  2. COLIMATA Preview Video Drops on Concorde's 50 Anniversary Fifty years ago today in 1969, Concorde took to the skies for the very first time. Although she is no longer flying today, COLIMATA have steadily been progressing with their X-Plane 11 rendition of the iconic aircraft, which is set to go into early access soon. It follows on from a statement given two weeks ago, which read: "The early access version includes all main parts of the final aircraft. There are some components that will be finished and features added during the summer. To give you an idea: For example, the handy pushback truck will not be ready on day one of the release. Fortunately, Concorde has a reverse gear 😉 (thrust reversers). Another example: Not all complex CIVA functions or Autopilot functions will be available immediately. During the summer more and more will be added. "The aircraft is built in a manner that the user normally just needs to update one little plugin file (~2MB) and the new functions are available. Very handy. The early access version will ship at a discount, the final version later is included in this price. It will be available in the store on x-plane.org. "Early access versions are not for everybody. Some users accept only perfectly finished aircraft in every aspect and that's ok. I will public all details of what you get and what is not ready on day 1 to make this as transparent as possible. "Concorde is easy to fly but not so easy to manage. With the early access version, you can start to fly and learn Concorde. And there is a lot to learn if somebody what's to dig deep. Concorde has no flaps or speedbrakes for example and comes down at incredible pitch angles during landing. She's really unique in so many aspects. As with all our aircraft (FA-18F, MiG-29), we also try to find ways that the person that normally flies props or other aircraft types is able to manage the aircraft for a quick flight without studying for weeks. "For the 50th birthday of Concorde I will release the next video. This time in color and cockpit alive 🙂" Work in progress images from July, 2018 ‍ COLIMATA's Concorde has had several previews in the past already. Our coverage includes: Preview: COLIMATA Concorde video COLIMATA Shows Progress of Concorde's Cockpit More Exterior Shots of COLIMATA's Concorde ‍ Stay up-to-date by finding the official preview thread here. 3. The Aerobask Epic E1000 is “coming soon” according to their most recent Facebook post. Along with that information, the team also shared a brand new trailer giving you a glimpse at all the features the product will pack once it is available. The 2-minute video takes you on a journey of the cockpit, the external modelling and the flight dynamics. Last month, the team also confirmed that they are working on the flight model to make use of the new free turbine model, which came with X-Plane 11.30. You can see additional previews from the aircraft from our article earlier in January SOURCE INFO DEVELOPER POST LINK : NEWS SITE ARTICLE LINK : https://fselite.net/previews/aerobask-epic-e1000-video-trailer-now-available-to-view/

  5. Orbx Santa Barbara Video Preview Orbx beta tester John Dow took the forums to share his point of view (POV) video of the upcoming Santa Barbara (KSBA) from developer Misha Cajic. We have already shared a bunch of preview images with you, but this is the first time we’ve seen the airport in action. The 8 minute tour takes you around the airport, showcases how it performs and the number of smaller details dotted around the airport. John described it as a pre-release beta, so it can’t be too far off from a release. In fact, the product page is already up on Orbx’s website. Once it’s released, we’ll let you know. 6. Sim Innovations Show Video Preview Of 737 MAX Avionics Sim Innovations has continued to make mouths water following their recent announcement of a 737 MAX avionics suite for X-Plane, this time showing a working video preview of the Captain’s PFD in a Facebook video. The video shows the take-off stage of flight, with a few abnormal events thrown in to show what the system is currently capable of – for example, excessive bank angle and sink rate warnings. All of this was accompanied by the familiar sounds of Audiobird’s soundpack for the Zibo 737. Naturally, it’s less exciting to describe this video to you in text form, so head over to the link above to see the full clip. The team made the announcement around a week ago, using only a single still image of the PFD on their Facebook page. Captioning the image, Sim Innovations said that their intention is to create the full MAX avionics suite to work alongside the Zibo 737 as a standalone application – presumably intended for cockpit builders. In the comments some days later, they also made mention of an overhead panel being included in the release – when the time comes, of course. The MAX does seem to be the flavour of the month in the X-Plane world at the moment, though, with the 737 Ultimate team announcing their MAX project just a few days ago, and RG – the modder responsible for the modification package for the Zibo 737 (which is a modification in itself) – has also been posting previews of a 737 MAX8 modification on his VK page in recent days. It appears that anyone with a taste for a modern narrowbody is going to be spoilt for choice pretty soon. https://vk.com/wall-154038623_2187 https://fselite.net/news/sim-innovations-show-video-preview-of-737-max-avionics/

  9. Hello lounge! Excited to share a little hardware upgrade I did in the studio this past weekend. Sitting in a room full of Phillips HUE lights is awesome, but there are definitely some downsides. One is that you're now essentially sitting in the dark, the glow of monitors do a really nice job of lighting me up, but that's assuming the scene on screen isn't dark. A lamp on the desk is how I got by for a long time, but it didn't have much flex with regards to light output and often it just simply lit up the damn room. I knew what I wanted so I started the search for a portable video light with a few requirements, mostly size and versatility, but USB powered was at the top of the list. This deep dive into the world of video tech gadgets led me to the Aputure Amaran LED Video Light...I'll just get to the photos of this amazing light for the studio! Small packaging, big box, yay Amazon! Unexpected Carrying Case is always a bonus, and even a caribiner! The light itself is small, compare against the space key on a standard keyboard. That top cover magnetically attaches to the unit and functions as a diffuser and method to hold on color gels. The initial intent was to mount it this way....but then I put a bit more thought into it... Some tough double sided tape will do the job...lets get creative! Perfect flat surface on the back of the Logitech C920 webcam...clean first! Perfect flat surface on the bottom of the included Aputure Hot Shoe Mount! It can also screw directly onto a tripod. Ta-daaaaaa! LOWEST SETTING HIGHEST SETTING w/9 steps of dimming Learn more about it here: https://www.aputure.com/products/al-m9-1 Buy it here! https://www.amazon.com/Aputure-AL-M9-Amaran-Light-Camera/dp/B01ITRLJIW
