However today, the team teased a few new features for the upcoming service pack for the product. SP2 for ENVTEX will bring photorealistic cloud coverage, new sky textures, new contrail, contrail, water and weather effects. Furthermore, there will be brand new airport textures and a revised Envdir UI and more. Interestingly, the team have confirmed that you will be able to integrate ENVTEX’s new clouds with REX SkyForce 3D for some breath-taking effects. 9. by CALUM MARTIN on 18TH DECEMBER 2017 8 COMMENTS FSXNEWSP3D FACEBOOK TWITTER REDDIT Since the original announcement of REX’s most ambition weather and environmental system, Sky Force 3D all the way back in June 2016, it’s left us waiting this whole time for any further information. Now, REX’s silence is over. A brand new webpage is now online and plenty of evidence to suggest that it will be available before the end of the year. 10. Over on the REX Simulation Facebook page, the team posted a quick snippet detailing that their WX Advantage Radar is now ready for release on P3DV4. The weather radar designed to be used with any weather engine has been quite the challenge according to the developers, but the hard work has paid off and an update will be released later this week. Whilst no official announcement has been made, if you head to their store page right now, it does list that it is compatible with P3DV4.1. We can’t confirm it works ourselves, but if you have luck, please let us know in the comments below. As per other REX Products, we imagine this will be a free update. If you don’t already own it, you can buy the WX Advantage Radar from REX’s partner stores here. LINK TO SOURCE: https://fselite.net/news/week-rex-will-release-wx-advantage-radar-p3dv4/

  12. REX SKY FORCE – STATUS UPDATE: IN DEBUG PHASE 10/23/2017 – We posted a build to our team on Friday and we were hopeful for a near perfect build, but that was not the case. UGH! There is a list of about 15 fix items left. Thankfully, they are not complex items that will involve a lot of time. Our hopes are to get another build to the team by Wednesday at the latest. Some might be wondering why so long? Well, again there are A LOT of processes going on here. All things need to sync correctly for the best experience between cloud models, textures, and weather. Right now it is a matter of fine-tuning. We hope to have the website up for the product very soon – contingent on the status of the program. …Next update coming Monday, October 30th. 14. REX Latitude - End Of Life By rstough 09/26/2017 REX Latitude was a program developed by a developer outside of REX. Due to personal obligations, the developer was no longer able to support the program. In addition, as a part of our contractual agreement, REX was not supplied with the original code. Therefore, we will be shutting down REX Latitude by Friday, September 30th. It is not the policy of REX to shelf a program without providing some kind of replacement or update. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances, we will not be able to provide an alternative until sometime in 2018. Thank you all those who supported REX Latitude in the past. We look forward to providing a new alternative within the next several months. LINK TO SOURCE: https://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/announcement/24-rex-latitude-end-of-life/

  20. REX SOFT CLOUDS – SP 3 – HOTFIX 5: IN DEBUG PHASE 6/30/2017 – We are pleased to announce that REX Soft Clouds will be entering final testing starting on Monday of next week. Hotfix 5 will include support for Lockheed Martin’s Prepar3D v4. This does not include support for Dovetail’s Flight Sim World, in that an official SDK has not be released.
  21. PREPAR3D V4 – REX PRODUCT UPDATE: 6/28/2017 We have completed our investigation of our products to determine what is needed to get them compatible for Prepar3D v4. Several customers have stated that they have been able to get several products to work with P3Dv4 without a patch. However, we do not recommend this, in that it is clear from our internal tests that some features will not work. https://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/announcement/3-latest-update-on-support-for-p3dv4/ smurf_john v4 list been updated.
  22. Dear REX Customers and Flight Simmers - With the release of Laminar's Xplane 11, AeroFly 2, Dovetail's Flight Sim World, and the upcoming expected release of Lockheed Martin's P3Dv4 we felt it necessary to address REX's thoughts on each upcoming platform. These are exciting and somewhat scary times. Exciting in that we can remember some very dry times when only one platform was available. It is great to see such a resurgence in this genre. Scary in that many of us have invested not just $100's, but some of us $1000's of dollars into add-ons and hardware. So the question is "will what I have invested in, work in the future?" We are committed to providing support of these platforms as much as possible. Though our development team, as of right now, has been focused on finishing several new products, it is our goal to advance our technology further to try to give the best experience possible for the past as well as the new platforms. We have been in contact with each developer group and it is our goal to maintain a reasonable working relationship that goes well into the future. Each platform will offer its own unique challenges and we aim to try to meet those challenges by providing a greater sense of reality in the environment that surrounds us within the sim. Your investment is our investment. We will continue to strive to meet the need as they develop. Sincerely, The REX Management Team https://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?%2Ftopic%2F44983-rex-response-to-xp11-fsw-and-p3dv4%2F

  24. First off a very special thanks to lounger @Superthrive for the !firstclass upgrade on my LIVE SHOW that made this purchase possible. Milviz and REX Simulations partnered up to solve the difficult challenges related to a fully functional weather radar: combining a modernized airborne radar with sophisticated digital signal processing, resulting in a superior multi-functional hazardous weather detection and avoidance system. Here's how it went for me...I was flying around in the Alabeo Chieftain trying to land at ORBX KTEX Teluride when WX Advantage Radar was released. I was in some of the worst weather I think i'd ever seen in sim and the timing could not have been more perfect for release. (See below) I installed the WX Advantage Radar (WXA) right away. My intent was to do it fast and perhaps it was not the right approach. I quit the sim, and began the install process. I must say it was a chore to have to enter my serial number 2x, once in the REX downloader, and then again in the App installer, after I had closed my email. But I'm sure we can agree there are way more annoying anti-piracy measures out there with other devs... So this is where the annoyances really ramp up. Many of you may be using the ASN XGauge (XG) addon that you get free with Active Sky Next, if so you're used to the amazing way that it can add XGauge to ALL your aircraft in one single swoop if that's the way you want it to. Also it can be pulled up with a SHFT-# (more on this later). The way WXA handles installs is simply put, stupid. It presents you a list of ALL your installed aircraft, BY LIVERY. I sat here with my mouth open thinking, wow, this would be a beautiful way to browse my planes in P3D...but I really hope I don't have to install WXA one by one... YOU DO. You can click a specific livery, you cant select click, shift click, space click, click drag, double click, magic click any more than that one. There is no SELECT ALL button anywhere in sight. stupid. So I select my specific Navajo and move onto the next window. I love that you get options, options are good. One of the things that started to annoy me recently about XG is that it has started to open in some planes at FULL SCREEN, as if I was sitting down ready for some IMAX weather film. I resize it, go to fly another day, and it comes back full screen again... WXA lets you set the screen resolution AND it lets you drag the window on this panel to the exact size you want it to open to! Very very cool. Additionally you have options, visual options, Like it light or dark? clean or dirty? Do you, no one is judging... Once installed I decide to go live right away to show it to the world...without a restart of the system. Hey...the installer didn't recommend it, or force it. Lets talk about opening the radar...there is no command, just And every time you change an EZDOK view, it closes. GRRRRrRrRrR! But that's not all...3x in a row P3D was taken down mid stream, the only thing that had changed on my system was installing this add-on. A quick trip to the EVENT VIEWER proved my theory was right... MV_WX.dll What could that be? I figured I'd troubleshoot it another time, but I had to get the stream back online so I went down the uninstall process. It was really kind of them to at least auto-launch the configuration utility to edit the aircraft one by one. ONE BY ONE. Thank goodness I didn't do more than 2 eh?! Please REX/MILVIZ/RILVIZ/MILREX handle install/uninstall in bulk somehow. Thanks! After a chat with members on our Discord Server we came to the conclusion that because it was a .dll maybe a system reboot would have been wise. That said, stay tuned for part 2...the re-install.
