  9. Mettar Simulations Director, Matt Davies, opened up with the current situation of the projects under his management on Twitch yesterday. This includes projectFLY, the A380 and SimStall. He also spoke about his current involvement with POSCON (Positive Control Network). These statements left by Matt were also backed up via his latest blog post. Although Matt isn't everyone's "cup of tea", I personally like him and wish him well for the future, he mostly has good idea's, going forward I hope he sort's things out and comes back stronger than ever. 12. Mettar Simulations Release Development Update #7 After a crazy few weeks, Matt Davies has posted development update #7 over on the Mettar Simulations blog. This update is sure to hype us up with some enticing information and screenshots we’ve all been longingly awaiting. Matt says that his team have been focusing on every single project at the same time and its been working surprisingly well. The idea is for every project to interact with one another whilst remaining completely independent, he’s included a breakdown of each product and how they interact with one another that you can check out over on the blog post. POSCON has reached a development stage where it will soon be opened to their testing team which you can be part of. They’re still sorting out bugs and improving services across the board where they’ll be opening up POSCON during weekends for “open beta waves”. These waves will focus on different areas of POSCON each weekend and will allow them to properly test the network. The second most common question about POSCON is about the voice codec/quality. Take a listen to the audio clip below which demonstrates POSCON’s voice capabilities. 13. Skyline Simulations Announce Dash 8 200 & 300 Skyline Simulations has today announced, via their Facebook page, that they’re currently working on a couple of the often forgotten models of the Dash 8 family for X-Plane. The developer, primarily known for their scenery products, used the announcement to show off some early renders of the Dash 8 200 and 300 models that are currently being worked on, while also outlining their intentions for the project. In the post, Skyline Sim stated that they intend to produce a “study level” simulation of the aircraft with “accurate flight dynamics and systems simulation”. This includes the UNS-1 Universal FMS System that the real-world aircraft is equipped with. This should hopefully come as welcome news to X-Plane users and fans of the Dash 8, who have been crying out for an overhaul of FlyJSim’s Q400 for quite some time. Additionally, the developers promise an accurate and true 3D model which they say “will be extremely faithful to the real aircraft and will be impeccably detailed at a standard the XPlane [sic] community has come to expect from developers”. While this may sound like it’s going to take up a large amount of the developers’ time, they do assure their fans that their current scenery projects are not being delayed as a result, and work continues on projects such as KORD and an upcoming CVG update. The only question that comes to mind with this announcement is if Skyline Sim are producing the Q200/Q300 models, or their earlier, non-ANVS brothers. Without doubt, the X-Plane community will be watching this project very closely, as will FSElite. We hope to see work continue on this project and will aim to bring you updates as they’re made available. For now, check out the renders below. 15. Over on their Facebook page, A2A Simulations announced that their upcoming Accu-Sim V-Tail Bonanza is “on short final…”. Included with this little teaser was a single preview of the V-Tail coming into land. That’s all that was shared for now, though it was hinted at by A2A that they’ve implemented a form of rain visualization into the Bonanza; time will tell whether that turns out to be factual or simply a tease for what’s to come. 16. The Stearman (Boeing) Model 75 is a biplane formerly used as a military trainer aircraft, of which at least 10,626 were built in the United States during the 1930s and 1940s. Stearman Aircraft became a subsidiary of Boeing in 1934. Widely known as the Stearman, Boeing Stearman or Kaydet, it served as a primary trainer for the United States Army Air Forces, the United States Navy (as the NS & N2S), and with the Royal Canadian Air Force as the Kaydet throughout World War II. After the conflict was over, thousands of surplus aircraft were sold on the civilian market. In the immediate post-war years they became popular as crop dusters, sports planes, and for aerobatic and wing-walking use in air shows. Our representation of this iconic aircraft is fully animated with tooltips active in the VC cockpit for all animated parts. It is fully compatible with all versions of FSX and P3D. 17. While it’s certainly been a while since we last reported on a Mettar Simulations Dev update, mainly due to the fact that each one was, essentially, talking about the same thing with little for us to actually talk about. Today, we’re excited to report that Mettar Sim has posted Dev update #6 that’s packed with information including a render of the upcoming A380! First up is projectFLY. projectFLY has seen the formation of a Focus Group, which is pretty much a team that brainstorms the future of the project and report bugs to the development team while testing prerelease candidates. Two new updates have been released for the app since the last dev update, and major work has been undertaken on the X-Plane Plugin to make it more accurate and reliable. MacOS and Linux support is on the horizon with just a few last minute items to iron out, and the dispatcher is taking longer than anticipated but work is well underway. Continuing on with projectFLY coverage, contracts have been added to the app. Contracts allow the users to outsource their aircraft to another pilot based on a bidding system. The user can specify the departure and arrival airports, the aircraft, as well as the flight number/callsign when creating a contract. Once another user has won the bid, they will fly the aircraft from its intended departure onto its destination. This sounds mightily similar to PMDG’s upcoming Global Flight Operations, so it should be interesting to see how popular it is. The team’s recently announced acquisition of POSCON development has yielded some significant developments in the core architecture. The network will be featuring a 10hz refresh rate, which allows for increased fluidity of the network, and no more stuttering of flying aircraft you commonly see on Vatsim today. A nice image showing off the high refresh rate, and what it allows, for can be found below. Simstall continues to be in development, and the same goes for the A380, although a preview render of the external was provided, which can be found below. That’s all for now, and we’ll continue to keep you updated on any new pieces of information just as soon as we have them! 18. Originally for the ill-fated Flight Sim World, the Blue Sky FS Spitfire Mk. XIV was a great little aircraft in the sim when Shane gave it a first look. Since the closure of FSW, the team at Blue Sky FS have been busy porting over the aircraft to P3Dv4. One of the biggest challenges for the team were convering the PBR rendered textures of FSW into non-PBR rendered (although that may not be the case for very long). As you can see from the shots below, the team have done a good job at conveying the realistic look with the current limites of P3Dv4. In addition to texturing, some animation errors need fixing and flight modelling needs some work on. What’s very cool is that the team at Blue Sky FS will (hopefully) be streaming parts of the development process so you can see how the magic happens. Right now, their plan is to release by the end of September and are also in talks with multiple publishing partners to release the aircraft to. This is in addition to their own self-publishing website. SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://fselite.net/news/blue-sky-flight-simulations-spitfire-mk-xiv-update/

  22. You remember in 2015, Earth Simulation went out of business. They were proposing a bunch of content for the flight simmer like the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands. and some photorealistic sceneries like Scotland and other parts of UK if not mistaken ; well they even had some great trees addons at the time... Well Full Terrain X OrbX has purchased the rights to those sceneries just a few hours ago ! So what to be expected ? Some new types of photoreal sceneries again ?
