  1. Fellow Loungers, I have just received an update from QualityWings via Facebook which contains a variety of updates on updates and other development work, this related to their Ultimate 146, 757 and 787 products. The most interesting for me personally is the introduction of PBR materials and a remote CDU (on your phone, tablet etc) for the 787 product, 'due soon' as part of the upcoming v1.1.3 update. == For those of you that are not on Facebook, the main updates by product are as follows: Ultimate 146 Following the release of the Ultimate 146 for Prepar3D Version 4, we received some unbelievably positive feedback and will be providing an update for the 146 in P3DV4 soon. Development work is complete for this update and it is currently undergoing final stages of testing. Ultimate 757 Around the time that we announced that that the 146 was being worked on for a release in P3DV4, we also indicated that the 757 was also in development for the platform. There was a bit more work than anticipated to make the product work in P3DV4, but we assure you that it is in the works. With that said, I must also acknowledge that we are aware of some of the difficulties being experienced by some of this product regarding the activation process. We do apologize for any inconvenience. We will be moving our current Ultimate 757 product from the Esellerate system and migrating the customer database to the Flight1 licensing system. That should alleviate some of the issues some of you may have been experiencing. Again, please bear with us as we work through this transition, which will coincide with the release of the product into P3DV4. Ultimate 787 As previously mentioned, we are continuing to improve the 787 and Update 1.1.3 is due soon. This update to the 787 includes some exciting new additions, one is a result of improved features available with the release of P3D Version 4.4: Physically Based Rendering The 787s models and textures have been adapted to take advantage of these exciting and impressive visual features. PBR is really exciting stuff, but it’s too bad that the 787 fuselage isn’t completely aluminum. Because it would sure be fun to see how that looks. But I guess we will have to wait for upcoming products in development that can really show off bare metal. We sill think it helps the 787 visuals tremendously. We highly encourage everyone to upgrade to the latest version of P3D to benefit from the improved visuals. PBR models will not be available for FSX and outdated versions of P3Dv4. == Plus, additional info via the FSElite page: In addition to PBR, the next version of the Ultimate 787 will bring support for Remote CDU on the lower MFD and the Electronic Flight Bag. Remote CDU will mean you can see any page from the lower display (including the FMS) on multiple mobile devices including Android tablets/phones, Apple products and even Windows tablets and phones. Finally, the team gave a brief list of other updates users can expect in the upcoming update: · Significant Stability Improvements · Autothrottle oscillations above Mach .85 · Improved Panel state loading · PFD Speedtape coffin corner simulation · And many more No timeline was given on when this update would be made available. 2. X-Camera 2.3.2 Beta 1 is ready X-Camera 2.3.2 Beta 1 View this email in your browser Stick and Rudder Studios Delighting The FlightSim Community Dear X-Camera User, Thank you for supporting X-Camera. You are receiving this email because you indicated you were interested in beta programs and new releases of X-Camera. In a few weeks Stick and Rudder Studios will be offering our products on the X-Plane.org Store. In preparation for this event we needed to enhance some of our products to handle the license keys that will be generated by the store. X-Camera 2.3.2 has been enhanced to support these keys and to make it easier to enter and validate license keys using the traditional method of pasting your key in the UI and validating / activating the key. X-Camera 2.3.2 will continue to work with your existing keys and license.txt file and it will also continue to support those features that do not require a key. We would like to seek help from a few volunteers to test 2.3.2. We want to make sure that existing keys continue to work and that the new key paste and validate functions work across all three operating systems. Help from OSX / Linux users would be most helpful as well as from those of you running X-Camera on Windows. 2.3.2 also contains one minor bug fix associated with one of the quick look keys not working properly. This will be a very short beta period for X-Camera 2.3.2. If you would like to help us test it please visit the thread on X-Plane.org where you can download beta versions and report any problems. https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/160784-x-camera-232-beta/ Thank you for your continued support of X-Camera. If you would like to be removed from the Stick and Rudder Studios mailing list or update your subscription preferences you can do so using the links at the bottom of this email. 7. Not sure how I missed this one, Hans has published a pretty extensive changelog on what is expected from the latest update (tentative release of 1st or 2nd of March) to the CRJ product. While the CRJ took its sweet time to be developed, it would be fairly okay to assume that it was rushed out the door. However, constant updates from the developer means it is constantly improving. This sounds like a big one so it deserves to get some attention. From Aerosoft forum: Hello everyone! First, I'd like to apologize that it took so long. The simple reason is that we wanted to get it right this time! After the last beta was already OK'ed by them, I uploaded version 1.0.5 to the beta testers today. As long as I didn't mess up anything with this version (cross your fingers!), it will be sent to Aerosoft for installer building tomorrow. Depending on the schedule of the Aerosoft guys it should be available for public download on Thursday or Friday. Here's the readme so you can see what was fixed, changed or added: Aerosoft CRJ 700/900 Update 1.0.5 ================================= ******************************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************************* *** The 64-bit version of this update requires Lockheed Martin Prepar3D v4.2 or higher! 14. Airbus is Feature Ready! According to Mathijs Kok on the Aerosoft Forums, the Babybus 2018 Professional has been declared feature-ready. This means that all the features that they wanted to be implemented into the aircraft has been implemented. The next step is to take the product into beta to iron out any bugs, take suggestions, and improve the product before final release. A318 Now or A32X Later? Now, the Aerosoft team is debating if they want to delay the series or simply release the A318 right now. Unfortunately, they had developed all the features on the A318, which according to Mathijs was a bad decision. This means that it would take them time to shift everything over to the A320. Personally, I’d prefer the A318 right now, because it’s an aircraft that we don’t have in v4 yet. What are your thoughts? Would you like to see the A320 or A318 first? Let us know in the comments section!! Will it Compare with the FSLabs? Now the question is, with the earlier release and success of the FlightSimLabs A320 and the upcoming A319, how will Aerosoft’s product compare with FSLabs? Only time will tell, but from what I’m seeing, it looks really promising! You can read more about the Airbus Professional Series on Aerosoft’s forum here. 15. Stick and Rudder Studios Delighting The FlightSim Community Dear X-ATC-Chatter User, Thank you for supporting X-ATC-Chatter. You are receiving this email because you indicated you were interested in beta programs of X-ATC-Chatter. I want to inform you that X-ATC-Chatter standalone player beta build 4 is available. I want to apologize profusely for having to send out this notice so soon on the heels of the beta 3 announcement but a few users found a nasty bug that could cause X-ATC-Chatter beta 3 to crash X-Plane on start depending on the custom scenery libraries you had installed. X-ATC-Chatter beta 3 was not handling all the variations of apt.dat that it should have. Hopefully I have caught all the variations with Beta 4 but if you run into any problems please let me as soon as possible so I can fix them quickly. Beta 4 contains the following additions: Fix a crash on X-Plane start caused by X-ATC-Chatter not handling apt.dat formats properly. Note: This beta is for the stand-alone player only. The archive below does not contain any chatter clips and it is assumed you will use this with the clips previously purchased. This beta is also not for those customers who are using X-ATC-Chatter exclusively with Pilot2ATC as the stand alone player is not installed for that configuration. As soon as this new stand alone player has had some testing it will be included in the final release of X-ATC-Chatter 1.5.3 which will also include some additional clips. You can get the zip file for just the stand alone player from our website: https://www.stickandrudderstudios.com/downloads/X-ATC-Chatter_Player_1.5.3B4.zip I suggest that you make a backup copy of your X-ATC-Chatter directory should you need to revert back to X-ATC-Chatter 1.5.2. Simply unzip the X-ATC-Chatter_Player_1.5.3B4.zip file into a temporary directory and then copy the resulting X-ATC-Chatter directory over the top of your current X-ATC-Chatter directory in the X-Plane plugins directory, allowing your copy utility to over write / merge the old files. Your Regions folder and any X-ATC-Chatter settings will be preserved. The user guide included in the zip file has a release notes section that outlines the changes in 1.5.3 Beta 4. Those sections of the manual that discuss the new features have been updated. If you are an X-Life user and want to try the integration you will need to get access to the X-Life 2.1 public beta 7. http://jardesign.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=19234#p19234 If you run into any problems or have feedback please don't hesitate to contact me at: Support@StickandRudderStudios.com I'm not planning any additional features for X-ATC-Chatter 1.5.3. Once we have had some mileage on this beta and fix any reported bugs I'll be updating the main package and sending out an update for the full package. If you are in the volunteer program I would like to encourage you to submit any additional clips you have been working on so we can include them in the final version of X-ATC-Chatter 1.5.3. Finally, I would like to thank all of you for helping to create X-ATC-Chatter 1.5.3 and for your continued support of X-ATC-Chatter and the chatter project: https://www.stickandrudderstudios.com/x-atc-chatter-project/ LINK TO SOURCE: https://www.stickandrudderstudios.com/x-atc-chatter-project/

  17. Stick and Rudder Studios Delighting The FlightSim Community Dear X-Camera User, Thank you for supporting X-Camera. You are receiving this email because you had previously registered for X-Camera and we want you to know about the new version which has just been released. X-Camera 2.3.1 is complete and is now ready for download. 2.3.1 contains a number of new features as well as some bug fixes and overall improvements. You can review the change log in detail in the new User Guide. Here is a brief list of the changes: Fixed a number of UI anomalies when running under X-Plane 11 Introduced an option to enable / disable the ability to force the FOV on a camera. This was causing a lot of problems with Multi-Monitor setups and caused a great deal of confusion when trying to adjust the FOV in the X-Plane graphics settings. X-Camera windows binaries are now being built as Release versions cutting down their size but not affecting functionality. Add support for the ten extra quick look commands in X-Plane 11.1 Fixed a bug where the yoke visibility camera option was only being saved as a Boolean when it really needed to be saved as a tri-state value. Note you will need to correct any cameras and resave the camera file. Increased Joystick axis array size from 250 to 500 slots per the new size in X-Plane 11.10 Added view axis calibration and adjustable view axis null zone Fixed a bug where the default Field of View was not getting restored if you were on a camera that forced a field of view setting and then selected an X-Plane view while leaving X-Camera enabled Fixed bugs in View and Camera axis inputs Added View and Camera axis smoothing Fixed bug where camera axis input was only handling the first 100 axis assignments in X-Plane 11 when it needed to be 250 in X-Plane 11 Added next and previous view ID buttons to the main control panel Added Head Track Smoothing Option Fixed the help text for the command SRS/X-Camera/Select_Category_n to indicate that it selects the last active camera in the category not the first category Fixed a bug where the command SRS/X-Camera/Select_Next_View_ID would not evaluate all cameras and would miss cameras with view IDs assigned to them You can get the 2.3.1 zip file from our website: https://www.stickandrudderstudios.com/downloads/X-Camera_2.3.1.zip I suggest that you make a backup copy of your X-Camera directory should you need to revert back to X-Camera 2.3. Simply unzip the X-Camera_2.3.1.zip file into a temporary directory and then copy the resulting X-Camera directory over the top of your current X-Camera directory in the X-Plane plugins directory, allowing your copy utility to over write / merge the old files. Your license.txt and X-Camera settings will be preserved. If you are currently a 2.2.1 registered user your current 2.0 registration key will work with 2.2. If you run into any problems please don't hesitate to contact me at Support@StickandRudderStudios.com. Finally, I would like to thank all of you for your help in creating X-Camera and for your continued support. I encourage you to promote its use in various forums if you feel comfortable doing so. One thing you can do is go to the download page on X-Plane.org and click on a five star rating and take the time to write a review. It would be greatly appreciated. My goal is to get X-Camera on the first page of both the most popular and highest quality utility plugins. I know it is a lofty goal but why not aim for the stars. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=24209 If you would like to be removed from the Stick and Rudder Studios mailing list you can unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of this email. 19. Stick and Rudder Studios Delighting The FlightSim Community Dear X-Camera User, Thank you for supporting X-Camera. You are receiving this email because you indicated you were interested in beta programs and new releases of X-Camera. I want to inform you that X-Camera 2.3.1 beta build 4 is available. It contains the following additions: Fixed a number of UI anomalies when running under X-Plane11 Introduced an option to enable / disable the ability to force the FOV on a camera. This was causing a lot of problems with Multi-Monitor setups and caused a great deal of confusion when trying to adjust the FOV in the X-Plane graphics settings. Note: If you have camera definitions that force a particular horizontal field of view on a camera you will need to enable the aforementioned setting on the settings dialog. Please read the release notes about this change. You can get the zip file from our website: https://www.stickandrudderstudios.com/downloads/X-Camera_2.3.1B4.zip I suggest that you make a backup copy of your X-Camera directory should you need to revert back to X-Camera 2.3. Simply unzip the X-Camera_2.3.1B4.zip file into a temporary directory and then copy the resulting X-Camera directory over the top of your current X-Camera directory in the X-Plane plugins directory, allowing your copy utility to over write / merge the old files. Your license.txt and X-Camera settings will be preserved. The user guide included in the zip file has a release notes section that outlines the changes in 2.3.1 Beta 4. Those sections of the manual that discuss the new features have been updated but the tutorial videos have not been updated. Since 2.3.1 is a minor upgrade for X-Camera 2.0, 2.2.1, and 2.3 your existing license.txt file should work fine. If you run into any problems please don't hesitate to contact me at: Support@StickandRudderStudios.com Unless more bugs are found this will likely be the final beta build for 2.3.1. Please do not share the beta release or your license key with other people. If you have a friend that wants to be part of the beta program please have them contact me directly. This helps me control who is in the beta program so I can update them concerning information about bug fixes and new beta builds. Finally, I would like to thank all of you for your helping create X-Camera 2.3.1 and for your continued support of X-Camera. I encourage you to promote its use in various forums if you feel comfortable doing so.
