  1. Developer IndiaFoxtEcho has released an update for their F-35 Lightning package that includes PBR. In a post on their website, an extensive changelog describes the rebuilt internal and external models and the inclusion of PBR. In order to accomplish this update, the source models were completely rebuilt, resulting in, what the developer says, is a much better looking plane. Because the model files were compiled with P3D v4.4 tools, they cannot be used in earlier versions of P3D or in FSX. However, the developer has included non-PBR models for those who may prefer them. Moving forward, the project will only be updated for P3D v4.4. The update can be obtained here or from the site. CHANGE LOG Version 3.60 Rebuilt all external and internal models to support PBR textures All models recompiled using P3Dv4.4 tools Updated landing gear model Fixed minor UVW coordinates error on F-35C external model Fixed minor graphic glitches in F-35B and F-35C external models Major rewrite of MFD code with reduced memory footprint and (marginal) performance improvement New .air files to provide better, more linear throttle vs. thrust curve Fixed several glitches in the FCS code FCS Animation code rewritten Fixed bug that caused the first radar track not to show in some screens Note: This update by default is configured to use PBR models and work with P3Dv4.4. You can use this update also with P3Dv4.0 to P3Dv4.3 by deleting the model.cfg files in the model folder of each aircraft and rename the “model.cfg.BackupNonPBR” to “model.cfg”. 2. PMDG Reveals More Development Updates PMDG CEO Robert Randazzo has revealed the latest information regarding PBR updates and a little teaser regarding their NG3 project. In a post on their new forum, Randazzo announced that PBR testing for the 747 QOTSII has now been given to beta testers in order to push for a release after this weekend. After a troubled few weeks of technical difficulties, PMDG were looking at last Thursday 28th February being the release date. Unfortunately, this was put back because of presumed conflicts with the 747 and its interaction with their Global Flight Operations environment in Prepar3D v4. After collaboration with Lockheed Martin and no fewer than 10 different developers, the issues seem to be fixed and they are finally putting the finishing touches to this openly challenging project. Information regarding their highly anticipated NG3 project is still pretty tight-lipped, but what we know from the forum post is that the 737 NG3 is moving along very quickly through its development phase. Mr.Randazzo stated that development has been going on for a long time and was keen to tease as he wrote; “There is so much about this product that you guys are going to absolutely LOVE. I cannot wait to be able to share more but alas, not just yet”. For the full article on the PMDG forum click here. Please note that you have to be a registered user to see this article. 6. "Airworthy Designs have been working hard throughout the Christmas break on their Princess of the Caribbean series for X-Plane. Part One of the series was released back in April to mixed fanfare, due to large performance issues which have now been patched - it has now been updated to v1.7. Part Two will contain the airports of Saba and St. Barths, both of which are notorious amongst aviation fans for their hard approaches. AWD have been sprinkling previews of the new St. Barths scenery since late December, with further screenshots released today." 7. Duo of Active Sky Updates from HiFi SimTech HiFi SimTech aren’t slowing down with making sure their products are given updates based on the community’s feedback. Over the past couple of days, both Active Sky XP (ASXP) and Active Sky for Prepar3D V4 (ASP4) were given updates which brought new fixes and a few new features to the API. For ASXP, Hifi has adjusted the text for the X-Plane turbulence override to be a little more clear regarding some of the data, fixed issues related to in-sim time and also implemented a minimum X-Plane version check system so that if the software discovers it’s below version 11.26, it will shut down ensuring users don’t experience issues. The full change log is at the bottom of this post. On the other side, ASP4 has been in open-beta testing for a little while. This new release (B6909) is a official version which adds P3DV4.4 stability, added new API functionality for access things like wind direction, speed and turbulence along with various adjustments to wind sheer positioning, voice ATIS and more. Both updates are available right now via HiFi’s website. If you’re reading this before December 23rd 2018, then you can enter to win a free copy of Active Sky XP via our raffle. Otherwise, you can buy it from a range of stores including SimMarket and Just Flight. ASP4 Full Change Log (B6909) Fixed problem with XGauge display “PRE” button toggle in TOPS mode where display would not properly show echo tops Fixed issue in interlayer aloft interpolation logic that might result in wind direction/speed inconsistencies at airports with elevations near surface/aloft layer boundaries Added new API functionality for accessing ambient wind direction, speed and turbulence Updated API documentation Adjusted wind shear positioning logic for increased dynamics Adjusted voice ATIS/flightwatch feature to include readback of visibility in meters, when METAR originally provided in meters vs. SM Added wx download corruption checksum testing and proper notification/recovery with force to offline mode allowing another attempt without crash/exception or potential future startup errors Added additional handling when wx file is corrupt for any reason Attempted fix for DNS-related issues in rare cases Adjusted Privacy Policy form/handling to prevent download errors from causing inability to continue (will now retry on next session) – Made Accept button more visible – Added 1-minute reminder to press accept button – Adjusted form size Fixed API issue regarding ambient turbulence enum P3D v4 compatibility updates ASXP Full Change Log (B6927) Adjusted options text for XP turb override to be a litle more clear regarding only surface conditions data, not actual winds experienced, being limited in this mode Fixed discrepancy in voice flightwatch option description regarding com1/com2 use (you can use either radio, as long as it is enabled for listen mode in your intercom) UI improvements during sign-in process to prevent whitespace/trailing characters in some fields Implemented minimum X-Plane version checking (11.26) and warning/shutdown if below minimum version Fixed issue with mode setting when shutting down ASXP and X-Plane is still running Fixed problem with some “steam/normal hybrid” installations causing potential crashing issues Fixed issue related to GMT/local time when using Force to Sim Time option SOURCE INFO https://hifisimtech.com/downloads/ https://fselite.net/news/duo-of-active-sky-updates-from-hifi-simtech/

  9. Flight1 Updates FS Effects (FS Stall Effects) Over on their Facebook page, Flight One Software has announced that an update to their FS Effects utility has been released. This update also brings a name revision, FS Effects was previously named FS Stall Effects. FS Effects is a unique and highly-configurable add-on utility for FSX/SE and Prepar3D v3-4 which realistically enhances your virtual flight experience. The add-on utility has received an update to version 1.02 which adds more controls to tweak and edit your aircraft’s flight characteristics. This update introduces throttle response tweaking, engine start-up time tweaking and a battery life extension which allows you to increase the length of time your aircrafts’ battery will last for before the engine gets to juice it up which is unrealistic for some aircraft. The interface allows you to select an aircraft from your library and make adjustments to the characteristics listed at the end of this article. The aircraft is only compatible with FSX and Prepar3D v2-4. Changelog Copy/pasted the newest files for the P3Dv4.3 ..\PanelCfgs folder. Added revised manual to include 16 new pages on the autopilot operations. Installed KAP140 Autopilot. Installed Bendix-King Attitude Indicator. Installed Bendix-King HSI. Added Text Labels for NAV1/NAV2 switch under the HSI. Updated MVAMS to add a checkbox for the AP System. Added new lightmap BMP files for the new instruments. Added click spots to turn on/off the cabin lights from the overhead (click on the depression in the front) or either of the rear lights. Note that if using the “Freeradio” option night lights require Shift-L to control. Edited all 40 of the panel.cfg files to add the two new lightmaps. Updated the aircraft.cfg file per Well’s latest version. SOURCE INFO https://milviz.com/flight/products/PA30/ https://fselite.net/news/milviz-updates-pa-30-twin-comanche/

  12. FlyJSim Updates 727 Series Professional V3 SOURCE INFO Despite releasing an excellent aircraft last month, developers FlyJSim has updated their 727 Series Professional 3 with a range of fixes and general improvements for the user. The primary focus area of this update are on mach hold and tape movements, the leading edge flaps not deploying when using the alternate flap and visuals on the aft cargo door. Further to general fixes, the team have added a brand new maintenance system for the tires. If you’re a pilot that likes to land firm, you may need to rethink your style as if you land too hard or heavy, prepare to pop a tire or collapse your gear (and have a meeting with tea no biscuits with your manager). There’s a nice range of improvements in the free update from the team, so waste time no more and download the update to the plane we enjoyed very much. You will need to grab the Skunkcrafts updater to download and apply update 3.1809.1125 to your 727 Series Professional V3. Here’s the full change log courtesy of their Facebook post. https://fselite.net/news/flyjsim-updates-727-series-professional-v3/

Note that Navigraph updates will only be available as of December 7th with the next cycle 1713. Furthermore, new flight plan export formats like the Majestic Dash and the new X-Plane 11 FMS format were added. Changes from Release 1.6.7 to 1.8.3 Little Xpconnect was updated to 1.0.5. Minor changes only. Little Navconnect was updated to 1.8.2. Minor changes and bug fixes only. The program will automatically prepare the included Navigraph database on first start. Reloading the scenery databases is recommended. Improvements Navigraph Added Navigraph database cycle 1707 to program download archive. Database is prepared and used automatically on startup. See the Navigation Databases chapter in the manual for more information. Added sub-menu for Navigraph database in menu Scenery Library with three display options. Program can now display mixed data (e.g. FSX/N in titlebar) on map and in information window: Complete airports and ILS from simulator data. Navaids, airways, airspaces and procedures from third party navdata like Navigraph. Changed main window title bar to indicate usage of navdata (e.g. Navigraph): FSX/N: simulator and navdata, (FSX)/N: navdata only and FSX: simulator only. See Window Title in the online manual. Additonal third party database is now opened from application directory first and can be overloaded in settings database directory by a newer one. Programm checks database internal compilation time before copying and creates database indexes on demand. Database is copied and prepared on first startup. Flight Plan Export Enabled saving of the new X-Plane 11 FMS file format and added warning before saving since the format is not usable by X-Plane 11.05. FMS 11 is now the default format when saving FMS although it needs at least a 11.10 beta version. FMS 3 can still be saved using the export option. See in the manual: FMS 11 and FMS 3. Added flight plan export for Majestic Dash. Currently limited to waypoints. See in the manual: FPR. Added export for IXEG 737 flight plan format. See in the manual: FPL. Added options to disable restoring the last search parameters, information window content and aircraft trail on startup in options dialog on tab Startup. Other Updated Linux startup script so that it can be used also by the desktop launcher (thanks to Valerio for the tip). Now adding all readme and changelog files to macOS deployment. Added command line option -s or --settings-directory that allows to change the ABarthel part of the settings directory for testing purposes like running more than one version of Little Navmap. Fixed display of navaids in information dock window on procedure tab and removed SIDs and STARs since this information was not useful. Added cycle information to X-Plane menu item in scenery library menu showing AIRAC cycle of loaded X-Plane database. Scenery library menu item is now disabled instead of being hidden if only one simulator is installed. Adapted airspace and COM display to new types. Added caution airspace. Information dock window on tab Runways/Helipads can now display more than one ILS for a runway end (EDDF 25R/07L in X-Plane). Fixed Errors Fixed error where ARINC name of procedures was not loaded causing problems when exporting and loading flight plans. Fixed problem in ATS route string parser where an airway as an invalid first entry did not generate a warning message. Fixed error in route string parser which did not recognize STARs correctly. Fixed error where first enroute waypoint contained an airway reference after calculating with SID in some cases. This caused problems when exporting some flight plan formats and in the route string parser. Fixed several display issues with large airspaces and airways crossing the anti meridian. These showed up mirrored with their tooltips in other parts of the world. Small problems remain (e.g. Melbourne FIR). FSX/P3D: Added workaround for scenery sort order with add-on.xml files missing layer id. Now forcing navaid updates of fsAerodata to highest priority. Fixed error where an automatic connect was attempted even when hostname is empty. Fixed problem with almost invisible checkbox, radiobutton and toolbar-button state in night mode. Fixed error with wrong ILS pitch in X-Plane compiler. Value was rounded to integer value. Better handling of X-Plane OpenAirspace comments. Fixed crashes and freezes with invalid or incomplete procedures. Drawing code is now more robust for invalid procedure legs as they appear in some add-on scenery. Fixed problem where invalid procedure legs were not recognized (course/heading to DME distance or VOR radial). Fixed problem where no scenery database was selected on first startup causing crashes when loading a flight plan. Fixed handling of missing or inaccessible legend file. Now silently ignores error and redirects to web page if unavailable. Fixed error in scenery library menu where a menu item could be deselected resulting in no selection at all. See the included CHANGELOG.txt or here online for a complete list across all versions.
  23. Great news! New updates are available for VSKYLABS Aeropro EuroFOX Project v3.7 (20.11.2017). Current version is now v3.7 (20th November 2017). This update is non-scheduled and was triggered to encounter some engine issues which were detected during X-Plane 11.10 beta versions testings. It is a minor update in terms of new features, but a major update in terms of internal engineering and preparation for the upcoming updates. Another aspect of the update is that from version v3.7, support for X-Plane 10.51 was ended. The VSKYLABS EuroFOX is now ready for X-Plane 11.10, and in the near future will be updated with the scheduled plan.
