For example a LRN (Long Range Navigation) light now indicates GPS course capture on the NAV mode button as in the real a/c. A FNL (Final) light indicates when your setup for approach and under 1000 AGL. Improved Flight Director response time when the Flight Director is deselected (removed delay when FD arms retract.) Updated landing and taxi lights. Landing lights now better illuminate the runway starting from a height of about 100ft as viewed from the cockpit. Combined the Altitude Alerter and Altimeter gauges as will be required by the FAA starting in 2020. Updated cockpit lighting to improve visibility of switches, etc. Updated electrical system with more accurate voltages and to better simulate HSI and Altimeter gauges dependency on electrical power. 7. X-Plane: Free TBM 900 v1.1.4 Update From X-Aviation TBM 900 v1.1.4 Free Update! View this email in your browser HotStart TBM 900 v1.1.4 Update! Ready for download now... Hello RedNeck, X-Aviation and HotStart are proud to announce the release of the TBM 900 v1.1.4 update. Here's what's changed in version 1.1.4: Added HUD circuit breaker. Deepened manipulators and fixed cabin pressure manipulator. Fuel indicator lines were misrendered and showing too low to the actual tank state. Fuel gauge lines should use a gradianted pattern, instead of a flat color. Added GPU exhaust particle effect. Added remap from X-Plane's TOGA_power to trigger our takeoff guidance and kill X-Plane's tendency to give full power as if we had A/THR. Added propeller tip vortices at high power and high humidity. Added FUEL SEL AUTO checklist item into the engine start checklist. Removed superflous AUX BP AUTO checklist item from the after start checklist. Implemented new airspeed and altitude tapes with better annunciator mode management. Implemented custom VS tape. Changed G1000 fuel units to gallons - should now show correct units in FPL fuel predictions. Fixed broken AP/TRIMS disconnect and AP off buttons in XP11.30. Switched to using tags for version IDs for more readable version strings. Use XPLMNavRef to avoid airports with inconsistent ICAOs in the X-Plane nav database confusing us. Implemented maximum climb torque and optimum cruise torque marks on the torque gauge. Squashed more marching ants. Added directly settable datarefs for all switches, so integration with external controllers and cockpits is simpler. Added direct set commands for all toggle controls to simplify integration for cockpit builders. Fixed broken alternate static port manipulator. Implemented DIMMER light switch on the overhead. Fixed missing approach pathways on ILS approaches. Adjusted rear seats so armrests are touching. Adjusted manipulators to reflect armrest changes. Fixed Nav/Strobe lights to be closer to the real thing. Chocks were sometimes misaligned. Added a vertical deflection dataref to align chocks to landing gear. EDM should be using the GASC-computed cabin altitude, not true cabin altitude. Bad fx_lin_multi field array could cause an assertion failure. Obstacle database was broken because FAA had switched to HTTPs and we weren't expecting that. XP11.30 reordered how the airport loading message is sent at start, leading to a double aircraft system init/deinit on aircraft reload via the Developer menu. Indicated airspeed computation was affected by pitot covers, yielding broken behavior for engine driftdown in windy conditions. Documented all custom switch datarefs + commands for cockpit builders. Can be found under Documentation/DataRefs+Commands.txt. Cockpit manipulator on MFD keypad for digit 0 has incorrect command assigned Fixed TerraMax license conflict causing TerraMax to sometimes deactivate momentarily. Fixed misaligned LOC with runway centerline. Added manual vertical realignment of GS transmitters with actual sim terrain elevation. As always, thanks for purchasing from X-Aviation! We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you more in the future! Blue Skies, X-Aviation.com SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK :
  8. DC Design Give Brief Update on Farnborough One of the UK's most important airport locations. We introduced you to DC Design a few weeks ago. This new developer’s first project is the UK airport Farnborough. Since then, the team has kept people informed with development. This week, the team has worked on ensuring it colour matches as closely as possible with Orbx EU England, with all roads and buildings blending in nicely. Once this is done, DC Design will work on seasonal textures and ensuring that textures replace the satellite imagery as best as possible. As the airport has a huge number of buildings in the surrounding area, DC Design has decided to make sure that a fairly large area is covered by the product. Whilst it may add additional work, the team are confident that it will enhance the product and make it much more immersive for the community. A single screenshot of the area was shown off, but a few weeks prior, an additional preview of the control tower was shared. We’ve included both below. 12. Fellow Loungers, I have just received an update from QualityWings via Facebook which contains a variety of updates on updates and other development work, this related to their Ultimate 146, 757 and 787 products. The most interesting for me personally is the introduction of PBR materials and a remote CDU (on your phone, tablet etc) for the 787 product, 'due soon' as part of the upcoming v1.1.3 update. == For those of you that are not on Facebook, the main updates by product are as follows: Ultimate 146 Following the release of the Ultimate 146 for Prepar3D Version 4, we received some unbelievably positive feedback and will be providing an update for the 146 in P3DV4 soon. Development work is complete for this update and it is currently undergoing final stages of testing. Ultimate 757 Around the time that we announced that that the 146 was being worked on for a release in P3DV4, we also indicated that the 757 was also in development for the platform. There was a bit more work than anticipated to make the product work in P3DV4, but we assure you that it is in the works. With that said, I must also acknowledge that we are aware of some of the difficulties being experienced by some of this product regarding the activation process. We do apologize for any inconvenience. We will be moving our current Ultimate 757 product from the Esellerate system and migrating the customer database to the Flight1 licensing system. That should alleviate some of the issues some of you may have been experiencing. Again, please bear with us as we work through this transition, which will coincide with the release of the product into P3DV4. Ultimate 787 As previously mentioned, we are continuing to improve the 787 and Update 1.1.3 is due soon. This update to the 787 includes some exciting new additions, one is a result of improved features available with the release of P3D Version 4.4: Physically Based Rendering The 787s models and textures have been adapted to take advantage of these exciting and impressive visual features. PBR is really exciting stuff, but it’s too bad that the 787 fuselage isn’t completely aluminum. Because it would sure be fun to see how that looks. But I guess we will have to wait for upcoming products in development that can really show off bare metal. We sill think it helps the 787 visuals tremendously. We highly encourage everyone to upgrade to the latest version of P3D to benefit from the improved visuals. PBR models will not be available for FSX and outdated versions of P3Dv4. == Plus, additional info via the FSElite page: In addition to PBR, the next version of the Ultimate 787 will bring support for Remote CDU on the lower MFD and the Electronic Flight Bag. Remote CDU will mean you can see any page from the lower display (including the FMS) on multiple mobile devices including Android tablets/phones, Apple products and even Windows tablets and phones. Finally, the team gave a brief list of other updates users can expect in the upcoming update: · Significant Stability Improvements · Autothrottle oscillations above Mach .85 · Improved Panel state loading · PFD Speedtape coffin corner simulation · And many more No timeline was given on when this update would be made available. 14. With 2019 being a new year, Majestic Software decided to give us an update on their projects for this year, including both the Q400 Training Edition and their upcoming Q300 v2 First up is the long-awaited, and seemingly longer delayed, Q400 Training Edition. It was said that while they had been relatively quiet, they have been extremely busy behind the scenes working to finish up the Q400 Training. Touchscreen functionality for the main and index panels is done, as well as macros allowing users to spin knobs on the touchscreens. Majestic stated that while they’re indeed close to the finish line with the project, they’re not quite there yet, with the FDR aspect still needing completion. Up next was a statement on recent P3D technology such as rain effects, dynamic lighting, as well as PBR. While Majestic has been inundated with questions regarding their plans for implementing such features, they have not yet made a firm decision on their plan moving forward. Their modeler has been tasked with looking into the feasibility of implementing these features, and more information will be available once a decision has been made. The Q300 v2, the elephant in the room in a way, was up last. 2019 is the year that Majestic plans on going ‘full force’ with the Q30 v2, and this will happen upon completion of the Q400 Training Edition. Majestic went on to say that they will be giving updates when there is, “substantial information to share”, but the project is certainly not dead as some have seemingly concluded. That concludes the update from Majestic, and we scoured the comments for any additional information. All we were able to find is that there are no plans to bring the Q400 to X-Plane, as it’s unfeasible with a Q400 already being available and with one more on the way. We’ll continue to keep you posted on any new developments from both the Q400 Training Edition and Q300 v2 projects. 18. 1 of 5,948 UPDATE: TOGA PROJECTS - ENVSHADE P3D Dear simMarket Customer, at http://www.simmarket.com you can now find an update of your product: TOGA PROJECTS - ENVSHADE P3D (Envshade_patch_1.0.6.exe) Dear Envshade user, We're glad to announce that our last update of the year is now available for Envshade. This update finally brings the directional clouds lighting tweak we are working on for several months ! While the native directional clouds lighting was still available in others well known shader programs, it was only made compatible with the other tweaks. We didn't stop there: Envshade changes completely the way directional clouds lighting is working to get a realistic feeling round the clock: clouds now receive light depending on their relative position to the sun (and the moon during night time) and of course Envshade also dynamically manages this effect depending on the time of day. And if you think this is PBR compatible, you are totally right ! Full Changelog: - Directional cumulus clouds lighting added (for P3D v4.3 and higher) - Cloud shadows reworked - Cirrus clouds lighting readjusted depending on day-time To update your product, please simply click the update button in the Envdir Help page and follow the instructions (Envdir and Envtex updates are not compulsory if you are already up to date) or download the 1.0.6 patch available in your SimMarket account. Once the patch is installed, please reapply the shaders into your simulator by clicking "Install to sim" in Envdir. You can also refer to this file available in your SimMarket account: "Envshade - How to download and install.pdf" We wish you a happy holiday ! 19. We exclusively revealed that LatinVFR would be updating their Santiago SCEL v2 airport to include PBR textures a few weeks ago. We can now confirm that the update is live on stores for users to download and enjoy the new update, free of charge. As mentioned, the new update primarily focuses on the introduction of PBR textures throughout the airport and terminal objects. Whilst the team would of liked to have achieved a 100% PBR texture conversion rate, thing such as the photoreal scenery, trees or fences have yet to be done. However, LatinVFR do hope to make it 100% in the future. The more the team learn and develop, the more they can add and improve in the future. The update itself includes PBR on all buildings and ground polygons, animated ramp agents and additional 3D VORs which were previously missing. There are some other small fixes too which have made their way into v2.2. If you want to see how PBR impacts the product, you can see our previous post which highlights the significant changes. If you’re keen to install the update, you just need to run the new installer over the original install and it’ll do the magic on your behalf. You can find out full details regarding the update on the LatinVFR forums. If you don’t own Santiago SCEL v2 already, you can buy it via simMarket for EUR 22.00. Full change log (v2.2) PBR compatibility on all buildings and all ground polygons. Added animated ramp agents. Work of Jonathan Blanco. Added the two 3D VOR’s which were missing Fixed some apron parking issues. Added REIL lights to the runways. Among other small fixes. 25. Development Update: Just Flight & Just Trains - December 2018 So where did that year go? Seems only a matter of weeks since we released our first add-ons of the year back in January. We hope you've enjoyed the content that the Just Flight and Just Trains teams have brought you this year, there has been the usual varied mix of new add-ons from Just Flight, perhaps less so from Just Trains but that's something we're aiming to remedy in 2019. All the products released in 2018 can be found in the Latest Releases sections, here for Just Flight and here for Just Trains. Please read on for the very latest from the two development camps... It’s been a busy end to 2018 for the Just Flight development team. In the past few months we have released the PA-28-181 Archer III, Duchess Model 76 and the Avro Vulcan B Mk. 2 for FSX and P3D, and those products continue to receive regular updates in response to your feedback and to add even greater functionality. Following the release of P3D v4.4 a few weeks ago, we are currently working on a Physically Based Rendering (PBR) upgrade for the Vulcan, bringing the aircraft up to the very latest visual standards offered by the simulator, and we will have more news on that early next year. Looking ahead to 2019, the team are working on a variety of new products for FSX/P3D and X-Plane 11. There will be plenty of variety for FSX/P3D users with the Tornado F3, the next generation of our VFR Real Scenery and some classic airliners currently in development. Our popular Traffic Global product will also be coming out of early access. The PA-28-181 Archer III and Duchess Model 76 will be coming to X-Plane 11 in the new year, and we will be releasing significant updates for our existing aircraft range to bring them up to the latest XP11.30 standards. We'd like to thank you for your continued interest, support and custom and we sincerely hope you'll enjoy all that we have in store for you in 2019. Here's an update on some of the products we're currently working on. VFR REAL SCENERY NEXGEN 3D The first volume – Southern England & South Wales – is in final testing at the moment and the other three volumes are nearing completion. We are estimating release in early January. Feedback from our testers has been very positive. The latest version of P3D (Version 4.4) features improvements to the way photo textures are handled and VFRRS NexGen now looks even more impressive in 4.4. As a reminder, existing owners of any of our VFR Real Scenery downloads (or disc versions purchased from us) will be entitled to a significant discount on the NexGen series. VFR Real Scenery NexGen 3D TORNADO F3 Soon to be added to Just Flight’s already impressive hangar of military aircraft, Tornado F3 development continues at a pace – new HUD, Head-Down-Display, RHWR, weapons management, navigator TV displays, communication and night lighting systems are in place, and the high quality aircraft model is entering its final stages. Tornado F3 VC10 PROFESSIONAL Following on from the release of VC10 Jetliner, we have been busy upgrading the aircraft to our ‘Professional’ level with fully functional systems, including custom-coded electrical, fuel, hydraulic and pressurisation systems. The navigation capabilities will also receive an upgrade with a brand-new INS unit fitted to the navigator station. In addition to the systems upgrade, we are working on new Super VC10 and RAF (C1K, K3 and K4) variants which will feature a variety of animations including refuelling equipment and main-deck cargo doors, as well as cockpit modifications. We are in the latter stages of the systems coding and work is well underway on the new variants, so keep an eye on the In Development section for the first set of images! SUD AVIATION CARAVELLE III The Caravelle development team are hard at work modelling and texturing the remaining areas of the cockpit following a research trip to photograph a real-world Caravelle simulator in Germany. It is always challenging to collate the extensive reference material that is needed to accurately reproduce classic aircraft such as the Caravelle, and these research trips provide us with the opportunity to explore every corner and peek inside every hatch of the real aircraft. With the modelling work drawing to a close in the new year, our coders will soon begin the process of bringing the aircraft to life with custom-coded systems. We will be sharing regular updates on this progress via the In Development page, Facebook and Twitter over the coming weeks. Sud Aviation Caravelle III 747 CLASSIC After many months of work, the mammoth job of modelling, texturing and the animation of the 747 Classic is nearly complete. The exterior and cockpit models are now finished, with painstaking detail right down to accurately modelled cabins with staircases (see development screenshot above), and hundreds of custom animations have been added. We recently shared some new preview images of the extensive virtual cockpit which features wear and tear based on a real-world aircraft, and we were pleased to see all of the great feedback and excitement for this iconic aircraft! Our coding team have been busy working on the huge array of avionics and systems functionality found onboard the aircraft, from the realistic exterior model animations to the engineer’s panel, and we will be providing more updates on each of these areas in the coming months. After receiving lots of feedback from the community, we are now working on additional variants to follow the 747 Classic, including the 747-300, VC-25 and E-4B. More news on those next time! 747 Classic TRAFFIC GLOBAL (EARLY ACCESS) We’ll be back in 2019 with many more improvements and enhancements to Traffic Global, including improved model lighting, more liveries and new features as we move towards a full release version in the early part of next year. In the meantime, for those of you who are already Traffic Global users we’ve opened a thread in the Early Access forum where you can request the liveries you’d most like to see added to the fleet. Please take a moment to add those you would like to see and we will endeavour to supply as many as possible in the new year. Traffic Global Early Access Here we are in the last month of 2018. Things have been a bit “Swan-like” here at Just Trains and although we have published and released several products such as the fantastic Valley Corridor route, ultra-urban detailed U-Bahn Frankfurt II tram system, super-authentic London-Aylesburyroute both in stand-alone form as well as the add-on version for the Chiltern Main Line, the unique German narrow-gauge Saxon IV-K steam locomotive and the essential UK Military Wagon packcarrying IFA’s, on the surface we may not appear to have been overly busy, the reality is that work on many projects has been happening. We announced two of these quite recently - the Ultimate Class 37 and the Midland Main Line - Sheffield-Derby route and more will be announced in the coming months. Software development of any kind has its challenges and all manner of things can and normally do affect the development times of projects such as a sim update breaking our code, feature creep where we want to add more features to make the project even more authentic, customer feedback and so on. These can add delays and this is one of the reasons why we try to never issue a release date until we're confident we can achieve the said date. We fully understand and really do appreciate your excitement and enthusiasm for our up-coming products but we want to ensure that when they are ready for release they really are ‘ready for release’. Your patience is as always greatly appreciated. Please read on for the latest news on the batch of products currently in development. LONDON UNDERGROUND S8 ADVANCED The much anticipated London Underground S8 Tube train is progressing very well now after a recent setback following the release of Train Simulator 2019 64bit version. Unfortunately this broke the code that we use that passes messages between the front and rear of the train such as the external destination boards, this meant that for instance you could set Harrow on the Hill in the TCMS in the cab and it would display that on the front external display but there would be no destination displayed on the rear of the train, so we had to update that code plus the code that we had already developed that worked previously. Externally and internally the models are all but complete. As an indication of the attention to detail affored to the S8, the real information displays use a LED type matrix system so that any message can be displayed. This posed a problem as there is no real font for this and so we needed to create a model matrix and then “illuminate” each of the required dots to form each letter and that meant the displays on the model would match the real-thing. We have not yet released a full set of specifications for the S8 as the systems coding is still ongoing but it should not be too long until we are able to do that. We are really proud of all of the work that has gone into the development of the S8 and are certainly looking forward to the release to allow you to enjoy a really authentic LU S8 experience. S8 Advanced WESTERN MAINLINES - CORNISH MAIN LINE EXTENSION Development of the Cornish Main Line has been on-going for some time but the finish line is seemingly in sight! This line is an extension of our Western Mainlines route and as such has to be integrated into the existing network that currently runs from London Paddington all the way down to Plymouth, as long as you have the Devon Main Line add-on installed. It has yet to be determined if Cornish Main Line will only be available as an add-on to Western Mainlines or also available as a stand-alone route. As Cornish Main Line is an add-on to Western Mainlines an updated version of Western Mainlines will be released at the same time as the Cornish Main Line . We have spent some time updating Western Mainlines to help increase the frame rate speeds, especially with the number of trees used, and this looks to have made a significant difference to performance. Cornish Main Line and the Western Mainlines update is due for release in early 2019. Cornish Main Line Extension ULTIMATE CLASS 37 We recently announced the Ultimate Class 37 and it now resides in the In Development section on the Just Trains website. This was originally in development with RailRight and we are now pleased to be progressing development by working with Vulcan Productions. As per the name, this will be the Ultimate Class 37 and will have sublime modelling and textures, both externally and in the cab, along with a custom sound set, super dynamics and an advanced set of custom-coded features. This is most certainly the one to watch! Ultimate Class 37 MIDLAND MAIN LINE - SHEFFIELD TO DERBY Sheffield to Derby is a 36-mile section of the Midland Main Line through the heart of South Yorkshire and Derbyshire, serving the towns of Dore, Dronfield, Chesterfield, Belper and Duffield along the way. Development of the route, due to be released in 2019, is progressing very well with all the terrain, track and Super Elevation complete. Signalling is around 50% complete and the scenery work is about a third of the way complete. Building the many custom assets is about to get under way, and these include the Derby R.T.C and its associated sheds as well as Etches Park Depot and a number of the unique buildings around the stations at Sheffield. Needless to say, the stations and much else besides will be modelled specifically for this route. Midland Main Line - Sheffield to Derby LONDON - AYLESBURY UPDATE We have been working on a service pack/update for both the stand-alone and add-on for Chiltern Main Line versions of this route. Along with minor bugs fixes we have carried out work to increase the frame rates of the route along with enhancing the visual appearance. We removed extraneous objects such as houses that are not in view from the track and looked at visual enhancements too, for instance we have replaced the grass with a super new asset that really does look good. A main focus of the update is to prepare London-Aylesbury for the up-coming S8 release. Part of the London Underground Metropolitan Line runs besides and at some points on the very same rails as the London-Aylesbury route. The Met line section of the route is fully signalled and functional and we are now upgrading it to work with the S8. Part of this upgrade has involved very careful placement of the S8 stop chevrons and their invisible markers that are at each LU station. This means that when you correctly stop the S8, that must be in a very precise position, so driving skills ahoy! The S8 in-cab video screens will display (simulated) images of a platform. These are used in the real S8 to check that all is in order with the train before departure. One of the other route upgrades required for the S8 use is the development and placement of invisible markers that communicate with the S8 Radio display. The Met line has several radio centres along its route and the name of each radio centre is displayed on the radio and changes as the train moves along the route. We now have this simulated in the S8. The updated London-Aylesbury is due for release in early 2019. London - Aylesbury So that's it for this Development update. Hopefully you've found it useful and it's given you a good taster of what's to come in 2019. Remember you can visit the In Development sections of the Just Flight &Just Trains websites where new products are announced and screenshots and product details are added to the pages on a regular basis.
