only) ND: Airport Map taxiway, runway and gate highlighting Config Page entry for PauseAtTOD and 1xAtTOD Panel state automatically saved whenever the user saves the flight in the FSX menu Support for key assignments for autopilot/autothrottle events Config option to set the location of Activesky Snapshot files Further functionality for the 787 will be introduced by means of a Product Improvement Package (PIP). We will share more information on that later this year. Ultimate 757 The 757 is currently undergoing beta testing in P3Dv4. The release will happen after the 787 has been released. Ultimate 146 We are currently not beta testing the 146 in order to be able to focus on the 787 and 757. It has, however, underwent all the rework that is required for P3Dv4 compatibility and is being tested internally. Once the Boeings are out of the door we will ship out the 146 to our Beta team and try to get that one released as soon as possible. 17. From Facebook: The User's Manual for the upcoming QualityWings 787 is currently being finalized, but a copy of this UNFINISHED manual is available for viewing in the Downloads/Documentation Section of our website. For those of you who would like to get an idea of what is going to be in this product for release, the content of this manual is pretty much what to expect for version 1. An additional FMS Supplement document which will detail the FMS pages along with a short tutorial is being worked on concurrently and will be made available once the User's Manual is finalized upon release of the QW787. We've tried to simplify the Users Manual experience in away that allows you to get the quickest answer to your question about how a particular panel works or what an indication might mean. So there are many clickable links within the document that will quickly take you to what you want to know.
