  6. Accu-sim Spitfire MkI-II (P3Dv4) Description The Supermarine Spitfire is one of the truly legendary aircraft, not just of World War II, but of all time. A brilliant design, the basic Spitfire wing and fuselage were able to be refined and improved over and over again into many different configurations during the course of World War II, and each excelled in its own right. The Spitfire was designed by R. J. Mitchell, an aeronautical engineer of stellar talent who had previously designed such aircraft as the Supermarine S6B, which won the Schneider Trophy in 1931. Borrowing from the developments of others, including the low-wing, monocoque design which came from the United States, Mitchell crafted a superb basic design which stands to this day as one of the greatest piston fighters in aviation history. Mitchell envisioned a light, maneuverable craft with low drag, elliptical wings, and a broad performance envelope. The result was the Spitfire, a capable, lethal, yet forgiving aircraft that ultimately proved more than equal to anything the Germans could throw at it, including the vaunted Focke-Wulf 190. The Spitfire had a number of design characteristics which set it apart from other contemporary fighter aircraft. The Merlin engine, the elliptical wing, the well-harmonized controls, and the versatile wing platform all worked together to create a package that was perhaps unmatched in terms of its immediate effectiveness and its potential to be developed further. Unlike the Japanese Zero, which was obsolete by 1943, the Spitfire was just coming to its prime. Chief among the features that set the Spit apart from other aircraft was its wing, which served multiple purposes. The elliptical planform and relatively broad root chord allowed a thinner airfoil section, reducing drag while preserving lift, which led to a very low wing loading. This increased top speed, preserved a low stalling speed, increased the service ceiling, and provided excellent low-speed agility. But the broad wing chord also allowed the convenient fitting of formidable armament such as multiple 20mm cannon and heavy machine guns. https://a2asimulations.com/product/accu-sim-spitfire-mki-ii-p3dv4/ NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK :

  8. FSElite Exclusive: New Flight Sim Labs A319 Preview Shots No doubt one of the most anticipated aircraft releases coming this year, the Flight Sim Labs A319 has been in the works for a while now. In this time, Flight Sim Labs had been teasing on their forums that we would be seeing some new and exciting features accompany the aircraft that were not present on the A320. We got a first glimpse of one of these new features last week when FlightSimLabs showed off the new and groundbreaking icing feature that would be debuting on the A319. 9. After CaptainSims release of their Boeing 757 and some news about an incoming update back in February, everything went incredibly quiet around this much anticipated project. 10. I have been using FSX and FSX:SE for many happy years. The time has come for me to consider moving sim. I am still deciding between P3D and XP (now FSW has been consigned to the bin). Before I take the plunge and start spending any hard cash, I have recently started using the free trial of X-Plane 11 (v11.10). But I am facing a lot of problems including: weaving on take off roll and after landing - due to poor traction? Incorrect sensitivity of rudder? This is affecting the default 737 and was even worse in the tail dragger tutorial which was almost impossible to get airborne. I am using a Saitek X45 but have no rudder pedals. I use the rudder switches on the throttle which are normally fine in FSX:SE. How do I find all the keyboard assignments; I can only find a small list of key commands via the menu. I turned off the C172 engine by hitting F7 thinking I’d get a notch of flaps during my landing tutorial! how do I change the views? This might be helped by keyboard commands in 2 above but I don’t want to randomly hit keys now in case I do anything else to the aircraft midair! Many thanks for the help in advance TSL crew! I know these are really basic questions but it would really help me start to ‘fly the plane’ instead of ‘operate the sim interface’!! SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK :

  12. Flight Sim World Free Mission Packs With the upcoming closure of Flight Sim World on May 24th, developer Dovetail Games has made the announcement that the mission packs they had created for FSW so far, will now be available for free. There are a total of three mission packs, respectively named ‘Epic Approaches’, ‘The Last Frontier’ and the ‘Spanish Job’. The mission packs can be downloaded from the Flight Sim World Steam Store page. It’s good to add that not only these mission packs are now available for free, there are also a lot of price drops from other developers active until the product will be closed on aforementioned date. Flight Sim World and purchased addons will remain in your Steam Library, but you will not be able to purchase the sim or new addons any longer after then. 15. Skyline Sim Chicago O’Hare, Cincinnati International, and Long Beach Preview Mega Post The last time we shared any previews of any of Skyline Sim’s upcoming projects was earlier this month, and January before that. In that time, I’ll admit we did miss large number of previews from Skyline of Cincinnati International, Chicago O’Hare, as well as Long Beach, and I do apologize for that. Earlier today, Skyline showed off more previews of their upcoming Cincinnati International scenery, and I thought it’d be a perfect time to compile all of the previews Skyline has shared over the past few months that went uncovered by us! Do note that this is a mix of screenshots as recent as today but dating back to February, and are all of course work-in-progress with some things having been reworked and/or changed since they were shared. Enjoy! SOURCE INFO https://www.facebook.com/skyline.simulations/ https://fselite.net/previews/skyline-sim-chicago-o-hare-cincinnati-international-long-beach-preview-mega-post/
  16. RIP Flight Sim World: Closure Announcement APRIL 23 - DTG CRYSS It is with great sadness that we announce the future closure of Flight Sim World. As you know, we always had a strong ambition to bring a new experience into the established world of flight simulation, one that deliberately overhauled both the flying experience and the graphical fidelity, offering new ways to fly. Unfortunately, after many detailed discussions, we regrettably don’t see a clear direction that will allow us to keep to the development time we’d want, alongside the player numbers we need. So, slightly before a year since we first launched into Early Access, we have made the intensely difficult decision to fully scale back all future development on Flight Sim World and remove it from sale on 24th May. We’re sure you have lots of questions, we hope we’ve answered a few here. FAQ What happens to Flight Sim World if I already own it? It will remain in your Steam library, available to play in its current format. Will the sim be taken off sale? Yes, and we’re working to the date of 24th May 2018. We want to give anyone who does not yet own a copy of the sim enough time to get a copy and keep it safe in their library for future play. What will happen to any Add-Ons? Add-Ons will also come off sale, but those you already own will still also be in your Steam library. We hope you can give the team the respect they deserve for their tireless hard work to date. Please know that all of us here at Dovetail hold flight simulation, the creators of add-on content, and especially you, the community for this sim, in incredibly high regard for both your support and time with Flight Sim World. - The Flight Sim World Team SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : https://steamcommunity.com/games/389280/announcements/detail/3400657079148405506 NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK :
  17. Skyline Sim Chicago O’Hare for X-Plane Previews It’s been a busy couple of days for previews of upcoming Chicago O’Hare sceneries, with both Drzewiecki Design and FSDreamTeam having shown off previews yesterday. Now it’s Skyline Sim’s turn, and this time for X-Plane! For those wondering if it will be compatible with Drzeweicki Design’s upcoming Chicago City X scenery, we have some good news for you; it will be! In addition to this, the control tower will feature a spinning radar on top of it and various landmarks such as the AllState arena near the approaches will indeed be modelled for VFR approach aids. Sadly, that was all for now but it will be very nice to have a detailed rendition of O’Hare in X-Plane relatively soon! 20. Dovetail Games Releases The Spanish Job Mission Pack For Flight Sim World Dovetail Games has released The Spanish Job Mission Pack add-on for Flight Sim World (FSW). The add-on mission tasks pilots with delivering a Piper PA-46 Malibu Mirage from Cardiff to Madrid for an ‘important customer’. Along the way, pilots will be required to complete a series of tasks that are all related to the main mission while obeying all ATC instructions and navigating busy airspace around Dublin airport. The mission pack requires the base game Flight Sim World and can be purchased for $10.14 CDN on the Steam store. 21. LET’S SIM IS CLOSING DOWN – AND THAT SUCKS Let’s Sim was one of those new projects that you never know what’s putting on the table until they do. I had the pleasure of watching Dave White bring it up from nothing. And now I have the terrible sight of him closing it down. His reasons are perfectly valid. When you get to a point where you are losing money, you sometimes need to stop the bleed. On some projects, you can go on. On other projects – especially ones where more than one person is involved – that’s harder. Usually impossible. Dave came up with a way to protect the authors’ work and brought some very interesting features such as their 360 preview. That was something that really impressed me but, at the same time, it was nothing that I wasn’t expecting from Dave. He’s just like that: always wanting to push things forth and making it all better. I am deeply sorry to see Let’s Sim disappear. It was a shock to me and I am sure it wasn’t an easy decision for Dave. Not easy at all. It’s a huge loss to the community and I just hope we don’t lose more. We are a community, moved by a passion that we all share and cherish. I hope we keep on, united. To Dave: hang in there, buddy. You know how to reach me if needed. You’ve shown us that there are other ways, cooler ways, to do things and that we should not settle with how things have always been done. Thank you. For everything. Read their announcement here. Note: this post was made together with FlightDeckX and FSElite in solidarity with Dave and the Let’s Sim Team. A community should stick together. Always. That’s what we defend. by Sérgio Costa on March 23, 2018 SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://www.helisimmer.com/news/lets-sim-is-closing-down-and-that-sucks/
  22. Flight Sim Development Group Previews Upcoming Pilots of the Caribbean Project Flight Sim Development Group (FSDG) has previewed some shots of their upcoming Pilots of the Caribbean project on their Facebook page. First up in the series appears to be the island of St. Vincent. While details are scarce, the shots show some amazing photos of both Argyle International Airport (TVSA) and the surrounding island. A post on the developers forum promises something “very soon”, and comments on the Facebook post are equally scant in details. In the meantime, enjoy some amazing shots of FSDG’s upcoming St. Vincent scenery. 23. Flight Sim Labs A320-X Update Due This Week FSLabs are back at the development table continuing to improve their A320-X. Whilst the most recent update provided a huge list of changes and fixes, there was still work for the team to do to make the A320-X even better. More excitingly, the update appears to be right around the corner.
