  1. Leonardo Softhouse FlythemaddogX MD-80 Series Development Update The team at Leonardo Softhouse has released a new development post highlighting the upcoming update to the MD-80 series. A huge part of that update is the inclusion of PBR texturing, as well as the expansion pack of the MD-83 and MD-88. The team has been working hard to ensure that they release an aircraft that takes advantage of the new technology found in P3D V4.4 and have successfully converted their external model of the ‘base’ MD-82 to take full advantage of the new PBR technique. As you can see from the below screenshots, the difference visually is striking to say the least. Equally, if it’s not something you want to use, then the load manager will enable you to turn it on / off with a mouse click. 2. SSG CRJ-Series for X-Plane 11 with new previews and it is looking good SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : https://www.facebook.com/groups/738947459790569/permalink/741115746240407/ NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://www.flightsim.news/2018/10/ssg-crj-series-xp11/
  3. FlyJSim Updates 727 Series Professional V3 SOURCE INFO Despite releasing an excellent aircraft last month, developers FlyJSim has updated their 727 Series Professional 3 with a range of fixes and general improvements for the user. The primary focus area of this update are on mach hold and tape movements, the leading edge flaps not deploying when using the alternate flap and visuals on the aft cargo door. Further to general fixes, the team have added a brand new maintenance system for the tires. If you’re a pilot that likes to land firm, you may need to rethink your style as if you land too hard or heavy, prepare to pop a tire or collapse your gear (and have a meeting with tea no biscuits with your manager). There’s a nice range of improvements in the free update from the team, so waste time no more and download the update to the plane we enjoyed very much. You will need to grab the Skunkcrafts updater to download and apply update 3.1809.1125 to your 727 Series Professional V3. Here’s the full change log courtesy of their Facebook post. https://fselite.net/news/flyjsim-updates-727-series-professional-v3/
  4. This is all sim related not just P3D. I recall on a previous show some of you had issues with PC Pilot. I found this digital version of the magazine about a year ago and have been a subscriber ever since. It may not be monthly, but I would say I get an issue at least every other month. I love reading it and there are some great series of articles as well as reviews and other stuff. I bring this to you attention for 2 series of articles that span many issues and in my opinion are worth the investment at 3.99 a back issue. The first is a series on airliner simulation. It starts with issue 111 through the issue of 117. 111: Airline Simulation, Part 1: The flight deck 112: Airline Simulation Part 2: Flight planning 113: Airline Simulation Part 3: Preparing at the gate 114: Airline Simulation Part 4: Pushing back 115: Airline Simulation Part 5: The take-off 116: Airline Simulation Part 6: Settling down in the cruise 117: Airline Simulation Part 7: Descent and landing preparation The second series starts with issue 106 and continues through the current issue of 119. 106: GA back to basics: The principles of flight 107: GA back to basics: Understanding trim controls 108: GA back to basics: Preflight and groundhandling procedures 109: GA back to basics: Angle of attack, balanced flight and using flaps 110: GA back to basics: Advanced skills -- stalls, steep turns, ... 111: GA back to basics: Landing techniques 112: GA back to basics: The circuit pattern 113: GA back to basics: More demanding manoeuvers 114: GA back to basics: When things don't go to plan 115: GA back to basics: Forced landings without power 116: GA back to basics: Getting through the checkride 117: GA back to basics: Visual Navigation 118: GA back to basics: Planning your flight 119: GA back to basics: Executing your flight plan I have not read 100% of these. I have read most of the Airline simulation and I am going back to read up all the GA articles. I have started GA, but want to revisit the entire series. I think this is a great magazine and wish there were more magazines that hit our market. You guys should support them so we don't loose a media source that is great. I can read them on my PC, ipad, and phone with the pocketmags app. Link below to the magazine. 6. Some great news from the il-2 chappies and chap'ets today about early access WW1 Flying Circus, Tank sim (cannot wait to get stuck into that) and also updates for the Operation BodenPlate with the addition of the FW190. Awesome stuff for monitors and trying the WW1 sim with the VR headset is gonna be intense as its already the best combat sim for VR with the WW2 theatres. 7. Aerosoft Airbus A318/319 Professional Series to Release In June Usually, the updates from Aerosoft regarding the Airbus Professional series contain some brand new screenshots or an update on development progress. However, what is usually missing is a timeframe of when we can expect the series of planes to be released. It’s been known for a while now that Aerosoft have a release system in mind once the first of the packs hit, but what wasn’t known is when the first of those would be released. Today, Mathijs confirmed that the release date for the Airbus A318/319 Professional series is due to be on June 26th. In his post on the Aerosoft forums, he describes how the meeting today was both full of good news and not so good news. The good news is that the propulsion system is progressing fine, with just smaller details now being worked on. Further good news is that there are some brand new voices for the checklist and smaller details like cockpit lighting is now complete. On the flip side, the MCDU, the FMS and AP still have some issues to resolve. Mathijs described the MCDU as “the most complex bit of code” that the team have ever done, so testing has been slower than expected. However, he did say that this will be the most advanced Airbus MCDU currently available in the sim. A new preview topic will be started this week with information on final pricing, updated box information, manuals and more. 8. A few minutes ago, developer SSG published a new update for their popular Boeing 747-8 Series, bringing this particular Queen of the Skies to version 1.81. See the changelog: Do note this is the final update the X-Plane 10 version of the aircraft is going to receive, according to the developer. The team also asks not to “use x-updater to update your B748 to the latest version, it will not work. Please enter in your store download area and then pick your version XP10, XP 11 or both. The SSG B748 don’t support the x-updater. actually, it is not compatible”. 9. Aerosoft’s Mathijs promised he would give some insight into his most recent project meeting about the A3XX Professional Series and today he has done just that. Whilst the major question of when will be released hasn’t been answered, what he did do was provide some clarity on the order and timelines he believes will take place once it has been released. Of course, with anything to do with release dates in the flight sim community, they are subject to change and fluctuation. It’s also worth noting that he mentioned that a ‘professional project’ will be happening for the team soon meaning it may throw some things off track a bit. The Timelines A318/A319 Professional 14 days in between A320/A321 Professional 5 weeks in between A318/A319 Professional & A320/A321 Profession Service Pack 1 This Service pack will replace the current PFD and ND with newer a version that are higher in resolution and designed to be used in 2D mode (the other gauges should already work in 2d mode at that time). Unknown period in between, but we guestimate something like 4 weeks. A330 Professional Unknown period in between A318/A319 Professional & A320/A321 Professional & A330 Professional Service Pack 2 Bringing together all the products to the same code and standard. Plus any learning from previous releases. Afterwards? Once Service Pack 2 has been released, the team will ‘most likely’ add more A330 models (engine types and hopefully other variants). As for the 32-bit version updates, no decision has been taken yet. Aerosoft are confident that the current models are fairly high in standard for their price range and that downloads in the 32-bit environment have gone down significantly lately. Details on bundle pricing will be announced next week. But to remind you of the pricing structure otherwise, you can read this snippet from the forum: LINK TO SOURCE: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/127623-aerosoft-a318a319a320a321a330-professional-preview-part-4/&page=75&tab=comments#comment-864196 / https://fselite.net/news/release-timeline-aerosoft-a3xx-professional-series-announced/
  10. Update 26 Jan 2017 @ 18:30z Lately, we have seen a lot of previews from the A320, but Aerosoft has now decided to share some previews of the A319 Professional. The smaller sibling of the A320 will pack the same features and detail as it’s bigger brother and include all of the new functions Aerosoft will include in their Professional line of Airbus aircraft. These previews come after Mathijs’ latest update on how progress is going. Furthermore, he today added that next week the team will begin porting over subsystems (like ELEC, BLEED, APU) from the A330 to the A320. The idea is that the logic behind these systems remains the same, but just need a different configuration file to get working correctly. He is fully confident that porting will be a smooth process and another step closer to the release of these aircraft. In general, the team are feeling great and are chasing down the bugs as and when they come up. LINK TO SOURCE: https://fselite.net/

  13. As per our previous posts, we’ve consolidated any new information we could find about the Aerosoft Airbus family into a single post for the month. We know we shared the A330 video the other day, but felt that was certainly worthy of a post of its own! Of course, there have been a few other snippets of information that has been released. Let us take a brief look. 2D Pop-Up displays confirmed! Despite many comments from Aerosoft saying they were redundant in the flight sim world due to their view system, multiple customers were desperate to get their fix of 2D Pop-Up displays. At long last, Aerosoft have given in and will be shipping their new Airbus series with said pop-ups. As you can see from the shot below, it works well already. Side note: It’s been acknowledged that the scale of the PFD needs fixing up – it is in beta after all.
